  1. But here's where the trap inherently lays with Commanders disliking Ranger in a zerg. Your not accepted into a zerg. So you don't get the buffs you would get from say being part of the squad. Because you don't get those uptime boons from the other players in your squad, your less likely to survive in a head on engagement with enemy forces. When the smoke clears, the commander looks around, sees the dead Ranger and goes, "Oh, I see the Ranger's sucked again and can't survive...." Are we not surviving because we WERE not part of the squad, and would have received some sort of healing/BOONS, which we didn't. Or did we not survive because we didn't have the "Right Build". Either way, the commander goes, "This is the reason why I don't like Ranger's. They can't survive. They don't give anything to the group....their useless." AGAIN...I blame Anet. I haven't seen A THING from ONE OF YOU in nearly the last three years that came close to committing to creating a Ranger Build that stands head and shoulders ABOVE the rest of the classes, for a complete and total acceptance of a Ranger into a zerg. I have yet to see a Commander go, "DAMN, we need more Rangers in our group if we're going to win this...." NO, have you seen that? Has Arenanet DEVS seen that? No, they have not. I have not. You have not. So whose to blame? The Ranger. Or the people that made all the mechanics for Ranger. Whose the more foolish. The fool that plays the class, or the eggheads that created the class.
  2. Actually there's been quite a few times where I've downed an enemy AFTER I've been downed. I don't see how it can possibly hurt.
  3. None it all. In fact it looks like Windows just provided an update for NVIDIA, and there was also a Graphics download at the same time. Their Tuesday patch may have been slightly compromised.
  4. Institute Boon Sickness. Stripping don't cut it, if they hit a single skill, or strike a single target, and they got every boon back on themselves again. Or worse yet, their in a zerg, and split into 5 man squads within the zerg, and a single player in that squad hits a skill and everybody in the party has instant boons, and then the next guy in squad hits a skill and extends the boons time....seriously boon up time should never be 100% for any reason.
  5. Basically in todays wvw, Ranger's don't get invited to zergs, we have to get WxP any which way we can to rank up.
  6. Played for 1-1/2 years from beta, reached rank 333. But that was because I was a tower or keep scout. I stayed in position, defended, and watched my location that I was assigned to. Lot of the scouts had very very low rank during the early years. Due to one event, won't get into, went into Edge of the Mist, and nearly quadrupled my rank in same amount of time. When went back into EB and the Borderlands after the Legendary backpiece arrived. Did a little scouting, and was given "Participation" because it was the thing. However, commanders no longer give participation because they want full combat zerg, so ….no scouts, defenders, or people keeping an eye out on the enemy. So scouts really can't rank up without participation. Probably why you don't have as many eyes as you used to. No rewards for just sitting around watching stuff. No loot. No participation....no rank increase. So...no Legendary Backpiece or Legendary armor for some, and you only get that with combat. Or with participation which is no longer a thing. So ….combat = rewards+rank. No combat, no participation, no rewards - no rank.
  7. To be honest, talking to commanders from links and my own server for the past three years....they are either hateful towards rangers, spiteful towards rangers, or ambivalent towards rangers. Personally I blame Anet. Still seeing those Scourge/Firebrand teams interspersed with Mesmer and ele's. Maybe a few Scrappers thrown in for good measure. Lots of heavies. But nah, I don't expect anything to change with any of these commanders after listening to their "ranger suck" speaches for the past three years. I don't even bother trying to join a zerg even if it has room. If the commander, or the lieutenant in the zerg wants to grab me, great. If they dont' want me, then they won't even attempt to grab me, mostly because "Ohhh he's a ranger....." <---- Sadly, most of the commanders that USED to be on Jade Quarry went to different servers, and took that attitude with them. However, we still got a few with the same mentality of "Ranger's suck". Still.... I do blame Anet. Anet refused to talk to the community, and I still have seen absolute no discussion from Anet WITH the community on how to fix that. They don't want to talk about it, screw it. I'll do my own thing. I'll defend what I want to defend, i'll scout what I want to scout, and i'll fight what I choose to fight. Anet boxed me into a wall, not much other choice for ranger. All the rest of you say "reroll and play a different class that a commander needs...."....well that just means certain classes are unwelcome, unwanted, or not needed. Sorry to say, but that's just a very poor excuse from some of you that treat ranger's like garbage.
  8. Was doing PvP this evening, when Colosseum was chosen. As soon as I entered, my Windows kept popping up an error message on the side of the screen until my game locked up. Application has been Blocked from accessing Graphics Hardware: Application Gw2-64.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics Hardware. Now this message didn't just pop once. Every time I closed it, it popped up again, and did so six times before it locked up my system, kicked me out of the game and gave me a black screen. Had to reboot. Was doing fine in every other arena, until this one, then everything went wacko.
  9. Nobody uses the sword/dagger combo because only a very few Ranger's were able to utilize and understand it's Movement structure. I used to train Ranger's in Sword/Dagger, and sadly it never had any real power or use to it. Lots of evades. I mean lots. You went Sword/Dagger with Shortbow., and you wre hopping all over the place. I'm sure with the current Permaboon garbage it would be like fighting a staff thief. Hard to pin down and keep down. But...people didn't want to jump up all over the place...they didn't understand that when you charge to the enemy that you had to charge to the enemy's RIGHT side before you activated a skill that made your character spin COUNTER CLOCKWISE....<----This is what confused many Ranger players. They were trying to spin to the rear of the enemy but they couldn't figure out why they were instead spinning away from the enemy, instead of getting behind the enemy. You had to be on the enemy right side....which means when you were charging towards the enemy, you were maneuvering slightly to the left. So when you hit the Sword/Dagger spin attacks, you could spin all the way to the rear of the enemy, then jump away as the enemy AoE'd. Then you jumped right back into them after they unloaded the AoE. Seriously though, most of the time Sword/Dagger ranger's werent' able to do any sizeable damage to the enemy, and the enemy couldn't do any real HITS on something they couldn't even hit. Four out of five battles were usually stalemates.
  10. Sometimes I think anet gets all their Nerf and Power creep ideas from certain Guilds. Who it appear to utilize certain professions exclusively in PvP and WvW….which hasn't really helped ranger's one bit.
  11. I just watched a video with a Firebrand that was downing 5 players at a time with a single condi shot. And he was using books so....and he was surviving retaliatory strikes from up to 10 players.....The current meta is permaboon, Tank/Condi. Their tanked to the guilds, and all their damage is full on condi. Add the Permaboons in, it's like trying to put out the Towering Inferno with a water pistol. It's useless.

I would name three old JQ commanders right off the bat that said they'd rather tank than fight BG, because ...and I really didn't understand it, because I thought it was them just being stupid, "They were bored of fighting BG." They got tired of having their butts thrown to the ground and stomped on repeatedly is all. They just wouldn't admit it. Too proud to admit that they chose the wrong place to fight. And worse yet they just kept smashing their head against a brick wall, thinking that the 5th or 6th time fighting the same team that kept wiping them, would some how magically turn into a victory on the 7th try?
  13. Like I said, they are not FIGHT SERVERS. They are FIGHT GUILDS. Give them their god damned GvG, so we can get back to WvW.
  14. You were hit by a full blown glass cannon condi ranger. Congrats. I recently died to a Double-Tap rifle Deadeye in less than .5 seconds. Was unable to activate any defensive or offensive skill. First hit your downed, second hit your dead. Roughly between 25k-26k dmg in under 1 second. I kinda hate Anet right now. Because they took away the thieves ability to do that with dagger/dagger quite a while back. And all the sudden now it's back. If I didn't know any better i'd say Anet plays more Fortnite and Overwatch than actually playing any Guildwars 2 what so ever. Because I think that's where they get MOST of their ideas from.

  16. OH COME ON, fight Guilds, this is exactly what you wanted! You wanted to show who the best Guild was at FIGHTING, why aren't you clamoring away for a GvG format? I'd almost think you wanted that format! You said you wanted to have FUN and have FIGHTS....what possible more fun could you get out of WvW, that you couldn't get in a GvG format, specifically tailored to your taste of combat?
  17. When there are no longer any worlds to conquer. When there is NOTHING left to fight, you will not see any fights. If these individual guilds wish to have nothing but fights, I think they'll be able to find it in a GvG format, if anet were to implimetn such a format. Those guilds that dont' want to wvw, that are mostly PvE, i'm more than sure they will sign on to such a format just to test themselves. And those guilds in WvW have ALL the fights they'd want. Because they would no longer be ALLIED to other large Guilds on the same server. They'd be forced to fight each other. So they'd all get what they wanted. Fights and Bags. They'd get what they want. And those left behind in WvW would get what they want. Players more interested in winning. So everyone would be HAPPY.
  18. I think you may have been confused. Ranger's use to be able to Trait up to allow Spirit's that you summon, to follow you around the field of battle. I had thought that Anet nerfed that, because there isn't a single Spirit Ranger that I have seen in either PvE or WvW since anet nerfed that trait. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Avatar_of_Melandru Avatar of Melandru however is not a Spirit, but a Human based elite skill. Turns you into a Druid Spirit....and this may have been what you saw.
  19. Because ranger's have real muscles, and those that use rifles are just weak beach kids that prefer making sand castles.
  20. The AoE we have is relegated to hamstringing the enemy. You put a Superior Sigil of Fire on that AoE longbow #5...it actually triggers a nova blast on an enemy that is stealth or veiled on a critical. Other than that our one AoE is fricken useless without +2 extra Rangers. You get 3-5 Rangers with AoE #5 longbow...yah it can do some damage and melt NPC's in seconds. Against permaboon players, it's standing under a nice cool clean clear waterfall. It just flows right off them and does little to no damage. If ranger isn't viable for an allied zerg it's because Anet gave too much damage to what is called the "Meta Classes", and that's THEIR fault, and NO real fault of the player that decides they want to play ranger.
  21. Hmmm surprise surprise thats where you will get fights , no such thing as "fight " guilds they are a figment of peoples imaginations. And the first 2 years, you were all complaining about going up in tier to fight Jade Quarry. There will be rise and falls of servers. Every empire ever known has never lasted forever. You'll grow, you'll expand. Then overconfidence creeps in, then laziness and boredom, or perhaps what drove you to get to the top will no longer matter. And then your empire slowly starts to recede or succumb in time to internal or external pressures. Every dog has its day. Yeah sure, go T1 and burn yourself out trying to beat BG for...reasons? All that's going to do is burn people out like what happens every time someone tries it. Maybe you win a week or two, maybe BG even goes T2 for a week. Then everyone gets tired and the status quo returns. I'm not sure what you really want if you want all the fight guilds to leave the game mode. It's already happening without your suggestion. "Lets just stay in the low tier, where we will never become challenged, grow ever bored even more, and just lament that there are no more worlds to conquer" <--- I'm sorry, but this is what my translation read you as saying.
  22. And what the hell will BG fight then? The Skritt on the upper northwest of the Alpine map, or maybe the Centaur up in the Northeast quadrant. Because that's all that's left to fight once you take an entire map with no enemy players to show up.
  23. No. 3 is no longer a problem, due to the loss of the player base in the last six months. I don't think we have to worry about that any longer.
  24. No he's right. I was at Speldan and unloaded with Rapidfire….and the screen lit up as Target Blocked. There were no objects, and i'm standing on the NPC's foot...and then switched Axe/Axe...again....Target Blocked.....and I had incoming enemy players....and there was an invisible piece of map that was blocking my shots. Now there has been quite a few times like that inside Moles except i'd be fighting other players...and it would be Target Blocked....and there's absolutely NOTHING between me and the target. It's like there were objects, but only their visual pixels were taken out, but the physical pixels were LEFT IN...
