  1. I mean, rev elite spec gets 6 utilities, and 2 elites. They are trying things, and seeing how we feel about them. Hence the class betas.
  2. Lol, are you trying to outwit me? I'm just trying to get information. We're obviously talking about games most similar to the one in question (this game), and not the sims. I was genuinely asking if there are any. There's no need to try to spin my words against me. To rephrase (since I guess asking a question begs for debate), are there any MMORPGs that hand out DLCs for free. So far I have PoE.
  3. Which ones? I tried to think, and couldn't come up with any, but someone did say PoE.
  4. I mean they did give them away, several times, to people that play the game. I bet if new players continue to play the game, they will get them for free. The issue here is people want free stuff on THEIR terms. Sorry, none of us get to decide when they are free. I will guarantee that some point in the future (more than likely around the end of S6), they will hand them out for free again. If you don't feel like waiting, there is an alternative. It's very entitled to think you (general you, not you personally) get to decide how people will give you their things.
  5. To be fair, PoE is completely F2P with $40-60 cosmetics. THAT doesn't really have a bearing on content releases, but the entire game is free, so it would be weird to charge for DLCs. And the cosmetics show the extent they need to go to make up the money somewhere. It is insane seeing the amount of people with 10+ supporter badges that were $100+, lol (just a side note).
  6. Maybe I just don't remember, but are there any games out there that give completely free DLCs?
  7. Where can I go to find information of the drops, and how to get them? I never got into anything like that until New World's launch with the Twitch drops, but it was pretty easy. I like easy cosmetics, lol. Even if they aren't that special. I just like options for aesthetic customization.
  8. Gotta say, 7shot in dungeons makes me cry, because there are so many "obstructed" popups on my screen, lol. I do love the dungeon system. New cosmetics can literally breathe life into any aspect of this game, and they know it. ANet is a shark. Never look back. Focus hard on what is in front of you, until it isn't anymore.
  9. Living world was meant to be a once and done thing, like season 1 is. Everyone is lucky to be able to play the seasons after they end. Having the seasons to play is a reward for being a loyal player, and logging on for 1.5 seconds every 3 months. Those stories were handed out for free (and still are if you actually play the game), and the F2P model has solidified that stance. They need money to pay people, there is no sub fee, and I have spent money on gems in years, and still get just about everything I want. Money has to come from somewhere. Also, brand new players will have tons of content before they reach S2. You actually just missed every single LW episode being handed out for free, one at a time (though S5 is still going through the process). Who knows, maybe it'll just be something they do yearly.
  10. The skins aren't neccessary at all. Want and need are very different things. You want the skins, but they have no bearing on gameplay at all. If you can't manage to create a legendary in 12-18 months, you're doing the wrong things to complete that goal, and that's on you. I can rest easy knowing that's the same mentality the devs have.
  11. Yeah, don't rush. New players don't need the absolute end all, be all gear immediately. They are meant as very long term goals, not something you take care of in a few days. The gear functionality is already on the TP. The skins aren't necessary. No need to make gen 2 BoE.
  12. My favorite race for anything is Sylvari. That said, Asura have some of my favorite animations, from the flips and spins, to the way they run with the GS drawn. I just realized I never finished the Asura storyline (going through rando achievements one day), and I forgot how much I like their movement. Also, you can never go wrong with a giant Charr or Norn. Really, though, you just need to pick something you're going to enjoy, because I've lost interest in characters simply because I didn't like their aesthetic.
  13. Though it may be annoying, I don't think doing the absolute minimum, while being at the keyboard typing, is against any rule. If people are controlling their characters directly, and even sitting behind their keyboard, they haven't broken any rules. Just kind of a leech.
  14. Seemed to me like they want a way to be a credit card warrior, especially with that "real life currency" part at the end.
  15. I don't even care how it performs, I'm going GS/hammer for sure. I'm gonna imagine it will do at very leas okay, and should be decent in open world stuff.
  16. Wording is everything. Are you new COULD seem a little rude (not really, but for the conversation). "Have you been playing long" is a good way to find out, while giving you an out of they get offended, by saying something like "I ask lots of people I meet." I think it's all just a matter of conversation. If you just ask, it might seem toxic, since emotion cannot be conveyed through text easily, but talking with people before asking how long they've played blunts the edge a lot. Also, if you whisper someone, and the don't respond, they probably don't want help, but if they do perpetuate the conversation, they may be open to it.
  17. If a helm comes out, I would say there will be a bundle, but until then, I have a feeling they'll be individual sales.
  18. There are just so many things that carry over into all weight classes, it's impossible at time to use appearance to identify classes. Anything from the gem store is useable any any of your characters, outside of the full armor sets, which are very few. Even if you could tell the difference in the armor weight, that still leaves you with 3 possibilities, since the only restriction at that point would be cultural armor. Honestly, it's difficult to see anything past the abilities anyway, lol.
  19. No man, you just need to change the definition of words, then it all makes sense. Judge: I sentence you to 20 yea... Defendant: Your honor, I swapped the meanings of murder and tickle, sooo... Judge:... ... ... you're free to go.
  20. Before I even opened the thread, I was thinking Mes, lol. A mesmer and I (power reaper) held off an entire team at mid (more than likely more than a few bots), while the other 3 kept the other 2 nodes capped. It felt like a good back and forth between us. It helped that we were able to watch for each other, and assist with CC.
  21. Honestly, I'm moving away from the WoW style MMO. I'm done with tab targeting, and auto attacking. I have really been enjoying new world, so much that I've gotten way over leveled for my MSQ from leveling all the weapons and skills (though the gear professions are falling behind). That game reminds me a lot of this one in many ways with the combat, exploration (mostly just a beautiful world I feel compelled to see), and the big PvP events (which reminds me more of GW2 than ESO for sure). I think games would do better just trying to be as great as they can be, and not focus on "killing WoW." That's why I love this game so much, too. It just tries to do it's own, GW2 thing, and it isn't like all those clones, and I'll be very excited to explore all the new maps in beautiful Cantha.
  22. Nah, that guy is talking pay to win in this game, where all you're doing is gaining a big convenience. I was speaking of armor, but it's all semantics to the point. Someone could spend a million dollars in this game, and never have an advantage over a person that enjoys playing, and has for years. That's part of the beauty of horizontal progression.
  23. He's talking about for soak mechanics, or something that is meant to get extra attention. Just an arrow over the character's head, pointing down at them while slowly moving up and down. I don't know if GW2 uses anything like that. I've not seen it, or don't remember if I have.
  24. Grinding, or farming, can be fun. I grind gold. Gold is used for many things, but mostly for converting to gems in my case (and buying some exotic 4 stats on the TP for my alts, since you can do that now, lol). Do you like to PvP? WvW? Meta events? Raids? Strikes? Dungeons? Fractals? World completion? There are many ways to make gold. One of the absolute easiest is just logging on every day for 28 days, and selling your coins, and using the laurels to buy heavy bags, and sell that stuff. I know for me, the DX update allows me to be logged in and get the daily chest in about 60 seconds. There is a content creator/(newly active) streamer named cellofrag that has many helpful videos for many aspects of the game, and he has the most giveaways of anyone I've ever seen in any game. It wouldn't hurt to check out some of his money-making guides, and maybe some of the people he also recommends. You just need to know what to do to make gold, and cello has a video giving at least one way for every game mode. Also, halloween bags are bank. Sell them.
