    Can't speak to ESO or BDO, but SWToR is indeed a sub model if you wish to have everything opened in the game. Still, the point is that SWToR at least has a subscription which brings in revenue whereas GW2 has to rely on gems/cash shop.

    The problem with your comparison is that the games you mention are subscription based, so those studios have a different means of generating income.

    That's highly subjective. I only entered SAB once and hated it. I would much rather Anet spend resources elsewhere.

    You can do that now. You have the option to buy gems on whatever schedule you desire.
