Last GW2 update broke ArcDPS and the game got very laggy as ArcDPS won't work properly.

The main error is this one:

error: couldn't find pattern: 73

As I'm using a Addon Loader the solution was changing ArcDPS folder name from arcdps to _arcdps so it wont run it.

Every GW2 update breaks ArcDPS. That's normal. Wait it out a bit until Arc devs can patch it out.

Hmm… to the experts, what is this error?

Tested via Steam and Lutris.

-verify and -repair will crash once it reaches the part where the error above occurs.

This happened while patching.

Not sure what that is but there's no "D" drive in linux, maybe the game is trying to point to a file that's not reachable because the game thinks it should be looking for it in this path, but this path doesn't exist under linux.

I don't have an idea what it could be... But since it's an "IO" and "Incomplete" error, that would be my guess...

Ahh, it's symlinked, though this is the first time I ever had a problem with it.

I think it got corrupted. I tried to copy the Gw2.dat file to the same folder, and another partition, it also encounters the same error somewhere between 3.2 GB and 3.3 GB.

Error splicing file: Input/output error

I don't know what that new major patch did, but I guess I have to re-download 65 GB. T_T This is why I don't like the one-file-fits-all method. If something bad happens, poof, re-download the entire thing again. I wish I have extra space for back-ups. T_T

This doesn't look like patch corruption; the archive format the game uses is designed to repair itself in any and all cases. It looks like a part of the file is physically corrupted, from a power outage, or a bad sector on disk and so on. You may want to run a deep check on the drive you copied it off of.

Making a copy of it won't help if the original is corrupted already.

Anyone having problems with the trading post? Earlier today it was fine, right now there is weird glitching (at the top left, it doesn't move with the TP window) and I don't see anything  in the TP window. I also can't interact with the glitching elements (the glitching elements also don't show up on a recording of the GW2 window).

Have you restarted the game recently? If you're using the ignore GPU crash command, then once it crashes without taking the game with it, the Trading Post isn't going to work anymore without a restart.

I tried to restart it several times, it doesn't help. I am using the option yes, but the behavior is different now. There is never anything in the TP window and there are weird drawing artifacts (the TP window contents, appearing on and off, sometimes glitched) being drawn in the top left corner. I can't use the TP now, essentially. I wasn't paying attention if the game updated itself before starting it this evening, but since its a Tuesday I guess there was a short update.

Could you check the launcher and the treasury window in the guild hall? They also use CoherintUI.

The launcher looked fine though I didn't mess with it (e.g. I didn't try to move it). I'm not in a guild so I can't say about anything in a guild hall.

What is most weird to me is that a recording doesn't capture the weird drawing artifacts.

Here is a recording of the whole screen, not the GW2 window:

Without the argument "-ignorecoherentgpucrash", the game crashes as soon as I open the TP. Though the GUI for the TP is still being redrawn even with the crash dialog open.

winedbg doesn't show anything that looks useful from the crash dump (bt all is a lot of text but nothing that looks interesting either):

I sort of can use the TP flickering/glitchy UI... as in I was able to use the "take all" button...

I switched to proton 7.0-5, TP looks fine. I was using experimental. Switching back to experimental, it worked on the first launch and then its back to bugged on the next launch. 7.0-5 proton works fine over multiple launches. No idea, I'll just stay with 7.0-5 for now.

Keep in mind you can't just switch Wine/DXVK verisons. As detailed in my post linked in my signature, unless you nuke the whole WINEPREFIX you're going to get stale .DLL files. Wine doesn't handle upgrading/downgrading versions very effectively and DXVK doesn't either unless you manually uninstall it first.

This is likely why the bug returned shortly after.

GE-Proton 7.44 has missing or flashing textures and bad post-processing effects (yellow skins at the character selection and the equipment screens, etc.).

7.45 fixed the texture/effect problems but removed DXVK_ASYNC support. Since that, I'm experiencing small stutters and visible fps drops everywhere... 😞

I just use 7.43. No issues there... ASYNC works, FSR works, game works beautifully, just use 7.43. You don't need to use the latest one, use whichever one will make the game work.

Yeah, there's really no benefit to switching to a newer proton if the one you're using works. That's why they keep all the versions.

Yep, I usually skip 3-5 versions between upgrades. I was on 41 before and I just wanted to try the new DXVK2 thingies, but it doesn't seems to work for me, so I went back to 43 now. Other games also had similar problems with 44/45, so I'll wait for a few more versions again until next try.

I had this issue since 2-3 days.

I run with steam, proton experimental, i made the maj of proton and no more issues now.

Is there anything like "yolomouse" for cursor replacement in linux?

The default one is completely lost on me, and the high contrast ones, while great for mid-action, are offset and hard to use in the UI.

I wish there was a middleground...

Have a look at https://github.com/aleios/gw2-cursoroverride. I haven't used it in a while but if I remember correctly, you can use any image for the mouse cursor. Needs arcDPS to work.
