  1. I remember one time I jumped in to help someone kill something in Bjora Marches and ended up getting the Prize of the Boneskinner backpiece immediately after. It was a long time after that episode came out and I don't even remember why I was there in the first place - but it was a nice surprise and reminded me to check the achievement rewards more often.
  2. If you're talking about the person I think you're talking about, I would stay very very far away from anything they have to say, either in game or in a "novel".
  3. It really is a lovely area and whenever there are Ascalon-related dailies, I tend to do them in Grothmar. Every so often I'm there for the rock concert and sometimes there are first-timers there. Their reaction to it is always fun to hear.! 🙂
  4. Lots of good answers in this thread, one thing to consider too when getting the "check the wiki" answer is that some people might just be on your map for a very short time and not able to devote the time to provide an in-depth answer. So to give a response so you don't feel ignored, and to try to be helpful they point to you the wiki as a place you can bookmark and spend time with.
  5. Yes, very slow here. I've never seen it take this long.
  6. If you don't want to commission art, can you get a good high-res screenshot and send it to one of those places that put photos on canvas and get it framed? Might be worth looking into...
  7. Wishing you a good one, whatever that is for you and yours at this time of year.
  8. Crashing for me too. No 3rd-party programs. Mail might be full with the festival notice. Crashed on login on my alt account too. That one doesn't have possibility of full mail. ooo just saw the post about shadow settings...going from ultra to high worked for me! THANK YOU!
  9. I've been seeing this for weeks in Queensdale map chat while running my weekly key character, reporting and blocking each time. Keeps coming back with variations on the same vile names and spams map chat with this vile stuff.
  10. Oh that's good to know! I save up my weekly key run keys to open twice a year, on my birthday and at the end of Wintersday, so I'm always opening a bunch of boxes in a row.
  11. I bought a karma booster on my alt account yesterday and got the blue The Extra Life title, but the hat hasn't shown up for me. I've gone into Lion's Arch a few times this evening to see if it would arrive, but nothing so far. Is there a specific trigger for it? I thought that maybe after tonight's reset it might pop for me. UPDATE: got it tonight along with the karma from the final tier. 🙂
  12. I previewed the hat on all my characters and found two who can pull off the look this hat gives them. My male norn looks really good in it, and my male asura looks like a goofball, but in a good way. I got quite a few laughs seeing it on my others, especially my female charr. I missed it the first time around and I'm happy to have it. I would not be opposed to a different logo on it to preserve the special-ness of the original.
  13. Thanks! Yeah, I did one yesterday and got credit for the daily but nothing for the WvW Beta Veteran. Whatever the fix that worked for other people did, it hasn't worked for me.
  14. I captured a camp this afternoon after the patch and didn't get credit. It counted towards the daily but didn't count toward the beta veteran achievement. Neither of my two accounts got credit, I played both after the patch.
  15. Well we know they can instance the Core in the Black Citadel... (sorry, I couldn't resist)
  16. I got some screenshots for my scrapbook, including some where there were tons of people standing on it and hovering around it on their skyscales (including Kent).
  17. Yeah, in LOTRO apart from the starter area entry point stables, you have to discover a stable master via exploration before you can use slow or swift travel to it.
  18. Do you mean the slow stable routes? For anyone not familiar, this is paying at a stable-master to get on a horse that rides thru the landscape to the destination stable, and you can dismount at any point along the way. There isn't any glowy path like in some other games. Also LOTRO has a feature for many (most?) quests that lets you pay with real-money currency (mithril coins) to return directly to the quest-giver. I've never used that one myself.
