I have optimistic hope that Anet will discover some way to toggle this. I can't believe it is their intent to keep it this way.

I can't speak for others. For me, it's not rushing. Yes, I enjoy exploring maps, especially these new ones with the skyscale to see what places I can reach. 🙂

That's a pretty gross generalization. I solo and am very casual. Map completion is one of my fun things to do. I'd rather not have to complete events to do so. Rewards aren't the objective for me. And I did say "any or all of the events", so I do understand that one doesn't need to do all of them.

I get the sentiment here, but some players simply enjoy map completion and aren't necessarily interested in doing any or all of the events on the map just to do so.

Have we seen any significant shift in the in-game economy? If not, then I don't see the problem here.

Most liked period? You mean when players left GW2 in droves after HoT release and the forum was chocked full of complaint threads? That period? EDIT: the same period that caused Anet to make significant changes to their release in order to retain players?

Being a mostly solo, very casual player I am finding plenty to do in SotO that I can actually accomplish. And, I can choose to jump into the metas or not and still be entertained. I admire the HoT maps for their innovation, but despise going there (and I'm glad that many players do enjoy them). Never progressed to the EoD final meta because the turtle wasn't worth all that effort and potential time waste for me. I'd rather be doing something else, so I did. As am I!

This is one of the problems. Not everyone has the same selections, so friends and family can't always run dailies together.
