  1. The idea of WvW is team play, and your team is supposed to work to win. It's competitive playstyle. You use any mechanic, build, or device on your character to make that happen. And i'm sorry to say....reworking skills to BUFF those skills that players refuse to use, does not help. If a skill isn't being used, it's not about BUFFING that skill...It's about NERFING the skills that are considered OVER POWERED. I look at the reworks of skills when patch days come, and it's no longer about nerfing, it's about buffing skills that nobody uses because they don't pump out either enough DPS, Condi, or give enough BUFFS. But hell, if your build makes you overpowered, and lets you down an enemy in two seconds with three rapids shots, Go For It! If a scourge can pump out more damage than you can possibly take, whose fault is that? Anet's? The player that created a combo that anet didn't even think of that all the sudden made the profession so overpowered it's not laughable to even think of fighting against that profession in meaningful WvW. For the last 7 months is, "I want firebrands, I want scourges...I want firebrands, I want scourges", Day in, Day out, hour after hour after hour. If an anet employee went into the Discord of a Guild, and you ask, "What do you need..." and the commanders only response is "Firebrand, scourge"....for seven damn months.....you THINK you'd figure out....there is a problem with all the rest of professions which are neither solicited to join the squad, or not wanted. Still. In guildwars 1, you had what? Thousand skill combinations? And some of those combo's made you so overpowered you might as well be god. The same thing occurs in Guildwars 2....Except the combination is still in the thousands, but it takes into account runes, stats, sigils, Buffs, AND skills. Which can create a Godmode product because there's no real way to test out every single combination to make sure that a Godmode product isn't created. So to the scourges...that I die a lot to by the way....keep killing me. It's not your fault that your either so good, or your combination of Skills, weapons, sigil, and runes made you Godmode. That's anet's fault.
  2. If the Tagless squad is only on the map to do their own thing, they're not going to respond to call outs. Leaving 20-30 leaderless people....lets be honest, take a look at reset night vs. the rest of the week. Do you even think you can get 50+ on any server on a map anymore? I'm going to say, no. If you have a squad of 20 on the map tagless, then everyone else has pretty much already gone to bed, because they see nothing to RALLY around. If they have nobody to rally around, then their not even gonna bother playing. They'll hit sentries, they'll hit camps, you might have 2 defend a tower against 15 enemy. But since they don't see a tag, and their buddies say there's no tags on any other map, why even do a call out. On the slim chance that, somebody, anybody might show up to help defend...or better yet, go on the offensive. It's hard not to be pessimistic, but I've already talked to 22 separate commanders on multiple servers....they wanted Tagless, so as not to be bothered by PUGS, and to do a Guild Mission in WvW, or just GvG. Come on. Be honest with yourself. Beyond the reasons of, "don't want spies seeing where we are" vs....GUILD only crap....what other excuse do you have for going tagless? None. There are no other excuses beyond those two.
  3. Be aware "Commanders" and "Guild Leaders", "Guild Officers". When you go tagless, do not expect call outs of scouts. Do not question why someone who is not part of your guild decides to run beside you into battle, and don't question when you ask for people to join that nobody wants to. Your tagless option has it's pros and cons, and the biggest con to most of the pugs is, you don't want or need them in any fashion. Granted the one pro I see is you don't have to worry to much about "spies" calling out your location to the enemy. Unless they saw you running towards a location or objective, then their just gonna hook up by running beside your group. Still. I see the tagless option as a bonus to your guild, but a detriment to overall "Team Play". If your team can't easily locate the squad to help you with additional skills, force of arms, and all the rest of the brouhaha, then for future reference, you have no call to complain. After all, you wanted to play, but did not want to be seen. But I suspect this Tagless option had nothing to do with Team Play, and it didn't have anything to do with pugs. And it sure as hell didn't have anything to do with expanding the idea of being hidden from spies. This tagless option was specifically created for Guild Vs. Guild. You wanted to go to some corner of the map, didn't want pugs showing up to ruin your little guild thing. You did have the Arena inside Obsidian Sanctum. Otherwise, the only true BONUS to this tagless, is PvE. You wanted to go do your own guild or group thing. That I can understand. Tagless in WvW….no, I don't see very many pros, and quite a few cons. But hey. If you don't want pugs in your squad....you don't have invite them. That has always been an option of the commander and his/her lieutenants. Good luck.
  4. Yah, but when someone pops into the map and can't see a tag...they won't know if your actually attacking an area, defending a spot, or your doing your own GvG thing...actually it literally kicks EVERYONE to the curb and says, "Hell no we don't want you." I'm sorry. I see it good for two things. GvG and doing your private guild stuff, and keeping yourself from the prying eyes of an enemy spy that's probably not even hooked with the group. For everyone else...lets say you got 20 in your group, your gonna have 30 roamers with their heads cut off, unless there's a second tag on the map. Have you ever weighted the Pro's and Con's before this implementation was supposed to go into effect. The Commanders are crying about it literally because they do not want "Pugs". <---that was their only excuse. They had no other reason beyond that.
  5. Ohhhh and since the Guilds are all running closed squads now, and don't want anyone inside their squads during battle....scouts can no longer get any boons from being tagged as a scout by the Commander any more. :) So, scouting for closed invisible groups is no longer an option. There's nothing in it for the scout. Then again, most scouts used up the majority of their time to sit in one spot with no replacement, using their own resources to build defense with the very real possibility that when the location comes under attack...we have no backup. :( This post makes me sad.
  6. 2...can't really argue. The current metabuild is just permaboon. Permaboon! Permaboon! Permaboon. Just keep your boons up, and you can go glass cannon and ...never really DIE...your shielded, you reflect, you have soooo many buffs that nothing can really hurt you, even against 4...5....6 enemy hitting you all at the same time..... 4 Used to have scouts, until some very messy events occurred. The watchtowers actually helped, when the servers started losing their scouts one by one. :) ALTHOUGH, I did love No White Swords Wintersday THAT WAS AWESOME! You all not being able to see...anything, unless you had a scout there. That was epic. I laughed my head off, especially after JQ lost 23 scouts near end of year 2 beginning of year 3. The guilds were forced to place their own guildmates as scouts in towers, keeps, and garrisons. I really do believe that the event was a definite...bonus to tell the truth. It forced the community to actually use live scouts to watch out for enemy forces, and respond. #4 doesn't work, if your server doesn't have a single player that wants to watch a single location. Ever.
  7. Deadeyes still doing pretty good in kicking my butt with only two shots. If that doesn't tell you that going glass cannon doesn't help, I don't know what does.
  8. I heard it was a node down in Texas that said it wasn't getting enough money from all the MMORPG games. (throttle throttle throttle) yep, them nodes I telling yah.
  9. Before my new computer and internet setup, I Ran an i5 with 20Mb ISP. ANd it had horrendous lag in EB in the big fights. I run an i7 now with a better Nvidia card, + 60Mb ISP....except for a few cases, the lag is gone, or just a small amount now. Although it does seem like the lag for firing off skills has come back around to haunt me all over again.
  10. Just make a Half Dozen more maps, and then randomize them week from week. Variety is the spice of life.
  11. Bring me No White Swords wintersday back. You all need to keep scouts in towers and locations :p.
  12. Rock. Paper. Scissors. One build will destroy another...but this other build will destroy you...but that one guy you destroyed could easily destroy the one guy that destroyed you. Rock. Paper. Scissors.
  13. You can literally keep up with a mounted enemy, but you still need to do enough dmg to the mount to get them off it. And even then, the enemy player uses escape skills to further the distance between you and him....and then they remount, and the chase starts all over again. It goes both ways.
  14. You can run Duo pet. Balthazar elite skill, I don't know if they still have bird for Rune of the Pirate. And run Hyena. Believe me...you can run multiple "pets". As a ranger. Depending on what Rune s you have and any special Elite skills that you may have. You can be just like a Necro, and be an army of one. Bunch of animals. Some of the runes allow a "Summon" animal or Elemental type.
  15. You want to heal, you Go druid, with swap healing sigils on weapons, while running Monk Runes. And use Staff. Then again...most commanders would probably laugh at this ...because you'll survive all get out. Your team in todays current meta will die horribly, unless they were running permaboons, and the enemy wasn't running a single boon strip team what so ever.
  16. I'm a bit confused on this post. The one soulbeast merge ability to smash the ground...it's damage is 1/5th now. Where before it was 1/3. We took a big hit to dmg. So i'm a bit confused why this post is stating that we're overpowered when we took a big nerf to the DPS....
  17. I hope not. Mostly because I believe the power creep has gone a little to far.
  18. I hope not. Mostly because I believe the power creep has gone a little to far.
  19. Your condi builds are built into your traps. Spike, fire so on and so forth.
  20. If you got Sword/Dagger you have a lot more ability to dance around the enemy. Shortbow isn't to bad. Unfortunately it's old gatling gun style of play I truelly miss.
  21. Runaway is not an option. All the conditions cause you to kill yourself. If you move torment kills you. If you stay in place the clone bombs kill you. If you use your skills....you still kill yourself. Your basically punished for fighting mesmers as a Ranger. The few times where I've been able to kill one is standing still and attempting to clear conditions as they come...which is not easy.
  22. Although to tell the truth, I do believe that Blackgate should be designated as a European Server considering the MASS amount of non-North American players on that server now.
  23. I've chased players on mounts all the way from north camp, all the way back to their spawn with mounts. I can't say I like it, but it has it's uses. Easily killing a downed player before they can get back up again is a firm plus in my book.
  24. Actually based on Active WvW player base. Jade Quarry has a FULL server of players, majority PvE. We've lost 3 major WvW guilds recently that took out a whole swath of our player base support. We are now a link server, not because Jade Quarry is small. It's not about server size. It's about WvW population size. Reason why we're a link, and not a host.
  25. Your commanders didn't quit. They went silent running for their GvG operations in open field. I been watching it for the past three weeks. They broke off from main WvW team play to do GvG guild related activities. Seriously if you wanted to GvG, there's a big old arena in Obsidian Sanctum. Anyone that tries to interrupt in that is going to get ran over and you know it.
