  1. I don't really have a main, i use whatever class can survive Hot and PoF until Anet nerfs them then i use the next best class to do the same..At the moment i main an Engi flamethrower Asura because its almost unkillable in pve.. until Anet destroys it of course.
  2. Kinda like Christmas myself.. I'd be so hyped for Ninja Skritt tho True. That niche is already filled. Thematically, daredevil is basically already a ninja. Daredevil is nothing like A Ninja... Daredevil is like an Army Sniper, how many ninjas use sniper rifles .......
  3. never touched those, and i doubt the average player even know of their existance. neither did i BTWthe names alone are enough to put them at the bottom of my to do list, sound like hardcore stuff IMO You're joking, right? This is a bit? Nope i'm the same didn't know those existed and don't really care that they do.. Toxic Alliance events spawn in starter-adjacent zones like Kessex Hills and Gendarran Fields. It's the big scary flower that gives you hallucinations, defended by Krait, Hulks, and Nightmare Court Knights that you have to stomp to death. These are actually baddies from Season 1 story but they're just part of the normal maps now. If you play the Season 2 story or even just the maps (Dry Top and Silverwastes), you will run into Mordrem like Terragriffs (the griffon-looking things that hit really hard) and Trashers (the spinny boys). The new enemies for HoT are the Mordrem Guard, the Chakk, and the various dinos. Other types of Mordrem are introduced slowly before you get there. Oh those yeah i tried those and got wiped never went back i thought they were some team event gone wrong. so, they are nerfing content with one hand, but they are using the other to do THIS?thats like revving the engine to full power and still having the BREAKS ONkilling players in core with this kitten doesnt make them "better", it just makes them want to quit the gamei cant believe the bad leadership in this companyTechnically doesn't make them quit so much as it makes most avoid said content completely.. Go to any Tyria map and check these Hot events and let me know how many people successfully complete them.. its very few.. most see them and avoid like a plague, usually after their first solo death, i've ressed countless poor souls who attempted those towers..And even i forgot this content existed, if anet remove these tomorrow no one would care. It's more like wanting a video game to be an actual... game and not an interactive book. I guess some people just want to read/watch a story unfold instead of actually playing a video game, which is why they don't want anything "challenging". Others don't find that kind of game enjoyable at all. Nah. Given how much more hardcore games used to be, even mmorpgs, this has absolutely nothing to do with Dark Souls. Tyria core was not an interactive book it was an actual game one we all got sold on at Guildwars 2 release, until the content parasites destroyed it for the rest of us..
  4. It's not a difficulty spike. Some fights that you would have already experienced to get here, if you followed the order of the story as it's available now:Mouth of ZhaitanVorpp (in "Meeting the Asura")MordremothCaduceusLazarusHerald of Balthazar (2x)Balthazar Other than herald and Balth a new customer can totally miss all the rest if they were just after mounts.
  5. I find that reaper necromancer is one of the easier PvE professions to play with, so if you have one everything in PvE will be a lot easier when playing with it. Warrior is probably one of the worser professions right now especially when using a ranged weapon so everything may seem harder. I beat it with no death in less than a minute on my dual pistol thief.. Why because its ranged and armed to the teeth with cc skills, as i said most bosses are designed to destroy melee.. and classes are so imbalanced its not at all funny.
  6. Unless they changed things, you should still be able to access the hero panel and can swap out items that are in your inventory and now the equipment templates. You would obviously have to get far enough away to get out of combat or wait until he kills you to do it. I couldn't tried to open my stuff the whole time i thought towards the end i'd be able to but even running up to the Eater of Souls my panels would not open and i'd get a red message across my screen saying its disabled.

You're looking at the wrong section. Everyone is on the achievement leaderboards, which is how I can tell you're on Sea or Sorrows. I wasn't i checked my sever the achievement points don't go as low as mine.. never touched those, and i doubt the average player even know of their existance. neither did i BTWthe names alone are enough to put them at the bottom of my to do list, sound like hardcore stuff IMO You're joking, right? This is a bit? Nope i'm the same didn't know those existed and don't really care that they do.. You are definitely there. I added you as a friend and had a look. Your own name shows at the top regardless of filter to show your percentile. This is what I see at the top: https://imgur.com/a/FtRusqa If I've set the filter to friends and I scroll down, I can see you on there, as shown here:https://imgur.com/a/GxqqeTP I'm not sure what you're looking at, but you are definitely included in these leaderboards, just not high enough to get a rank that isn't given as a percentile.Weird i wonder how i missed the top part, maybe they need to highlight it a different color or something.
  8. What changed sorry to necro but been away 9 months and wondering what they changed on Thieves after this thread.
  9. https://imgur.com/0eblVnPYesterday on my Revenant.. Couldn't change to my hammer due to the story blocking my inventory, so i was stuck on melee.. I know how this works and he still killed me.. one attack took 20k hp then he dragged me in to be killed... 20k hit points in one hit.

  11. What do you mean they do not account for all accounts? They are the official leaderboards and they contain data from every account in the game. I'd be surpised if i'm even on that leaderboard, i've not done PvP, WvW in like 6 to 8 years, and raids i've never done and fractals again 3 years or so. I just checked my account is not even on those leaderboards even after logging in..
  12. Its not exactly hard, its more tedious and overtooled on purpose to gate customers.. Some actual critters do far too much damage though, and the over use of CC paired with crazy damage makes it not fun, its why a large group of the population ignore 99% of mobs in HOT unless they are forced to fight them for some reason, in tyria customers actively look for things to kill in hot you only kill stuff as a last resort.. big difference in gameplay and fun factor.
  13. Dwarves are nothing like Norn? Dwarves mined underground.. Norn are like Vikings. Thats not 100% true a dwarf community could be still around..https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/DwarfMany years ago, far to the south, in Cantha, relics of a mysterious race, possibly an offshoot of the Deldrimor dwarves, were uncovered in the Aurios Mines of the Jade Sea. This is the only indication of any dwarven presence on the southern continent, and remains unexplained to this day.Yes, theoretically there might have been some Dwarven presence in other places. This changes nothing however - the Rite of the Great Dwarf (due to the very nature of Great Dwarf) affected all of the dwarvenkind, no matter where they were at the moment or their political affiliations (if there were any Stone Summit remaining, they were eventually transformed as well). Some dwarves might have managed to delay the pull of the Rite for longer than others, but ultimately all were converted. That is actually canon, btw.Just because they were stone didn't mean they no longer exist..
  14. Its drags you in and insta kills you if you are 2 secs to slow. Spellbreaker is bad because it has terrible ranged options.. and nearly every boss forces ranged combat or you are dead... A lot of classes cc are poor and are on massive cooldowns or are just rinsed off in seconds.. Did you watch the video Shikaru.7618 linked?even missed 1 of the cc breaks and was not insta killed at all, just had to turn and press w to stay away from boss I never said a veteran can't pass it, i even passed it, i was explaining what it does and why its annoying. aren't you a raider anyway? Its drags you in and insta kills you if you are 2 secs to slow. Spellbreaker is bad because it has terrible ranged options.. and nearly every boss forces ranged combat or you are dead... A lot of classes cc are poor and are on massive cooldowns or are just rinsed off in seconds.. Weird that you feel that way, I usually favor my spellbreaker for bounties and dailies.. I agree that some bosses are not melee friendly. Warrior really needs better ranged options.. Yes I heal in raids what do that got to do with eater of souls fight? Raiders are far and above the general population of casual gamers, so a boss like that is run of the mill to you, to someone like me a person who doesn't raid ever its very hard, annoyingly so.I just did this the other day and i still died three times before i realized what i had to do.. Its why this thread spoke to me as such. It tethers you drags you in damaging you the whole time then insta kills you before you can even think i need to CC this twerp.. then its downed and dead..As i said its not fun for many. I'm sorry but if you think having to attempt a boss 3 times is too much then that's just your opinion. Most people enjoy a small challengeNo they don't some do, many others do not especially in gaming after a long day at work.. More stress on top of Stress is bad when gaming is designed as an entertainment. Its drags you in and insta kills you if you are 2 secs to slow. So what is your suggestion? Story bosses should never have any mechanic? Can be defeated just by autoattacking without moving? How much of the game's mechanics should be thrown away for story encounters? Eater of Souls is by no means perfect when it comes to design but it also has a perfectly reasonable "obvious" option of running away while it is trying to drain your health. As long as you can prevent it from healing through the life steal nothing else really matters. It does have a pull but you can still run away after that.It also has a launch you but that is what stun breaks are for. My suggestion is keep these mechanics in Raids and Fractals, they aren't needed in a story where 90% of customers are playing to watch a story and enjoying the open world.. Very very different game modes.. I'm one of those players who primarily plays for the story and I hope they continue to put in mechanics like this into story missions. If I wanted to watch a story, I'd put on a movie or a tv show or get a book. I do hope they don't make any more that are as long as this mission is so that players can regroup without having to repeat a long mission. Which is what I think half the problem is with this mission. The first half is a long mission and the first time through it, you don't know that it's a forced you lose mission. So a player who is not the best enters it, that first half takes forever and a day and then get to Eater of Souls... I pity the ones that then got a disconnect at the end as that mission tends to be one of the ones that disconnects more often than others. Personally, I'm kind of sad he got nerfed. I understand the reasoning and I don't disagree on the nerf it got. I just happened to beat him before his nerf and it took some time. Now the next time I go in, I won't be able to know if me killing him quicker is due to my skills increasing or the nerf. Then you are not a person that plays for story sorry, you are considered hardcore. 16. Why does it have to be so small. On an Asura its like you are wearing a tissue.
  17. Trying to balance a core pve game is like trying to grasp the ungraspable..
  18. Asuran Golem Versions.https://i.redd.it/o6l7147luruz.jpgNot my work but you get the idea.
  19. I Voted Dwarves myself as its always been a dream to play them since GW1.. I can't believe there was no Skritt option. This is the only indication of any dwarven presence on the southern continent, and remains unexplained to this day. According to Magister Sieran, the dwarven civilization lasted more than two thousand years, which would put the founding of Deldrimor and the building of structures like the Windy Cave at 675 BE at the latest.
  20. Its hasn't changed, if you played it a year ago its pretty much exactly the same, Weapon and Armor build tabs, a few more living stories and a lot more paid cosmetics, but its exactly as its always been.
  21. Why even bother playing the game if you do not want to learn its mechanics? How is the game going to make you learn gameplay if you can indefinitely avoid it? Obviously it does not have to be a per character thing, can just be once per account thing that you can repeat as needed. Its not the mechanics to learn i'm on 250ping as an Aussie and hot is inundated with cheap shot mechanics designed to bully customers to death.. not fun in the slightest to play.. Even as an 8 year vet i try to avoid Hot and i've only ever completed pof once.. its just not a fun aspect to deal with daily.. I think the best advice is toncomplete pof and play hot as a prequel. That wont help you need minimum Glider, Bunny and a Flying mount to avoid a good chunk of deaths.. In case anyone was actually planning to listen to this guy, let me just save you the trouble with this video of an HoT champion solo that anyone (even Dante here!) can do. As a bonus, I'm wearing green gear that costs about 2s per piece so anyone can afford it. I've also slotted all signets for utilities and no weapon swap to avoid any complications. You can literally just push buttons at random with this build and win. The only thing that matters is pushing dodge and auto attack over and over. Seriously, Dante, do yourself a favor and try this. You might begin to realize what people are trying to tell you and what you never could have learned playing through content once and then complaining about it endlessly for years. Find a build that works. This one happens to work even if you don't want to! I can pass that one.. i noticed you used stave mesmer not greatsword? did you try elementalist? also try the tengu or vinetooth.. try the chak and rolling thing.. You cherry pick a relatively easy one and say Hot is doable.. Try soloing Tangled depths hero points i soloed about 2 in that map.. the rest obliterated me. Lets see you do Balthazar solo. Sure thing, chief. I bet those aren't you, and those are half a year ago.. before a lot of changes especially the mushroom it was in Jan, but kudos to those players, i wish i had ping times to rival those players.. Here you go, Dante. Links to my youtube channel and the forum threads I've maintained for years focusing on open world builds for mesmer and elementalist, including variants designed to help players who struggle with expansion/story content but aren't mechanically inclined. If my Balthazar solo isn't current enough for you, perhaps you'd care to watch my VB night meta boss trio solo from 3 weeks ago? In any event, if you need help with hero points in HoT I regularly assist other players with that. I don't like to lead big squads, so it would just be you and me. Quicker that way, since we don't have to wait for stragglers and I can solo the champs down in about a minute. You'd get some hero points pain-free and see for yourself what elementalist is capable of in open world! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVfOCi7TrvGxoYKLE0C6NcA https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/107218/open-world-domination-fire-weaver https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/30394/open-world-domination-mirageI usually just wait for HP trains myself.. but thanks either way, I'm on Sea of Sorrows so i doubt we are in the same server. Well done on those HPs, again i wish i had your ping times, i feel i'd solo a lot more, but being 250-400ish ping i don't have most chances. Why even bother playing the game if you do not want to learn its mechanics? How is the game going to make you learn gameplay if you can indefinitely avoid it? Obviously it does not have to be a per character thing, can just be once per account thing that you can repeat as needed. That wont help you need minimum Glider, Bunny and a Flying mount to avoid a good chunk of deaths.. I have played through that same content with high ping as well, and do not feel bullied in the slightest. I also have a plenty of 300 ping AUS and asian friends who do not struggle with the content. You dont need flying mount or glider in pof. Eh? Confused as to how this is relevant to anything. You indeed do not need those for PoF. Nor mounts for HoT. Why even bother playing the game if you do not want to learn its mechanics? How is the game going to make you learn gameplay if you can indefinitely avoid it? Obviously it does not have to be a per character thing, can just be once per account thing that you can repeat as needed. Great and i have a lot that say otherwise. we go round and around.. even yesterday i saw customers angry an frustrated in hot.. that isn't good gaming imo. Also i don't know if it was my time zone but for me Tangled Depths was beyond empty mostly.. not even events. Then perhaps it is time for all these individuals to look into what they can do in order to improve their own gameplay, instead of demanding for content to be nerfed. Someone someone suggested that you need to get the raptor so you should do the first part of pof before hot which to me seeks weird. You want to have some kind of narrative structure so doing 1 part of pof going back to hot and then going back to pof to finish it seems weird to me.The devs want the content super hard so it takes longer to pass.. The way customers are suggesting is an easier route but breaks the games story for customers. Sadly if i was new i'd completely avoid HOT till i had at least 5 mounts and then do HOT, focusing on my glider first. Strange that following the story in this game is actually punishing customers.. but hey thats GW2 after Tyria's bright start.
