  1. Hmmm Pacific Northwest. Make sure there's lots of bluebells. Got bluebells all over the Cascades. And lots of fish. Chowdah. We need chowdah! Clam chowder, the nice thick kind. And plenty of jack-a-lopes. Elusive but they EXIST! We find bunny tracks and antlers all over the place. Don't forget Big Foot!
  2. Need more maps, and those maps need to be randomized weekly. Variety is the spice of life. As for players old and new....a better attitude from the base WvW player and the commanders. :) Wasn't too thrilled with being told, "pugs are the worst thing to happen to wvw", or "our scouts suck", or "this class stinks and i'm never going to allow them into my group...." dang...I don't know....poor community attitude towards players that aren't in a major WvW guild, doesn't help. Attacking people that weren't properly trained on how to give out Location of enemy forces and their numbers, and additional on the field information....doesn't help. Gee wiz, I run a class that was spat on for nearly 4 years running, in WvW….by a group of players and commanders that pretty much said that the class brings nothing to group play. Yah, that didn't help. Now trying to be a "Pug scout Ranger" that had to listen to it for wayyyyyy to many years. No, that did not help. You want new players. You want old players. Better attitude. We been slicing and dicing on the same maps. It's like eating the same meatloaf day after day for seven years straight....I don't mind meatloaf. Throw some chicken in there. Some pork. Come on, some meat and potatoes into this kitchen we call WvW. Hell, make a completely empty map, where we have to build our own walls and create our own towers, and keeps. Building gates at chokepoints. Crazy idea, eh?
  3. I'm having a load of fun, laughing my butt off against those players that used to stomp me into the ground. Now that their searching for a new "meta-build" i'm having a blast turning the tables on them. I'm lasting a lot longer, or even winning in a lot of one on one. I am more able to survive in head to head zerg battles. Every once in a while you can hear my hysterical laughter in discord when i'm destroying a class or build that used to dominate.
  4. I have a full set of Legendary armor with Legendary runes on my armor now. With the few additions of legendary trinkets, backpieces, and ascended rings and what not...I can almost pretty much run anything I want. The player that has the ability to change their build without having to swap out armor and weapons sets all the time, is the player that has the best opportunity to swap on the fly by the click of a button.
  5. Looks like they put out a patch yesterday to fix the pet stow when dismounting.
  6. I dunno, i'm having quite a bit of fun. Most of the ranger skills and metabuild nerfs didn't really effect me to badly. In fact, i'm lasting a lot longer against some classes that usually spin circles around me. I'M HAVING A BLAST, knocking those old metabuild players all over the place. Seems their permaboon builds got shoved out the window, which i'm quite happy with. I'm little bit angsty on the pet swap, because we did have some boons for pet swap, and now that's complete trash and gone with, since we can no longer swap pets while in combat. Overall, i'm enjoying the nerfs. I never seen so many people cry to such a degree as this. My experience has been mostly POSITIVE. Mostly because i'm ranger, i'm used to any and all nerfs to my class, and...the nerfs didn't really effect me that badly because I never ran a Ranger meta-build. :p
  7. Our damage runs over per arrow hit, and sloooooowlllly adds up within a few seconds. Unlike some other professions where it's one...two...your dead. I can see where Daddicus is coming from. Our damage was never a one two punch. All our damage was spread over a period of time and had to be burst skills. Takes us roughly 2 to 2.5 seconds to burst 10-15k damage ratio. And quite a few players were able to no surpass that damage with a single well, or single shot and do well over 23k damage. It's not easy being a cheesey class, when the makers of Ranger made us the Jack of All trades....master's of none....
  8. Could've been the enemy put up a reflect and the game never rendered it? Happens to me sometimes, i don't always see the Guard Bubble from F3 Tome until i start getting hit in the face from my own skills. (Happens with Oil pot sometimes too). No. The effect was an elementalist skill, and the guy running away was revenant.
  9. When I leave Warclaw my pet remains stowed 50% of the time and I have to Bond with Pet then de-bond in order for the pet to un-stow.
  10. Golems speed is affected by the Warclaw boon Warclaw Blessing. Don't know if that was purposeful. These things move like the bionic man now.
  11. Ok, I've read over the patch notes, and I noticed several odd occurrences. 1st up was an attack on Fire Keep, I decided to take away the enemies ability to use Lava Pool by taking out south Fire Shrine....even after taking the Shrine, the enemy was still able to use Lava Pool. When I went to take the second one...the enemy Lava Pools were still active...I did not see any patch notes in changes in the Lava Pool for Fire Keep on Desert Borderlands. 2nd up...I was firing at an enemy, when an allied Ele threw up a reflect in front of me....and my own arrowshots were THROWN right back into my face. And I was like...is that supposed to happen now...where i'm unable to hit the enemy because of our OWN reflects if an ally gets between me and my target? 3rd. Watched a Warclaw rider... DIP into the ground on the Blue Borderland on the east side of Souheast tower, and then come back up above the ground. When they went into the ground, my ability to damage the enemy stopped...and when they came back ABOVE the ground I was doing damage again....is there some new hidden pit or something, that stops damage from occurring? Any other funky strangeness people been witnessing in WvW after the Patch?
  12. My longest fight was 55 minutes. Ranger vs. Ranger in water. Don't know what your all worried about :p
  13. 8:18PM PST....the login just kept spinning going nowhere.
  14. Be aware of that if you wvw, there isn't a single commander that will call out in discord or chat, "Damn...we need more rangers if we're going to win this...." Not a very well accepted class for large scale battles.
  15. Bow is still viable. The idea of ranger using a bow is to do as much damage to the target, before the target gets up in your face hand to hand. Once the enemy has crossed the distance will a ranger switch to up close hand to hand weapons. Do damage at range, enemy gets to close quarters, switch to close quarters weaponry. Originally SEVEN YEARS AGO...it was a viable method of punishing the enemy for closing the distance to hit a ranger. With today's permaboons...it's effectively useless, with perma reflects, perma shields, perma regen every second.....I fricken hate boons. Think it's really messed up viable combat.
  16. If the ranger in question hits Rapidfire BEFORE you stealth, you will be tracked. You can do two things. Be faster in stealthing before the ranger hits said skill, or use blocks, evades, or shadowstep to either subvert or get out of range of the attack. Or you can take the full hit of the rapid-fire THEN stealth. You have options, your just failing to utilize those options. Another thing you ca do...tank up. Almost all i'm seeing out of thieves is basilisk venom. Use it or lose it. Can't rapid-fire if i'm stunned now can i.
  17. Hold up a second.... in EoTM often people were leveling toons. One decent, coordinated guild group of 15 could easily wipe Zergs of uplevels.. Please don’t ever use anything that happened in EoTM as a standard for balancing anything. The idea is quality can beat quantity. Whether it's 15 vs 60 uplevels, or even 15 vs 60 players that are all level 80 but don't have any idea except pew pew. I seen one necro take out 8 players, all level 80, of differing classes, in the span of under 1 minute....There is such a thing as literally overpowering a class to the point of....wow...i'm fighting James Bond, and he's literally being shot at , and is dodging bullets like he's Spiderman.....
  18. My ranger traces all the way back to the Ascalon wall during the Searing. Was human then, is human now. Pyre Fierceshot of the Charr ran around with bow in hand.
  19. Actually I detest Greatsword in the first place, mostly due to the stupid rooting system on some skills. I use it, the enemy sees it, takes two steps back, as my greatsword hits AIR....completely useless. The greatest Damage it can do, and it roots you to the ground, and the enemy just steps back. Same with axe #5...you ain't going nowhere. The only time I can use these skills is if the enemy believes they can take me down before I take them down, when those skills are anywhere near useful. But I hate Greatsword.
  20. Was in discord last night, and had to listen to the commander disparage ranger's once again. Thought it was pretty much done with when the majority of our wvw guilds left our server...but there it was again last night, with me getting an earful. I hit elementalist that wear armor that has a bonus to cause CHILL if their struck...allowing them to run away and get out of range of my bow. Or get pulled in by a dragonhunter, and get burned into a crisp at close range. Or attempt to keep my distance from a scourge who wants me to get within his field to suck my soul dry....seriously....longbow is the only thing I got to help keep me alive at distance. You want a piece of me, you have to get up and close, or be able to maneuver fast like a thief and get outside of spitting distance of my bow. You have evades, use them. Between Runes, sigils, several skills on all classes, you have any number of options to make my longbow completely useless. Condi/tanks.....eat my longbow up like they were nothing more than flowers being flung down onto Caesar upon his victorious return to Rome. So no, don't touch my longbow.
  21. It's like being in a novel, and there is a giant battle in the chapter your reading....and your right in the thick of it, instead of imagining it.
  22. They should have just bought their own damn servers instead of renting, and payed their electric bill.
  23. Because when the game launched, there were 150-300 man ques on ALL maps, with EBG having the highest que. Even then it took anywhere between 2 to 5 hours BEFORE you got into a map sometimes. Wait times were ATROCIOUS. Now, some servers on reset night have little to absolutely NO ques, and in some cases on reset night are Outmanned for the rest of the night. We don't have the manpower we used to have. Think most of that was due to boredom of the breed. Same maps. Same tactics. Mustard or mayo, mustard or mayo, mustard or mayo. The only reason for the 4 maps now is tactical. You have your home map, and it's a matter of pride that you at least attempt defensive or offensive operations on your home map. The minute you IGNORE an enemy map completely, is when you basically hand over the keys to the enemy, and allow him to lock you in the trunk of the car as they go wherever they want, whenever they want. Reason BG had uninterrupted attacks for SO long, because everyone STOPPED attacking them on their Borderland. And because of that...they had complete control to go on the offensive on any map they wished. Who knows. If and when we do get Alliances, maybe WvW will have a renaissance . Hell, when they announced alliances couple years ago, the Guilds started doing GvG in Obsidian Sanctum....to find out which guilds they wanted to hook up with. Those guilds in the last couple years have had breakups, civil wars, and literally have been destroyed by complete boredom. Variety is the spice of life. I always said they needed more maps, and have those maps randomize during reset night. Would have added a more randomness. Deal with maps you love or detest....
  24. Basically you were nothing more than a condi/tank. I seen 1 scourge necro take out 8 players of all classes and experiences under a single well field. The minute I see this garbage, I have to say that anet didn't pay very good attention to singles taking out whole groups. I've seen 15 guardians take out 60 players in EOTM, not once, but multiple times. Now the question comes to mind is....did anet create a balance, or did they screw up so badly in mechanics that created this off balance play fighting?
  25. Dagger off hand is still good. I used to play LB/Sword-Dagger. It was a lot of fun. Lot of people didn't understand the "twist and turn" of couple the skills, but I had them down pat.
