  1. They couldn't bear to be transparent because they themselves knew what they doing is wrong. They knew posting such minimal balance note without any skill balance/adjustment would ruin the launch date. That's why there is nothing in that note (except for nerfing cores - which is quite comforting to say the least) . So we here have to play with broken toys till months or years hoping for a possibility of change.
  2. Queen: "So what are you the commander of ? " (...................) 10000 degree burn. I wonder if the story writer ever wondered Loll. The player characters are practically everyone's coffee shop errand boy.
  3. well yeh, this is a hastily made and released xpack, what do you expect. The fact that no changes made to the several new specializations after beta already gave us a good idea of what to expect in this thing.
  4. Agree. They are at lost at the moment. They tried to fix one thing and end up breaking another unintentionally. It's a mess.
  5. Lol, you know how much it heals for as a heal skill right now? it's absolutely miniscule. They just don't know what they are doing anymore I feel like.
  6. Months of feedbacks and they decided to go with the voice in their head instead. The WB is almost unanimously judged as one of the worst specs and yet is the very one left unchanged. It's the "guardian is in the a good spot" mentality among the devs. Be it a disrespect or being indifferent to the player base, I'm very disappointed regardless. . I just don't know what else to say. I definitely will recommend my gaming friends not to buy gw2 and this exp. They are well off and happy with lost arks as it is.
  7. same for the " willbender". They absolutely did nothing, no fix, no nothing. The level of disappointment. This is the worst launch of all xp
  8. is it me or the , you know, " willbender" get no changes at all? look the same. All utility skill suck. offhand sword still suck. Doesnt seem any changes.
  9. I don't see any changes in traits. Utility looks the same. I dont think they fix anything.
  10. "Our internal testing has shown all the hits perfect hits the training golems at range 180. We think you just have had really really bad luck. Please make sure to get to melee range for hits to connect. Remember: there is no badly designed skills even if they are, there's just bad luck. With love".
  11. Yeh it's so far a huge flop. People poking fun at it whenever WB comes up in map chat. Most youtubers ain't too kind towards WB either. I'm very anxious to see what the "final" version looks like at launch, what kind of changes they make if at all that could salvage this "specialization". But I'm mentally prepared to go in EoD with my DH so I won't get too disappointed.
  12. That would be neat. But i doubt they would. The specializations (catalysts, untamed, "willbender" for example) trigger quite a good amount of negative reactions. I don't think they will risk any fan outrage just right before launch in case people find the changes not agreeable. Don't hold our breath is what i'm saying.
  13. yeh, except those flames tickle. And if you already find it hard to place a ground target aoe effectively normally due to zergs constantly shift positions and formation , just imagine these flames that require you yourself to be the missile to start it. An environmental deer once dodged my WB flame.....by walking.
  14. With the "willbender" under way, along with new exciting and super practical mechanics, how would you go about to engage and survive fights in typical fight situations in WvW, and specifically zerg fight that can melt even the hardiest pets, with the tools given to us?I feel like Virtue trait line is a mandatory for at least staying alive . . . . Please don't say "use staff" or "log in with your ranger" .
  15. I think with Shout and wilderness survival, you at least can hold your own, even with clunky pet management. At least the ranger got it better than the "willbender", who does F1 into fight then die instantly before the hit even connect. Pops like a balloon.
  16. I'm actually running speed rune for both wvw and pvp with a trap-less build that revolves around resolution boon. Speedrune patches up DH's lack of vitality and give you super swiftness, equivalent to superspeed in combat. All berserkers gear or mix Valkyrie so long as I hit around 50% base crit chance. Sigil 5% damage and 7% crit for general game play. I do radiance line, picking all 3 bottom traits - this line will give you 10% extra crit when hitting burning enemy. 25% extra crits and 150 ferocity, 10% extra damage when you have resolution on. Virtue line with unscathe contender for 20% mod when aegis is up. Virtue of Resolution gives extra resolution boon duration and more sources. Absolute resolve and Indomitable justice for sustain. DH line i took Big game hunter for 15% mod when tethering target, Zealous aggression for 10% damage against crippled foe. Dull senses for more sources of cripple. Note that Pure of sight give up to 15% damage at max range 1200. Utility: free slot, save yourself, Advance, Feel my wrath. Basically I start a fight with feel my wrath, then quickly tether a target (which activates big game hunter and also bonus against crippled foe) and longbow 5 (also cripples foes). Before the big final pulse of LB 5, activate Save yourself, then true shot the target. Then switch to sword/shield or focus and do sword 2 and 3 to bust down whatever left of his health. Feel my wrath and save yourself will give you a near 100% crit chance total in combination with base crit chance. Then you get 10% damage mod for resolution boon, 20% mod of aegis being up (use advance shout to up aegis if you lost it before the spike), 15% from big game hunter , 10% against crippled, up to 15% from distance positioning. That's alot of damage modifiers stacking. Basically you want to shuff Lb5, trueshot, sword 2 and 3 within the 10 second God mode the save yourself shout give you. You can image how devastating a 100% crit chance True shot and longbow 5 can be with all those modifiers. at ideal situation I could crit an elem for 10-12k true shot. Heavy armor classes probly take 6-9k depends on their toughness. Use F2/F3, shield/or focus for retreat/survival until your combo cool down is back on again. you dont always rely on Save yourself for super spike because tethering a target gives resolution as well. The best thing is F1 refreshes when you kill a target, making you almost ready for the next kill. It's a sniper build that focus ALOT on positioning through super swiftness, and setting up your kill. Use Advance smartly to spike damage or to retreat (super swiftness helps alot with survival, repositioning, or chasing) . It's satisfying when someone near full health suddenly dropped death from a super True shot. No trap required. It doesn't always work out perfectly, but what does anyways? The build has some flaws for sure, but if you can work around it, it's satisfying.
  17. I do find it quite amusing that, in this trailer, they showed other specializations but not really showing the "willbender" in this trailer, or catalysts. I can't think of any reason why willbender would be a any sort of presentation liability 😒. It's a good trailer overall.
  18. I thought I would find it hard to believe they did make Beta-2 without redesigning WB's healing skill and its infamous bug, along with all the useless utility skills too.... Anything is possible yo, especially the impossible stuff. Bottomline is ... yeh, there probably will be balancing stuff, but don't expect too much.
  19. I assume you mean trapper, not scrapper runes. I'm not aware of any build with scrapper runes for DH specifically. Trapper rune is quite annoying tbh. The steath is hard to deal with. But in exchange you dont get any power/precision from runes. The build lack swiftness, and relying on super speed to move around map isnt wise. The DH would also be quite flimpsy due to lack of vita. I wouldn't say it's OP due to that trade off. Usually people who aint accustomed to dealing with traps would complain about it. Traps are useless if opposing teams have pets/minions and the ring can be dodged out. I do without trapper runes, using speed rune instead. Quite good when you stack modifiers (tether mod, cripple mod, distance mod, aegis mod (virtue line), resolution mod for crit).
  20. I hope for the content i paid for to be exciting and successful, as always. But for this EoD, given the specialization's way-off-the-mark designs, I feel like this is gona be a flop, unfortunately. Saw some super hyped folks on youtube doe, .... very interesting folks. I think another reason for the overall lukewarm reception is how communication is made to the base. And given how they treated Jormag and Primodus in the story (they practically flushed two elder dragons down the toilet in a 20 min worth of actions) I have absolutely no faith on the future writing. There is no guarantee they just killing off things for convenience purposes and expect us to take the lore seriously.
  21. For me, EoD is underwhelming because of the lackluster specializations. elem, guard for example are the biggest victims of bad idea/design on this regard. HoT was so much more exciting when released. Now this EoD.... i don't know. It's just.... not a good feeling so far.
  22. These look actually extremely bad for me. Those huge red orbs ruin the balance in both colors and shape. If anything is at least mediocre, it's the dagger. The tiger is meh. Well each to his own. Glad these things got them gems.
  23. The flames act like symbols in form of lines, except much worse. They do negligible damage, has zero effect unless you traits it certain ways (aka the effects aint free or innate, you gotta sacrifice a trait to get something). They are lines, so therefore anything that can move will easily move out of the way. The activation for all 3 are super clunky, easy to miss. F2's flame isn't gona hit anyone because it occurs BEHIND you. It is just a very underwhelming profession mechanic with no purposes, identity or practicality. Yeh, you will do some damage to prop bosses, but it makes you wonder if they realize we actually play the games for other modes than just running world prop bosses. My expectation for the class is below rock bottom. tbh. And the elite skill... oh god, the elite skill. See the thread specific for that elite skill.
  24. I don't care how strong he/she is, but I wouldn't go party with the "Commander" if he/she were to be a real person in the real world. Over-the-top do-gooder. Just look at how they wrote the stories up to now: He's such perfect human being, a relationship counselor, a child-care specialist, a teenager psychiatrist, a well-spoken well manner and corp manager, you name it. His dialog reminds me of my HS librarian. There's nothing else that could make a character any more boring than that. His character-arc is just a vertical line. But then again, I forgive it. It's just not the game for story-telling. If you look for good story-telling, better luck in things like elder scroll, diablo etc...
