QOL Requests: New for 2024

Recommended Posts

Returning player here, and I only have a few hours to play on mostly non prime time hours. I'm trying to accomplish a few things in Dragonfall, and yet the few hours I had to play today none of the Waypoints were up because of some event that no one was pushing. This is absurd that the waypoints can be down for hours on old expac content. Talk about QoL, I think having the waypoints up and usable would be.

Or, alternatively, you could've pushed the waypoint and fixed the issue within minutes? 🫠

Those specific events in Dragonfall are designed to be completable solo, which is why there are so many NPCs around you to help.

I can appreciate your issue, but it's highly unlikely that will change.

It's part of the story, and current DF overall lore... if you like.

However, I know that some waypoints can be difficult to solo... it's all subjective here.

Depends which class you use, and many other factors.

If you need help and are in EU server, let me know what time you're on, and I'll help you.

I can try bring a few guild members with me too.

Or... you could also join a guild, if you don't fancy mine, and ask for help.

I can help you regardless.

I don't mind, as I am mostly in WvW anyways.

But yeah. Some QoL requests... well, let's just say that if it changes the overall game ambience, I can't see it changing.

You can also put an LFG, as a last resort.

There are always people like you, who just live in a world of rainbows. Not everyone has the time to hope on and push events to make waypoints open....the point of my QoL post.

hi, could we add a feast (doesn't need to be ascended just needs to have a sharing tray) that gives just magic find, karma, and XP/WXP, no stat bonuses (or stat bonuses of things like vitality and downed health). For bringing to world boss and such where you don't really need stat foods, but magic find is exciting and some would find karma useful too. But please made without using a ton of festival mats. Alternatively could you make the birthday blaster last longer, allow to be overwritten by a better food, and even possibly trade 6 blasters and 6 gold for 1 cake.

Could we also reduce the population cap on just those maps where people group but you don't need max players since everyone plays in the same spot (for example, lay line anomoly, claw of jormag). Obviously maps where you need several different groups (Tarir, etc) could stay more like they are now. Alternatively some of these bosses could scale better, but having so many people in such a small area seems to cause lag as well as causing vision issues especially for people with sensory gating issues. So I like the first option better myself.

i believe there is a food that may fit your criteria: the Omnomberry bar (it is close, it does not have karma but gives bonus gold instead).  It has a feast variant, however the cost of getting the feast recipe is a bit much for what it offers (requiring 50 mystic coins).  A quality of life suggestion i would like to add to this post is to update the feast recipe.  with the advent of ascended food, using 50 mystic coins for a lower level feast recipe is a bit much and an old hold over from when the game launched and mystic coins were not 1-2gold each.  I would recommend reducing the mystic coins to something like 5 or 10 and increasing the number of omnomberry bars required to 10, making the recipe more about the food than mystic resources.

You just complained you wasted hours waiting for the waypoints to pop up. I'm telling you fixing that issue would've taken you minutes, and running a single, barely failable event, on a map well known for taking at least an hour to complete, and being all about running as many events as possible.

You chose to let this be an issue by waiting for others to do the work for you when the solution was always within your grasp. I'm literally just telling you your QoL suggestion can already be achieved by playing the map you were already on.  You're welcome to act all passive-aggressive about it if it helps you feel better, though. 🤷‍♂️

[Edit :] Hostility aside, if you're willing to hear me out, those events start at the base Pact Camp. There's one for each allied base. If you want to speed them up, you can even boost the escort NPCs using superspeed to get them to their objective faster. If you are running short on playtime, just do a single one, you'll still get plenty of rewards from one unlocked base and surrounding events. If you have the Jade Bot Personal Waypoint mastery unlocked, this could also help you out once you get further into the map — just be aware it's single use and it has a hefty cooldown.

perhaps not QoL but could Norn's get onehanded passive (running and idle) animations for greatsword?

i've noticed that when you walk with a greatsword you wield it with one hand,

this looks really cool and emphasizes the great strength of norn,

but then when you stop walking the idle makes it look like you're really struggling to carry it.

For asura, yeesh, Rata Sum's already ridiculously packed. I

there are a couple of empty or nearly unutilized balconies off the crafting rooms. One of them seems to be a meant to have been some kind of vigil base, that one might be a good choice. You could even put a portal there and make a completely new space. Alternatively, there's space in the port. Or, wiki claims there's some kind of unused arena, too.

Good points, I love your idea.

Thanks for the info, I've added it to the suggestion and sourced you. I'm glad you like the idea!

[Edit:] To the "sad" reaction person, are you okay? What's going on? You want me to suggest a hug? You've been sad on most suggestions lately. 😥

Yeah I got a QoL request.   Add the corresponding / matching vendor to the Crafting Table you summon using the Permanent Mobile Crafting Station.  K Thanks!

Part of me totally agrees with this suggestion, and another part wants to argue that that particular option would be better suited for the Permanent Black Lion Merchant contract, as in, you add a couple generic crafting tabs to the spawned NPC and you're set.

That being said, I will make the argument that the Permanent Mobile Crafting Station already has the ability of two contracts in one (itself and the Bank Contract), so adding the abilities of a third one to it feels unfair.

if i can add my thoughts...
i think it would be good to have a daily Janthir category in the achievements.
could it be possible to change the Otter blessing enrichment to function like the wurm's one;
like you know, having the opportunity to choose the buff it gives. (i am kinda bored to have that wurm just because i want that buff)

Hi, another (much shorter) QoL suggestion:

  • Make Unstable Magic glider abilities in Secrets of the Obscure use the skill keys and not the utility keys, for coherence's sake. Why is this the only instance of those skills being utilities? It's just confusing and messes up muscle memory for those of us who have played through Season 3 and done multiple instances of the Battle for the Jade Sea. I would've understood if you'd added new attacks, but you didn't, so there really is no reason for this odd choice.
    • Alternatively, if this is intentional, well... be consistent either way and change up the other instances as well. Utilities or skills — which is it folks?

More graphical transitions and fidenltiy. It's 2024...when we pet an animal we really should bend down and touch them.

Another example is the titan rifts. It's half sticking into the earth and when activated it just springs up all awkwardly and then titans instantly are there. No poofs, no animations or effects. Minimal effort. We deserve effects in this fantasy MMO.

It would probably help to put these things on a rotating event timer, weekly acclaim quest, or something similar.

Think I played Season 2 (Dry Top & the other) about two years ago if not mistaken, and it never got to the top tier. Ample zone name. 😉
The underground big plant boss in the second zone was farmed and for sure I was able to finish the story journal.

A massive group of players are following Core Event Timer around, I presume these zones could also use a carrot, or reducing whatever makes them unpopular.

I assume that people still create characters to see the story through once more and sort of finish the zones in immersion.
Which is kind of the point, should experiencing the game sequentially as it happened, take just as long as it did? (years)
Imagine this - I will only play (and pay for) Janthir Wilds once I finish the previous stories. Make it smooth enough to do so. The how is up to you.

Working example - S1E1 mastery required completing two specific fractals. Took a while, but it's on a rotation, so I succeeded (weeks ago).
Here we go, S1E2 mastery... 🙂

Here is a gem shop idea for Anet.

Outfit Templates. 400 gems each. Allows the players to save certain wardrobe and dye combinations as their own outfit. Mechanically, it could go into it's own 'Outfit Template' or it could just be a saved combination that then gets batch selected in the wardrobe section of the hero panel that consumes transmutation charges as appropriate.

I very much agree with the idea to rebalance the costs of feasts. Spending the equivalent of 100 gold coins to get these is ridiculous.

unfortunately, Anet doesn't like money. And a lot of people will start whining about having to pay for a simple feature that should be available since the beginning.

Anet loves money. Did you see that skirt and tube sock gem store skin? The breakdance emote? people love that stuff.

As to this, well, should it have been an option by default? Maybe, but you could say the same thing about build templates and equipment templates.

Right now it's weird that you throw a spear, it disappears from your hand, but the model you throw is different, and it reappears in your hand. At least make some animation for disappear and reappear, and if not, make the spear never disappear, so you throw a "projection" of it. I would love that 🙂

My characters seem to draw their weapons after almost any random generic interaction almost all the time now.

Talk to an NPC? Draw weapon. Open a box? Draw weapon. Gather from a resource node? Draw weapon. Dismount? Draw weapon.

It's not happening on only those actions and not every time, but it's frequent enough to be annoying. This behavior only started with the introduction of JW's spears, and I think it's maybe something related to the awkward "drawn/wielded" stance for the land spear. Something is triggering this state far more often than it should. I considered putting it in the Bugs forum but it's an edge case so it went here instead.

Can this be checked/fixed, please? Brandishing weapons all the time for absolutely no reason is unnecessary, and it didn't used to happen at all.
