  1. All my characters, even my level 30, have been getting seeds and special cuts. My biggest problem is getting poultry to drop, a simple, regular meat. Drakes seem to be best for the meat, in my experience. Lake Doric is a good spot for herbs, as well as the patch in Sandswept Isles and Kourna.
  2. It's a little harder to organize stuff right after a new release. People will be back, don't worry. I don't see folks staying on the new map forever. The metas are fun, but not very rewarding.
  3. I know I can have a mouth like a sailor, but I didn't even notice until looking for it after this thread was started. It's VERY tame, and fits the Charr culture (as much as a teen game can, anyway). I'm guessing OP didn't pass the two charr discussing Rytlock and saying, "I'd tap that" then. Not swearing, but surprised it didn't offend them.
  4. I use griffon/ skyscale personally because it's easy to skip over annoying mobs. But definitely raptor or jackal (your preference) over beetle. That sucker is pretty hard to control. Bam! Into a tree! Oops! Off a cliff...
  5. You might really enjoy Guardian. Core guardian itself is very good. On mine I tend to run dragonhunter for PVE solo stuff, but group content I switch to Firebrand to hand out boons and heals. It's fun doing that in meta events as well. Dead people? No problem, rez from a distance. Or shadowstep over to rez. Want some retaliation? No problem. Might? Got you covered. In the medium armor category, Ranger might be good for you as well. I don't do PvP, but I think Soulbeast is popular there, especially for roaming. It's also good PVE, or core Ranger is still meta for that as well. Want to heal? Druid is a top healer. So maybe stick with those two? If you've only done core stuff, you'll find the expansions much more challenging, also. So be ready!
  6. I liked Bangar a lot. Slick, too slick. Especially for a warrior. Lets you know he's one to let others get their paws dirty for him. And his voice actor was amazing.
  7. I didn't see one, and thought it odd as well. I have a roller beetle, so wasn't an issue, but still...
  8. Use low or lowest setting on character models and you won't see it (or at least much less of it). I don't care for all the visual clutter either. Not necessary to look good. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised last night to get a whispered compliment on my mesmer (from someone with all sorts of glow). She simply has the mist set from Dragonfall (not the blooming). Of course, didn't hurt that I'd just landed on my Shimmerwing too. They loved the color choice. :)
  9. The old one I just kept repeating until he finally gave me some easy, repeated items. Water several times, and apple pie. lol But yeah, you can get a mesmer (if you're on NA I'll help) to get past that point. Also, check Dulfy guides for other masteries.
  10. Even on my potato laptop, I have no issue mounting with a custom skin. Default skin, same mount, buried nearly every time. Not cool.
  11. Wow, some of us don't have 20/20 vision (mine is 20/500), so give us a little break, Anet!
  12. My thing is I can cancel WoW at any time, it looks like to buy the expansion and all those gems im looking at going 70 dollars (which is not bad). Right now WoW is 30 bucks in total for all games including BfA and comes with a month. After that one month I could decide I hate the current iteration cancel it and ive only spent 30 bucks. Its more of a money up front for permanence vs I could not like it after a month and be done. I guess a way to look at it would be season passes to call of duty. I loved all call of duty's up until modern warfare 2 and black ops. But every single year I buy the new call of duty plus the season pass hoping it'll be as good as it was. Usually I am let down by the likes of infinite warfare and black ops 4. Now instead of spending the other 40 that was the deluxe edition for the season pass they could of offered an option where im paying 5 dollars a month (lowered price because well its cod not a live service) and after realizing it was terrible the first month I did not commit 100 dollars instead I committed 65. But the price is not bad and I enjoyed guild wars since the very beginning of the first game. My friend tends to be the more stingy one when it comes to money and I don't want him to be turned away by another purchase after the fact. I do have another question though, I have a lot of gold sitting on my old character, if I buy the living world with gold is it unlocked across the account? Your gold is shared account wide, and so are expansions and living world unlocks. So as long as the characters are on the same account, they will all have access. The same goes for mastery points as well. Once you unlock gliding or mounts for example, all characters will have it.
  13. I wouldn't be sad to see Braham go. My Norn are embarrassed to be associated with that.
  14. It's been 7 years. Gaheron was killed in Citadel of Flame, back in core Tyria. Since then, they've had no real leader and been at constant war with the rest of the charr, suffering heavy losses. The non-zealots are tired, and want a chance for peace. Can't answer the GW1 part, never played that.
  15. Some platform boots and big shoulder armor? Think KISS... didn't one of the charr also have similar make up/ markings? ;)
  16. There's a lot of high spots to start from with griffon. I don't use mine much since skyscale, but enjoyed zipping around the new map some yesterday on it. My only real complaint is that the events are on "Tyrian time". Sorry, neither my watch nor server time sync up to that. Something we can actually plan for please? Or put a Tyrian time option on the clock.
  17. I hate jumping puzzles. I suck at them. I have no issue with them creating them for people like them, but to lock map completion behind it is really unfair. Now I have to wait for mesmers or others to sell a port so I can complete the new map.
  18. I don't do ports often, because I suck at jumping puzzles. But if I've made it up and see others below, I'll pop a quick portal just because I can. I don't expect a tip, but it's always nice if someone does. When I was helping a friend with her skyscale, I ported a few grateful people up to the top of that wall in Fireheart Rise.
  19. I recommend new players do it once without boosting and without jumping ahead for mounts and gliders. Experience it at least once the way it was intended. I dragged a friend into the game, and I ran on foot with her until she reached gliding and mounts naturally. Now she's leveling a new character and can't believe she did without a mount before. lol It's a good experience. I still go on foot sometimes. Especially on my asura dragonhunter. She can kill anything that might jump her, and it amuses me to see things from her tiny perspective. Often I can't hardly see through the grass. :p
  20. Wall stick isn't much of a big deal for me. It's sticking to trees that drives me batty. Mostly because it's difficult to know if you'll fly on through the thin branches or decide to hang on.
  21. Revenant is a harder class to play for me, but I did ok until I hit 80 content (Season 2). lol I used hammer for my ranged weapon and sword/sword for melee. Usually stayed in Dwarf stance, but Demon is handy when dealing with conditions. I only used Ventari when running dungeons as a healer. If you're coming from a lot of other MMOs, what may be getting you is the fact you need to dodge. Stay out of any red rings (or in expansion content, orange areas). Practice dodging, because you'll definitely need it once you get past the core story!
  22. Both my asura have the same face. I can't stand the others. Charr males need some better faces too. Most of them are hideous and need extreme dental work. :p
