  1. lol wut? Hornet Sting evade was trash, it was a good repositioner and still is "you more often dont hit someone with it than you do." Have you even used the new leap + serpent's yet or are you posting from work?

You can play anything as anything in this game It's about whether you're actually making a difference in the fight at all.That's precisely why commanders used to ask people to bring anything other than ranger because almost anything was better at everything. Yes, you can still play wackamole with GS in a zerg but you are objectively worse off now than you were before these changes. This isn't even debatable. +15 endurance isn't even remotely as good as 1s evade on auto cycle. Removing the auto activation on counterattack is good but that was only ever a problem when you were blocking an attack from a person in melee range. If you're using it to block red ring spam, you're not likely to notice any difference. If you feel ranger doesn't contribute to a zerg in the way you like...just change to a class that does what you like no?! In a game with 9 different professions, they're bound to be limitations to each one. I play ranger for its duellist abilities and favourable soloplay..but I have other professions for more zerg play, under no circumstances I would accept to lose those roaming abilities for zergplay..that's not what I signed forThere's no such thing as a "roaming class" anymore That's an outdated concept from a time when classes had hard design philosophy Petty much the only one that doesn't lend itself well to roaming is the necro because of it's limited mobility which hurts on maps as open as the WvW ones Mobility also more or less went out the window with mounts which is why "roamers" wont stop bitching about them
  3. What I want to know is why a chair designed for a race with a tail, has no hole in the back for them to sit comfortably? Even if the size were big enough, you'd expect such a feature so they wouldn't have to curl their tails around and avoid sitting on them when using a chair they themselves designed
  4. Probably because people want to actually be heard. Spamming doesn't help that. All it does is annoy the neutral and blend into white noise for the uncaring. You're actively hurting your case.No what it does is counteract anet's attempt to perform damage control by shepherding dissent into a containment thead
  5. Well it simplifies things being built in to the game. I know some people don’t like change but sometimes change is necessary for evolution. Charging money for what was free in the previous game (and was free here with an add on) is some bizarre evolution to be sure
  6. You can swap out your class build at any time in standard WoW You can swap skill/attribute points in ESO for in game currency You can literally change your character's entire class at any time in FF14 Not sure where this "Most" you speak of is coming from
  7. hornet sting still works the exact same way it always did and you can spam the leap every 8s (or less on HS hit) to bounce around They also swapped the cooldowns so serpent's strike (the good evade) is every 8'ish seconds The only thing it needs is a bigger window for SS to be used instead of the 3s we have now we all have to relearn the weapon but I suspect this will be a massive buff for people who want to kill and the people who want to dance with the weapon It's such a buff that I'm almost willing to forgive the LB and GS nerfs because not only is 1h just flat better now, it's so dramatically changed that we have a whole new toy to play with. That's the kind of thing you don't really get outside of an Espec release

We lost the ability to function in zerg fights and had our one good weapon for picking off people out of position nerfed by ~10% No amount of tweaks to 1h sword are going to make up for that Keep in mind that other classes got buffs and adjustments as well What ever piddly support we get in team fights always needs to be measured against what the already god tier classes got. It's why druid is complete garbage while Firebrand/Scrapper exist.
  10. I can see how "simply functional" can seem like "over performance" when, by raw numbers, the norm for pets is to be totally useless.
  11. Wow, I didn't know that all ppl I killed in 1 vs 1 (in sPVP and WvW) with the LB was because they were idiots. Be aware, is not me I am saying this, it is you. You learn something new everyday

  15. serpent's strike needs a much larger window of use similar to thief sword 2 but it's a good change in either case
  16. Bow now does barely more than axe auto, at max range Pretty sure axe does more per hit at 900 range and attacks faster Anet effectively nuked our 2 core pvp weaons with a single update and tried to balance it with a clunky sword rework Incredible...
  17. Is that why they nerfed our ranged potential in WvW, insist on all our ranged attacks be projectiles, and refuse to give us any decent ranged aoe?
  18. 10 second chain stuns are not conducive to survival when you are soloing the story. You eventually run out of or miss a dodge at some point. ??? I literally just stood inside of it and auto'ed it to death Just jump when you see the shockwaves That's been an obvious "do x now" thing since they updated Tequila Sunrise years ago

Most of the map-themed weapons are like that: the Theme itself is often nice and fitting but the Art and polycount is horrible. the chakk weapon's biggest problem is one that anet runs into frequently in that they put too much consideration on the "theme" and less on the actual design A weapon set that looks like it was made from chakk claws and mandibles would look great (think monster hunter gear)What we got was a bunch of gear that look like you threw a normal weapon and a chakk into "The Fly" teleporter and this is what popped out Only the focus which is just a detached chakk "hand" really got it right on that one
  20. the class needs AoE damage to be zerg material, not support We already failed twice in that regard with Druid heals and SB stance share and aren't unseating Firebrand or healbot scrappers with their anti projectile skills A far easier way would be to change up our axe skills in wvw. Make all 1200 rangeAdd extra bounces to axe 1 (at least the default 3), make the damage multiply based on bounces to balance 1v1 combat if necessary (possible alternate change to just make it a splash aoe like the Staff Ele fireball)Remove the projectile status of path of scars so it can't be negated, increase the target cap to 5 or more (reduce cooldown to maximize CC spam and adjust damage as needed)Make whirling defenses a mobile skill. Increase cooldown if proven to be too powerful in small scale combatThe only other hope for the class is Anet to roll out a 3rd espec where we just fart out easy massive damage AoE's like the necro which is almost certainly never going to happen. Ultimately, these are all just pipe dreams to be honest. All the ranger's gonna get for the forseeable future is our longbow damage nerfed into the ground so people can zip around on mounts with 0 risk
  21. Because I am an altoholic. That would mean running every character around and I currently have 15 or so. Now multiply that by every episode and some will have longer times. I have a life, I am not about to do the same thing in a game 15 times every few months because of bad design. Not that this one was just 'two minutes' ... did you time it? The biggest thing though is portals are free once you have it and teleports cost. So it's bad design because you feel compelled to get more characters on the map ASAP than most people will ever make? Sounds like a personal problem to be honest.

MMO's focusing on being dreadfully dull part time jobs is why the genre is effectively dead in the West Most of the pve skins in the game were part of the game's launch 7 years ago and many look so bad they could be gw1 gear Modern BLC weapons often have higher poly counts than an entire set of vanilla armor
  24. It's a race of sentient predators who live in a total militaristic society where nearly everyone is taught how to kill before they're even adults. The entire prologue is about them dealing with the reality that they no longer have anything to channel their hyper aggression on and the decisions that arise from that. If anything, it was fairly tame given the games "pg13" 'ish rating. Charr saying "hell" and (word for someone without a father) only seems out of place because this game has been as tame as a Disney movie so far. Actually noticeably even more so given the language of the last Avengers film.
  25. Its super funny you know... All those threads about 'bring back druid for competitive'..... Druid is a class for PvE raids, it has been said by anet hundreds of times. Soulbeast was designed for competitive like all the PoF specs. Not that anet knows what to do with it thou... They could have made Druid decent in WvW zergs but they decided that it was more important to make Scrapper into a heal bot rather than the one spec that does absolutely nothing but heal
