How many attempts could I expect for one succesful Dragons End run?

Recommended Posts

Did it in 2 attempts.

I feel a lot of people are doing it wrong though. They're trying to get in at the assault phase. Your chance to succeed is much greater if you're on a map from the begining of the preperations phase all the way through to the end of it.

This what I normally have done. The hilarious thing too is that the pre escort can fail with the guy getting stuck. I don't think they've even patched that bug and members of my squad were saying they've seen it before.

Third attempt, but 58 of us were split into 3 organized squads. (2 people were fishing during the whole meta)

If everyone follow tag, use Waystation and have 10% increase due to events and full defensive and offensive bonus, it sure makes it easier.

But you cannot get this every time (and you should not, this is open world, emphasis on OPEN).

I think that i did it 4-5 times and fall on a good commander knowing the meta very well.

I wasn't in the squad, but he speak in local chat giving order when it was needed. The players was seeming knowing how to play the meta.

I think that falling on a squad with people knowing what to do and with a good commander is really helpfull for this meta. Specially when cc was needed to make more damage at the boss.

I learned that we can avoid damage when the crystal will be broken with going behind this commander.

This evening first time, finished with little under 3 minutes spare. To be fair, I've joined a discord channel and found a group that was just  about to start. I saw some streamers tackle it as well so I was familiar with the mechanics. Everyone was pretty laid back and despite the horrible lag and 15 FPS when all 3 groups were together, it was actually great fun.

Yes, I've died a couple times in the end when I saw the telegraphs to late but that only makes we wanna go again and get better at it. I got back for End of Dragons after a long hiatus so by no means am I running the perfect build with the perfect gear.

After the looting the commander asked what our win / loss streaks were and over half the people in the squad were first-timers like me, just random people who signed up on the LFG or discord and kicked some dragon butt. I guess having everyone on +10% and have both jade tech offensive and defensive buffs helps a lot.

My personal experience was 9 fails, 1 success.  Some people get it much sooner, and one guy I talked to yesterday failed 30 with no success.  It's a bit of a gamble unless you get into an organized group that's not listed on the LFG tool.  The OP of the following post helped me with my first success.  Really nice guy trying his hardest to actually help.  Just be ready to actually listen to advice.

I was able to do it in four attempts. Like someone else said, the trick seems to be looking for squads that are starting on fresh maps to make sure the preparation phase is done properly and everyone has 10 buff stacks/is actually participating in the meta and not just AFK. That was the attempt I succeeded at (as well as being in voice chat over Discord, with an organized commander). Each time I failed I was looking for squads right as the event was beginning.

Organized squads also fill up in minutes, so it can feel like there aren't as many squads in LFG. You need to be constantly watching, and then of course also get lucky enough to actually squeeze into the map. The whole thing is a mess lol. I wish the game's LFG and map queue systems were better.  I think that alone would reduce a lot of frustration.

Thanks for the mention although I'm a lady 😉  We've had 9 wins with the meta group I run, lots of repeats. If you aren't sure how to build something to work with the meta, we have builds and will take you to the aerodome to test them out and get used to it. Alacrity and Quickness builds are ALWAYS in demand. So are druid/ranger spirits and Warrior BannerBaes

4th failure unfortunately. Commander blames RNG. Going straight for 5th attempt.

5th one: Success!

Thanks to commander "Feral Catmander" and his gang.

/cheer

Still I wish that the meta would be more accessible. So if ANet decides to nerf it somehow, I would be happy about it.

I wish it were the case, it ain't. Even with the event damage boosts, only best run was 20% phase.
