  1. Flux Bomb is just as "rotation-interrupting" and "DPS-losing" as dodging big attacks.Social Awkwardness is actually nerfed to a counter to the mindless Just stack and DEEPS tactics. I agree with you on this. They should revert it back to it's former, brutal glory. No Pain, No Gain is just the Dredge Fractals spilling to the other ones. If your group doesn't notice the boons there or doesn't deal with them, then you're fine with it.
  2. I think the quest starts at Trahearne's memorial. I suggest you go there first. It's at the Grove by the entrance from Caledon Forest.
  3. This begs the question: Where have they gone to? If they have moved on from their respective realms, what is next for them? Anti-realms? :o They've gone to that unknown place where Malyck, Zojja, and the Charr commander's warband have gone. It's where lore dies.
  4. Portal Scrolls and Tomes were a mistake. Imagine the amount of gem sales they would've had from Teleport-to-Friend stones. Maybe they wouldn't have had to lay-off a lot of people, fund a new expansion or hire developers for WvW.
  5. Why stop there? Just sell Mastery Points for 300 gems a pop, 2000 gems for a 7-pack!Think of the profits they can make there!
  6. Nah.Though I would change my mind if they revisit them in a way that the dyeable versions can be obtained in-game through very challenging content.
  7. I found it weird that Arenanet had put in some at all. They seemed to be allergic to difficulty options since days 1. Nah. Orr maps were hard. Granted people in the early days of the game have at best rare gears.HoT maps and metas were pretty challenging at release too. But then again, they nerfed the maps' difficulty after a few months so there could be some truth to that.
  8. They should add some of those random abilities that bounties have every time a Champion Lord respawns. B)
  9. If the problem for you and most of the pugs (according to you) is the pushing mechanic of SA, why ask for removal? Propose a change, like make Social Awkwardness behave how it used to in Siren's Reef. There you go - no more pushing, and the instability will still be there for those that are not mechanically handicapped.
  10. Now you're just being disingenuous. It's all about the challenge of the specific encounter. Let's take some other monsters for example: The Chak have goop that slows you down and makes you take more damage from them the longer you stand in it. Can be nullified by a mastery which removes it the goop and makes one immune to it for a short time after dodging. They also have reflect shields that pretty much a death sentence like Retaliation to any ranged attackers. Smokescales are literally invulnerable in their smoke fields and when you melee them, you get blinded for days. Ranged damage deals with them easy. Wyverns, Rolling Devils and their big daddy Bonebreakers are such a pain to both melee and ranged, unless you break their defiance bar. Once broken though, they're as easy to kill as ambient creatures.Awakened Canids are so much pain to deal with on melee, and will get boons when attack from ranged. To beat them, you just have to kite them and wait out their "spring from the ground" attack, then attack in melee or if you're ranged, just deal with the protection boon's 33% damage reduction of your attacks.Awakened Abomination counter attacks and reflects range damage. You just wait out that attack and deal as otherwise. Diplomat Tarban's neverending confusion stacks. He gets harder every time Anet decides to buff confusion in PVE. Best way to deal with him is to not attack at all when he stacks those up and always have reflects and condition clears equipped when fighting him.Look at these hard monsters before that champion murellow. They all pose a challenge that require at least a little bit of effort to succeed. Some classes are totally going to have a hard time with those encounters while some can breeze through them. Without that retaliation, what would be that Champion Murrelow Group Event (mind you!)'s challenge? Might as well replace it with a static hunk of meat. And FYI, everyone can boonstrip. Use Sigils. Too much effort you say? Unfair? Well, it's also unfair that other classes can pretty much have permament 25 stacks of might, fury and swiftness, or tank a whole lot of damage while on full Berserker gear, or block everything, or dodge everything. Got to have variety in roles and group up, people. At the end of the day, you're playing an MMORPG.
  11. Here are some ideas on how to deal with Retaliation in general: Boon StripBoon CorruptTank-UpCondition DamageStop AttackingAsk for help because you're playing an MMORPGVisual Clutter has nothing to do with it. Retaliation has an icon - a fist on a target's boon bar. PvE mobs rarely have 2340329 icons on their bar, except for those champion bounties.Fast-paced combat has nothing to do with it. There is a stow weapon hotkey that instantly stops your character from doing whatever it is they're doing. Also, dodge.
  12. Rangers will still be not invited in squads.Firebrands and Scourges will just stick to their core classes with the same gear. Maybe staves for necros would be of use again.Definitely an increase in Spellbreakers. Might even have more Spellbreakers than Heralds.A Scrapper and a Tempest here and there. So basically the same thing just more Spellbreakers.
  13. Yeah, I thought it would be exotic-to-ascended (hard mode) or at least rare-to-exotic (casual mode), upgraded via a mystic forge recipe if not crafted. Expectations subverted!
  14. Well okay, I'll take it. As long as the passive aegis for guards is there after the dismount i welcome this. The most broken about IT is the 'passive' virtue of courage timer gets resetted everytime you get on your mount...try IT You Will keep having eagisWhiskey Tango Foxtrot. Here I am with my Daredevil losing one dodge bar and 3 extra initiative every time I go on my mount, and Guardians get their passive Aegis back when they mount-up?!
  15. 4)Try to live without that one AP or settle on the fact that it will cost tens of thousands. If you want the T-Shirt, it's available on pvp/wvw reward tracks anyways.
  16. I stopped caring about the story during that time they let Charr characters take the Shining Blade oath. I only do the stories just to unlock the reward tracks for WvW or if I like a shiny gated by an achievement. I do look forward to new fractals or raids. Strike Missions are meh judging from the first one. So not hyped at all.
  17. When you do end-game content like Fractals, Raids or WvW, you're gonna need some quality consumables. You may find yourself researching about the food you'll be using in those content and see that that some ascended versions are way cheaper and give more value in them. The expense and hassle to train your chef skills are worth it in the long run because you will be actually spending less money using ascended food over their level 400 counterparts. This is not even saying that ascended food are all feasts - meaning anyone in your party/team/nearby vicinity can use them. They stay where you dropped them for five minutes or until you leave the map. Not a lot of people know this or probably even care. So maybe someday the prices of ascended food will catch-up and overtake their normal counterparts.
  18. Bring back the Permeating Wrath meta!
  19. You can't. This is what we do now. We're gonna be like this from now on! On a serious note, you can also hotkeys. They added build and gear switch hotkeys on your Keybindings tab. I made my Builds Shift+1,2,3 and Gear Ctrl+1,2,3. So now when I enter WvW from PvE, I just press Shift+3 and Ctrl+3 since those are were my WvW builds/gears are.
  20. Scourge going to get the Chronomancer treatment for WvW, I see... Can't you implement HP on Shades that depletes itself everytime it pulses? And I mean HIT points, not Health. For example - Shades have 30 HP and pulses 15 times, so it depletes 2 HPs per pulse, but foes can attack it to prevent it from pulsing its whole duration. One attack of any kind removes 1 HP from it. It has to be attacks, and not ticking conditions that remove HP. This way, shades could still be potent on small scale but not overpowered on large scale battles. Adding lots of Barriers to most of the Scourge skills but retaining their corruption potency is also a good idea. That way, Tactics Warriors would be meta. Commanders would now have to balance their squads and not just spam Scourges and add a couple of Spellbreakers then blob to win.
  21. Anet removed some mechanics and never edited the map size accordingly. Alpine's North used to have this orb mechanic that everyone fights for, so it was appropriate for it's size for when epic battles occur. They removed that due to blatant hacking of players and never mentioned it again, but the north side area remained the same. Yes, instead of fixing the hacks or being vigilant on the hackers, they simply removed the mechanic. Too much effort, I guess?Same with Desert - there used to be "hindrances" all over the place. You have to destroy them before you gain access to other areas of the map. Emergency Waypoints were only available on towers too, and of course the map-wide-lag-inducing Laser Event in the middle. That was the time when WvW players complained so much and shrunk in population that never really recovered. Guess what they did? Yep - they just removed the barriers, disabled the Laser Event and put EWPs on keeps. Then they had this voting poll of putting back Alpine on rotation and never get new maps ever again or keep Desert and maybe, just maybe get a new map. Still waiting on that new map, by the way. It's like putting band-aids on deep tissue wounds. Just like moving Ogrewatch Tower and replacing it with a big nothing because of gliding abuse and putting invisible walls and extra rocks all over the place because of Warclaw abuse.
  22. Because it's just the Griffon that can't fly, without feathers, and a cat head instead of a bird.
