  1. This "restructuring" has to end, and never to be brought up again. I got stuck with a dead town. No matter what time i got in, barely anyone up doing anything. Please stop.
  2. I get this feeling that they test and balance skills on stationary training golems only. That's why they don't see any problem with it. If this thing isn't fixed along with the entire utility line, we are stuck with meditation for condi cleanse again. DH forever!.
  3. Feel my wrath and Renewed Focus give so so much more values for the elite slot than this junk. This thing won't hit any player with half a brain in pvp. 1 1/4 second is more than enough to move out of the way or counter-cc. If they give other players so much of a window time for easy counterplay, what is the point of this elite. It basically screaming "i'm up here in the air for more than a whole second, kill me". With the WB being so squishy absolutely devoid of meaningful sustain , the elite slot most likely will be Renewed focus even if they fix this skill (which they probably won't given that they left it alone after beta 1).
  4. This has been said many times and in many ways since launch. Ranger's pew pew pew don't root . Neither should this sword3 thing. I don't understand what kind of game breaking consequences that Anet is afraid of. It's single target and it misses half the time, even a dolyak can doge it.
  5. Guardians are given low health pool and relatively more modest offensive power (in comparison to Rev or War for example) because Anet took into account guardian's team buff and passive regens. Now willbenders throw away team support, and passive aegis/regen but are not given back the appropriate compensation ( for example, higher health pool etc...). If they really believe in the trade-off theme, the WB should have at least +300 vital by default in the adept minor trait. WB's utility skills are quite frankly garbage. It does not address the dire sustenance need aggressively, but rather give more mediocre damage options. These utility skills should have things like protection, condi removal, and resolution. The heal skill is dead on arrival, and currently bugged. I'm surprised it wasn't addressed on the second round of beta even thoug the issue was brought up early. Or rather, I'm not surprised. Shelter forever. As it is, I'd say WB is dead on arrival when EoD hits, I just can't see the point of it as compared to core/DH/FB. If you want the playstyle of extreme mobility and busting down foes, I would say warriors, rev, and even rangers are so much better at this. A few months left, all we can do is hope.
  6. Absolutely agree. Same here. Can't even pvp right now.
  7. Update: when you restart client, the lags will be gone ..... until it randomly occurs again.
  8. same. On fios and never had issue before. And lags occured just the past few weeks and more and more frequently , especially in WvW even with only a few players around.
  9. It tries to be a thief, but does not have the slipperiness and stealth when things start going south. It also tries to be warriors but the physical skills lacks the perma stunt and power. It tries to be a shiro rev, but the off-hand swords are cheap imitation and the heals and boons are just not in comparison. WB is all about mobility, chasing down opponents and burst them down - something a meditation power guard does just fine, and speaking of busting down foes, a DH traps - GS 2/symbol does better. In the end, it tries to be so many things at once and failed at everything. This new revamp of WB still fails partly because they fail to address the sustain need, and not really address the utility physical skills that simply cannot compete for slots vs. core skills. The class simply lack practicality and an identity. Hope they really revamp everything before release. Otherwise, DH is still the new specialization for guardian for EoD.
  10. Healing skill remain underwhelming. The heal on block is mediocre at best, while forcing the WB to not doing any action during the 1 second wait. I still don't see why I should replace Shelter over this one. While shelter heals for less than the max heals of 2 charges combined, it blocks tons of attack during the blocking duration, thus having more values. Glint heal of Rev can easily top off the HP , as another comparison, while allowing freedom of actions. BTW healing skill is still bugged. it randomly does not trigger bonus heal on melee block. These physical utility skills, flashy as it might be, imo see severe competition for slots placement due to WB's need for sustain (condi removal, stability, protection) which will all come from core skills. I honestly would probly stick with meditation again. Elite skill , unless they slap on one stack of stability, is a suicide button in serious pvp. GL getting it connecting. No reliable way to remove condis despite being being frontliner specialist, unless you slap on meditation or traiting F2 virtue. Banking on resolution only extends your life abit. Offhand sword 4 still feel clunky. In fact, I feel like sword 4 should 5 instead. maybe just me. I test core guard, DH and WB against fire/earth djinns in crystal deserts. WB still trail behind abit and perform worse the longer the fight drags on (due to bad heal skill partly), especially against multiple mobs at same time. WB's weakness is it cannot handle multiple mobs as well as core /DH/FB could have. All the zig and zag movments feel fun for awhile, in the end you gotta kill something.... I can't speak for the rest of players, but imo I still feel WB less reliable than DH or core in most game modes. I havent tried WvW, but good lord, I will see how many arrow sticking on my back when i do. If this is the final version, I would say i still be sticking with DH for EoD. Overall, the class needs ALOT of help. no salt here.
  11. I don't see why I should use WB's healing skill over Shelter.
  12. They tried to shoehorn in the "monk" theme in to the blender that already has ninja/thief/swordmaster in it. What a *cough* ...willbender... (sorry I always have problem saying these names Anet comes up with) needs as a daredevil-like fighting style is reliable sustenance. Current healing skill is just stupid, can't justify over Shelter. None of WB utility provide any good level condi removal, because you know...who would have thought physical fronliers would get bombed with cesspools of condis. We are forced to use some core skills to make up for it, than thus removing slots for these physical skills. They are way over their head in design theme rather than considering the practicality in real play. Utilities i want to see should have some condi removal build-in, even if it's conditional. Maybe dodge-frame in that fancy spinning kick thing, that also remove cripples/immo/ at least.
  13. I can't speak for the rest of the base, but nowadays i log in just to do one or two pvp matches. Then when i go to meta maps (aka Wait Wars)... then i go "can't do this anymore.... " then I log off. Some day i last abit longer. And btw, I get sick to the stomach everytime I heard "It's bad" , "This is actually working?". Asked a friend to play w me in the summer, he dropped after 2 months in. The recent beta are super underwhelming for me. But i saw some hype on gw2 youtubers doe.
  14. Well every class is powerful in the hand of skilled players. But necro is a little different. Reaper in PvE is quite the easy mode. In most modes, they got a little edge over everyone else. In pvp, in particular. Their area control is top notch with low CD at that. Sustained condis so making your condi remove seems trivial. With double health bars, it is a little hard to take them down. Just when you think you are about to down them, nopeeee, shroud mode. When you down them, that's when the nightmare comes. Necro is deadly when they are down, they don't have to use bandage, they simply need to attack you to rally, and with a long duration fear. It is no doubt one of Anet's most favored classes. It is a beginer-friendly class because they can do many things at the same time with decent efficacy. Good at pve, very good in wvw and extra deadly in pvp. I shelves my necro for a while now since I kinda get bored for ease it offers. It is a recommended class for casual players for sure.
  15. Mr. robot frequent missing in action, or running off somewhere, or busy fighting a mob half a screen away. I was excited from teaser, now it's ... meh. This thing might be decent against a single target, but it's very awkward in large fight. I had to trait it to be range attacker specialist, so basically it's a mobile turret. Damage isn't that bad, but the game play gets old quick.
  16. Because the world is revolved around hiting training golems. What's with the toxic salt? bad day at work?
  17. just be happy at least Vindicator is rather solid among the pack. I wish Willbender has the luxury to complain about animations. Willbender's new skills are practically suicide buttons.
  18. Lets face it, the willbender flame is just a different version of symbols, aka a fixed area on the ground that ticks damage and maybe some sort of effects. Yes, they literally gave us 3 new symbols and short active effects in exchange for the passive effect. the so-called tradeoff. All of us who play guardians over the years know how hard it is to keep enemy in the symbol for full effect. And even if you cc or root to keep things in it, the next question what rewards do we get out? Symbol can be powerful if we trait for it, and the inate boons are nice. The rewards seem reasonable. However, the willbender flame is a much more lack luster version of symbols. And lets forget about the clunky clumpsy animation for now. For the most part, they are lines. yes, lines. One step aside and enemy gets out of it. F2 is the worst in this regard. Unless you hit a prop boss, good luck reaping the full effect. The damage ticks are completely trivial even if traited. You might get some hit in conquest pvp fighting on capture points but otherwise completely useless. Pretty much you have to bank on the active effects.
  19. Anet needs to ask themselves that what is it that the Willbender can do that the core/DH guardians could not. If it is pursuing and bursting enemy in a bruiser style, DH does it just fine and much more efficient. DH can do range, can do some support, can pursue, can pull and can melee bust you to hell. Willbender does none of those things well aside from extra dashes and aoe that aint hitting anything that moves. Playing willbender is like playing core guardian in hard mode.
  20. I'm not fond of "X is OP" threads to be honest. Way too sensational and exaggerated most of the time. But I do see some merits in the concern in spamability of shocking and magnetic auras in pvp, especially in aura sharing trait. But hasnt tempest already been doing it quite decently. We'll see.
  21. The normal bust needs to be reinstated in addition to dragon slash. Dragon slash is alot harder to pull. The flow gains seems to be a tad bit slow and TOO quick when it starts to drop. I built up the flow from one group of mobs, and as like 5 sec later it went down before I even get to the nearby mob.
  22. My favorite of the three. Combat flow is nice, 100% better than that wreckage of a "willbender". Dodge takes abit to get used to, but don't forget their dodge frame is much longer than a regular one. It takes abit to land, but I appreciate that i could use that time to access the battle and reposition the landing. Healing skill is decent, for a 10 second cool down . I found utility skills abit annoying due to it constantly swap for Victor, but i think this is a LoP issue. The spear throwing could be abit faster and more impressive animation for the projectile, but overall I'm ok with it. Some fine tuning? yes. But it is one of the most decent of the 6 so far.
  23. The name "Aurene" .... Lol. It's like they got this name from thebump.com on the top 100 popular girl's name. Just a few season back, she was still chirping . Now she talks like your mom looking your report card. She's whatever. I don't mind her. It's hard not to notice that she's something endearing among Anet lore writers. They try really hard to shove on us the message "she's our baby". So much so that her character arc is very one-dimensional. But I would say that this narrative strategy might backfire because the audience might grow sick of it. Off topic for abit, I noted that there is this.... underlying passive feminist aggressiveness in gw2 story telling. If you haven't noticed: The girls' casts are prominent: Aurene - the Jesus elder dragon. Taimi - girl, super genius just shy of being Scarlet. And speaking of Scarlet - even a female villian is a Mary sue. Caithe - your cool lone wolf heroine. Kas/jory - the female adults in the room. Jennah - your majesty the queen with surprising super power, who led her boy by the nose. That's just to name a few. And super on-the-nose multiple lesbian relationships. The boys: braham - he's a guy, so he's gotta be childish, hothead and annoying. Rytlock, he's a guy, but he's a cat, so we'll give him break but he shouldn't get much major screentime. Logan - your mother-approved boy: willing to abandon his guild and endanger the entire world so he could answer to his girl. The rest of the boys: they are all annoying asuras. Very empowering, Anet Regardless, i typically tried my best to not get these kind of storytelling with agenda gets to me, I just focus getting past the stories asap so I can resume my daily grind routines and pvp. If I could be honest, Anet story telling is very one-dimensional for the most part. Plotwists typically just make you go "oh?" at best. You don't get the kind of Imperial vs. the stormcloaks arguments, for example. I'm sure there are people being perfectly fine with things, well I won't try to convince them the otherwise.
  24. Seeing Engi 's kits never get variety of skin change in the past 9 years, I double down on my words.
  25. Gunsaber is like a melee bruiser version of engi flamethrower kit . I doubt you can do anything with it, skin-wise. Would I like to get different skin? yes, a variety would be appreciated, but realistically I don't see they will do that, ever.
