  1. Imagine being that bitter you worry that someone won't appreciate what they have in a video game because they didn't put in an arbitrary time to earn or deserve, according to someone else's definition of worth. Sit down.
  2. I would honestly love to see them added, with the compromise that they may not have a full fleshed out base game story, and instead a short chapter introducing them back into the fold of the outside world tying into the Icebrood Saga. Have good, but understandably limited wardrobe choices, particularly for head so as to minimise having to go back and tailor past sets. This is thinking pre-emptively in mind with the primary objections I've seen to their development.
  3. Vertigo/Dizziness is my krytponite too, but I mainly only experience that in shooters like COD or Warframe, have never encountered that in this game or any other MMO over the years, but I acknowledge that just because that's my experience, that's not reflective of yours. This game is not designed to be malicious to you or anyone experiencing issues, and if these suggestions above don't improve the experience it's okay to recognise when we have limitations, and to not try to circumvent the needs of your health... for the sake of a videogame. look after you first, friend!
  4. I was also frustrated as well. In particular, I didn't like that if a lane failed, you had to be aware of which one had failed, and reposition to get a shot at the damage avoid mechanic you were specifically gunning for. I also didn't feel like the wording on avoid all damage from the marionette was clear enough, from reading achievement description. Fortunately, I have since done them all, and only need to fit in a Cobalt Wurm Vigil escort and that's that.
  5. It actually gives Eye of the North even more use and purpose, as I don't really care for Dragon Response Missions.
  6. It's clear from the above that people seem to forget that you can only measure the success of challenging content based on the individuals success against it. Pitting 50 randoms, with no control apart from time of day and happenstance as a measure of whether content is too hard or not is irrelevant. If it's reliant on 50 people doing the right thing, it's not that the content is too hard. No one is able to reasonably overcome a collective failure of people unwilling, unable, or too impatient to persevere. Remember, the goal of this game is entertainment. Bandying about 'back in the day' BS is completely useless. Either it's engaging and rewarding as a video game, that challenges the individual in a Scaling context, or it is not. As it is, from the glance at reactions to it so far I won't even bother spending my valuable time doing an action I can't personally guarantee group cohesion, or success on. This doesn't sound like fun.
  7. I've been playing on again, off again probably the last 7 years? I have only 6k achievement points, and I did the survey. The questions related to feedback around 'Champions' and the game in general. I didn't answer all of the questions as some questions were unclear, irrelevant, or excessive on detail requirement - which is also a telling metric for them and their future data collection. Putting aside both ourselves, OP. Do you know much about sample data? Or the different types of data collection? It's nothing personal, it's a broad stroke of the brush to get feedback from all segments of the community but not in a targeted individual way. I'm sorry this may be counter to your expectations, but it's possible that they specifically do not want to hear from the dedicated masters of all content in the game, but to get an idea of what would get traction with newcomers (see new form of income), or the key interests of the majority of players within a certain provided content period. As others have said, this isn't a rewards program. We are all genuinely pleased you have such dedication to this game, but that doesn't lead to entitlement. Another thing you could do, is contact their customer service directly and say 'hey, I have great passion for this game, can you please send me a survey to my email to complete'. That would be a pro-active way of going about it rather than this post which does honestly read as an 'It's not about me ((but it secretly is)) post.
  8. I remember thinking I was near done, and being completely frazzled when I was up to the feeding part... and I didn't even know you could do it 4 times a day. That said, probably one of the most singularly rewarding 'questlines' in any of the mmo's I've played. The Skyscale is integral to my gaming experience, it's aesthetic is also amazing. As a heads up, the Dragon Bash festival is where you can buy a lot of the map currency via gold process.
  9. To be honest, I always wondered why EOTM doesn't replace one of the Alpine Borderlands. OR - Just restore it to it's former glory. Those that went there, and there were a lot, wanted quick levels and weren't necessarily geared for fights. I wasn't, and was quite often food for pvpers. That was fine, and the trade off.
  10. What do you mean, you don't understand? 😀 I explained in context, specifically : "Maguuma is decimating Sea of Sorrows and Blackgate currently" "Since when did Maguuma actually become a powerhouse? WTF?!" They've (Maguuma) done really well for themselves since when I last played WvW regularly. In fact, I went up against my old guild last night and while the numbers on the map turned, they're (BoB) extremely good at what they're doing, so when I did land some killing blows - I felt supreme guilt for being a dirty, filthy little traitor. ... Of which my partner has still to log into the game yet to even make his character to justify my jump. Much to my annoyance.
  11. I don't know what you took from my post, but you've completely missed the point. Summary - I support people wanting stealth. I only commented about my own introduction to stealth here, and as it's actually quite sh it in this game, I wouldn't dream of using it. I don't particularly care about how you get it, so long as you have a simple and easy way to get it. Nothing further to elaborate.
  12. I just transferred from Maguuma to Sea of Sorrows for 1) The publicised allure of playing with a greater Oceanic WvW population, and 2) with the server unlocks I just got my other half into the game and we would want to WvW together. Ironically, Maguuma is decimating Sea of Sorrows and Blackgate currently. As I've only recently returned from a 6 month break, when I cast my mind back, BoB was the only guild on Maguuma, that is Aussie, and had an active presence, but there weren't too many other guilds at the time we were playing. Now? Wow. I mean, I had to find a server for the partner and I to both be on anyway, but far out I regret moving. Since when did Maguuma actually become a powerhouse? WTF?!
  13. I remember when I first played this game, that Thief was my first class. I wanted a stealther, and couldn't even fathom that stealth had a super limited timeframe. The concept was just beyond me. After leaving the game, learning about Action style MMO's via ESO and then eventually returning and being here for quite some time, I've built my alt Thief as a really cool Monk with staff, and haven't thought about stealth since. Stealth doesn't bother me, and I rarely see it being used, in whatever mode I am in. But playing Devil's Advocate for a moment though, for those who want it, I can remember and appreciate how much fun it is to slip on by other players, or NPC's. I haven't read all 18 pages of this thread previously, so please pardon if something like this has been raised, but what about a dedicated Stealth ability (Signet), slotted on the right hand bar,, that has no timer to duration but has a cool down on it, that could potentially, through traits, trigger a reduction or reset in timer to re-enter stealth. That way it's a deliberate playstyle which would otherwise forego other advantageous passives/abilities.
  14. Glad Aurene ate Joko. All the other Elder Dragons suck. Happy to work with a prismatic Dragon.
  15. Please pardon me for not having read the whole thread, there was one comment though where I massively rolled my eyes though and so I wanted to point out where's the indignation about culturally appropriately Norse culture and armour style? Or the generalisation of the Roman style organisation to Charr military actions, implying a European style warlike conqueror. Or that Cantha is isolationist and got rid of any other races, like a so called other Middle Kingdom mentioned in history. Seperate point. One thing I absolutely Despise? The term PoC. It's people, just people, of different ethnicities sharing 99% same genetic material. Most of the planet isn't white, so cease with this term and just finger point at white if you're so concerned. Again, Just people. I love the Pharoah outfit also. So thanks Anet.
  16. When last the Exalted Shoulders were available on the Statuette trader, I had to go away for a 2 days IRL then and there, and when I came back they had been rotated out. I was Fuuuurious. Can we please get these rotated back in? Dying to get this for All of my characters.
  17. Agreed. Don't go talking about how 'no one' wanted mounts but that we all pay for new skins on release now, without replicating the same set of circumstances for your duelling. Wanna duel? Pay Gems. At any rate, your post is reaching, and not even remotely relevant.
  18. A fair point raised, with an expansion on the way, I don't see the point or need to adjust staff. I understand that Axe / whatever as melee range is supposed to be high risk, high gain. But carrying on like an absolute pork chop with the most excessive use of the word 'literally' has not endeared me to your point at all, and taking a step back, why would I care that an easy or enjoyable alternative, and a ranged weapon at that exists on a class for me to play around with? I throw money at the gem store on the regular. The only thing that comes down to whether my point is more valid than yours, or yours negates mine, is which out of the two of us makes Anet more money. Literally. Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  19. I'm just truly sorry for the OP's dawning realisation of MMO's. It's wonderful you are passionate about Guild Wars 2, but in no sense beyond the propriety name of your character, and how you gear it or experience through the game; do we ever have any control, right, or directive on how we experience. You can be rightly annoyed at the direction something takes. You can rightly be upset about throwing 8 years into something you do not own or possibly change the outcome of. Those are within your rights. I hope you continue to enjoy the story for what it is, and be comfortable with one day this chapter will end too.
  20. I'd like to ask Katten where this level of condescension comes from and ask - in a sentence, please summarise what point you are trying to make. Because currently you are coming off as someone I wouldn't even pay attention to.
  21. Ele is definitely harder to play Solo, however let's talk about gear. Send me a message in game, it could be a case of crafting you either berserker exotics (what everyone will tell you to get) or marauder exotics (more health, less power - what I use, and I am not interested in end game pve team composition and for now at least - doesn't sound like you are either yet)
  22. I remember levelling multiple characters back in the day on EOTM and I was sad to see that all change, as it was a good fun way to level so I could then focus on hearing and going out in to the world with a completed character to experience all the content as story only. I hope they repurpose this map for some other reason in the future as it was well designed and I liked it.
