  1. Canach has probably been a shoehorn for my favourite character since I first played LS2 (I never played Ls1) - so I will eagerly await more of his shenanigans! That said, I do hope they focus on developing the existing cast - Jory and Kasmeer seem to be on some sort of honeymoon in the montains (they sure aren't doing anything to stop kralk), and Rox still feels like the friend of a friend... which makes it hard to care about her.
  2. Finishing the boss fight in the Dragons Reach: Part 2. I didn't use a guide, played a kamakaze staff elementalist, didn't know any way to cheese the fight, lost ALL of my armour... but I still won, KDA be damned. (This was when I was new, just before HoT came out)
  3. I think telling people how to use the "/wiki" function is the kindest thing a person can say or do in most situations. Why would people suggest something that they wouldn't be willing to do themselves? The wiki editors do great work, and anyone can access it anytime with an in-game chat command... so long as you can spell what you're looking for.
  4. I love your idea to resize objects, but if I could just add to your wishlist... 1) Remove the Assembly Device entirely. This is important.2) For the prices we pay for some of these decorations, it would be cool if we got more than 1 item per recipie (things like pot plants, hedges, trees, urns, small statues - things that would be placed multiple times in a small area).
  5. The compliment is more meaningful if you type it out, however clumsy. Sometimes it turns awkward, sometimes you make a friend, sometimes they aren't looking to make friends. You can't tell that by simply spamming an emote at someone.
  6. Oof, if you find the awnser, please come back to enlighten us. :s I've been searching for that "goal" for awhile. Personally, I continue to play because I like the guild I'm in. The game is more fun when you're surrounded by fun people, I guess?
  7. Scribing is a trash skill and really isn't worth it. In every guild I've been a part of, guild members have either: ~ Started crowd funding for 400 scribe (but never did anything with it beyond making a single object, usually an uzalon's orchistra or Globe of Secrets)~ Donated raid and event trophies and nothing else. (gl getting people to donate snow, luck, furniture coins or candy corn for holliday decorations)~ Stuffed the guild bank with <90copper mini's, dyes and trash that won't sell on the trading post (while selling any usable scribing related good worth $$$)~ Relied on a handful of people to fund, plan or place decorations.~ Filled the Assembly Device with cheap recipies while training scribing, but never bothering to queue them. You're honestly so much better off just ignoring the skill entirely. Even its primary purpose, building guild flags and wvw siege, is kinda cost-prohibitive.
  8. I pulled these points from the official site. I think these three tidbits should awnser your questions Hall of Monuments FAQ - https://hom.guildwars2.com/en/faq/ So: ~ Proph + EotN should give 3 HoM points.~ You likely have to visit HoM to get those points. (which is literally the first place you go to when you start the EotN expansion)
  9. I'm 99.9% sure those 3 HoM points are unlocked when you link accounts while owning EotN, regardless of whether you have entered EoTN or not. The HoM rewards calculator, at the very least, seems to assume all linked accounts will have at least 3 points.
  10. If you want to find out why people want Tengu as playable characters, check a forum page dedicated to why people want to play Tengu. Some people have (weird) tastes. Personally? I couldn't care less about a new race, I just wanna know what is over that giant wall of theirs.
  11. I kind of want a panda, but I'm 90% sure they had problems with China when they tried to throw one into Gw1 Factions. Maybe a red panda? =) The mini is so cool, and I think it's worth training her to go for the eyes!
  12. Hmm... I don't think I've bought anything that I would want a refund for. Then again, I typically buy fashion related items that I tend to cycle through bi-monthly. If we include in-game items, I guess I would refund my Shining Blade. I mean, it's okay... But it's no dreamer or exordium.
  13. I'd say aim for both while keeping the other in mind. Griffon isn't particuarly hard to get, the hardest thing was the 250g paywall. Skyscale requires 23 charged quartz if you don't want to buy anything off the trading post, so I'd start charging Quartz (and hoarding Ls4 currencies) today.
  14. As an OCE player in the EU servers, I have to admit that I would leave my friends and move to a OCE server if it offered less than 60-70 ping. And, hey, even if there are only 10 people in wvw/pvp at a time... at least our skills will connect. B)
  15. Nightfall introduces Heroes, many of which are easy to obtain at the beginning of the expansion. From what I understand, it's common for new characters to make a beeline directly for EoTN and Nightfall (even durring Prophecies/Factions) specifically to pick up these heroes before resuming the story, since they're so much better than henchmen. Heroes definately make the game much less of a slog, especially after being ambushed for the 5 millionth time by a devourer patrol.
  16. Lightbringer~ Like the order of whispers agents, only cooler.
  17. One of the things I liked when I played gw1 was that my choice of pet was purely cosmetic. I didn't feel particurarly bonded with my melandru's stalker, so I picked up one of those cute little warthogs instead. Statwise, I didn't feel punished for doing so. In Gw2, pets are chosen based on their ability rather than character theme or whatever cosmetic measure you employ to pick a pet. If this is the way Anet wants to balance the class, why not buff racial skills so we can have meta races too?
  18. Inb4 Tybalt, Sieran and Forgal somehow turn up in ls5 after being lost for 3 years. Stranger things have happened, after all...
  19. I like the idea that confusion is more effective on enemies with a high skill spam, and wish Anet used it as a model for other conditions. Enemies seldom use heal skills (making poison useless), seldom move (making torment useless) and bleed/burn are just boring. And for everything else, it's covered by the breakbar. Where is the smart gameplay potential?
  20. What do you mean? Lightning Hammer and Frost Bow each give the Elementalist much needed hard-cc for breakbars, and can and should be taken if needed. Firey Greatsword is also a dps-gain or mobility boost (albeit on a large timer). I feel as though Earth Shield would be great if this game didn't have this "ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!" PBAoE mentality... ... and then there's flame axe. But nobody talks about firey axe... What game mode doesn't glyph of storms work in? It can provide AoE vulnerability (air) or blinds (earth) or, at the very least, more dps than autoattack (fire) - all of which can be useful depending on the situation. You could argue there are better choices for WvW or PvP, but it's a great all-round PvE skill. If anything, I'm more surprised you didn't talk about Elementalist Cantrips or Signets. I don't think I've ever used a cantrip or signet besides the Signet of Fire (which is phased out in fractals, since you don't need the extra precision) or maybe signet of air when I'm below level 35... I think you made my point what wrong with the balancing of the core skills. If your just looking at these things from pve points of view your missing most of the games effects. If your just using lighting hammer and frost bow for hard cc on brake bars your missing the point of the weapons. Lightning hammer is a hard cc dps wepon frost bow is an odd ball dmg healing wepon. GS is raw dps for sure but its one of the least updated of them in the game. Flame axe was never worth any thing.Alternitively, you could see it as half the skills having some worth in WvW or PvP, while the other half have some use in PvE. It's not quite like thief, where you have two lines of bad skills that rely on gimmicks like Permastealth to even stand a chance at working (Venoms, Traps, I'm looking at you... Basilisk venom, you're good though owo) - so you end up seeing builds in PvP that you could concievably just port over to fractals.

  22. Half the skills in any every class seems so situational that they may as well be an F-key skill (except guardian, who has a tool or trick for basically any situation). We've long since passed the point where a non-damaging single target pull (scorpian wire) or 2x1second immobilise (devourer venom) will do anything to help either yourself or the party. Especially since breakbars prevent these skills from doing what they were designed to do.
  23. I did one meta event I stumbled upon, went to lions arch and got 5 boxes of loot. I mean, I can't complain, but I can't say I really care either? :s
  24. Fractal birds or slippery slope in sPvP... The thought terrifies me That chaos pvp kinda sounds like fun.
  25. I used to be a clicker, but then I begun using my keyboard. It wasn't easy to adjust from other games, but it was worth it. My advice:Remove your left, right and backwards key. You don't need it. You never needed it. They're bad. Don't use them. keybind:[Tab] Target next enemy[q] left strafe[w] Forward[E] right strafe[R] autorun[F] Interact This allows you to keybind 67890/Dodge/Special/About Face/Jump key skills to your [a][d][z][x][c][v][shift][spacebar]. Any skills or abilities you need to use should be accessable to your keyboard hand without much movement, while your other hand should never leave the mouse. Using qwe as your movement keys also allows me to easily reach my 12345 keys. It feels awkward at first, almost laughably unplayable, but eventually it just becomes second nature.
