  1. Norn feel like they have been somewhat left out after the personal story and don't have much screen time, there are some running around but most are not that important except Braham. They seem to be left with the cliche dwarf tropes but only with that and not much fleshing out. All the stuff about building legends kinda were left out.Since the Norn are something of a amalgamation of fantasy dwarf/giant, Celt, Gal, Viking, Scotish, Germanic and Slavic tribes do you think it will be good to use some of the history and the folk tales from each these peoples? Also please listen to some Amon Amarth before writing some Norn stories, they will need some oomph.
  2. If the score mattered more for how many points you lost people might try hard even if losing, maybe the AFK blits will start playing instead of doing chat pvp and pissing off people.
  3. Will be good if the score mattered and people lost less points if they try hard even when losing, so the AFK blits start playing instead of doing chat pvp and pissing off people.
  4. Conditions are mostly ccs and the game is really fast paced so if you get hit with some you will eat more. Most of them come from instant casts or large pulsing AOEs and most skills that apply conditions are ranged with hard to see casts (if they have any) since the whole animation consist of someone waving their hands in a funny way and most of the time they look the same. If they were applied with animation like Drop the Hammer with sound and visual queue would be better, instead of that you got grazed little bit by that circle under your feet and now you have cripple, poison, slow, chill and some torment and you can't move away from it cause you are limping.Condition CCs are stronger than hard CCs since conditions stack, while stuns overlap each other. Little bit of the control conditions on you are deadly and having them on top of damage ones sucks, and some double as both.Conditions feel bad cause they stop you from playing the game and you end up watching the UI more than the battle.
  5. Don't play multiple games one after another if you lose, the chance to get the same people you had last game and you didn't work well with them will be in large.
  6. It would be cool if they made monk elite where you punch people to heal your allies like Kharazim from Heroes of the storm.
  7. @Vagrant.7206Isn't it supposed to be more in line with the other special mode elites like reaper or berserker and is it attrition if it can 100 to 0 in stunlock?Where does holo exactly fall over, what is the drawback ?
  8. The problem with holo it is that it has short cds on most of it skills which makes it feel really spammy, it doesn't have down time it flows smoothly from one cooldown to the next and always have something to press to help it in a way that design might be good for pve (they buggered that up for some reason with the last patch), but it is terrible for pvp. Fighting holo is hard if you don't have sure fire escape or help for +1, you are screwed since their cds will come out faster and surviving the first holo forge is hard and you are always on the defensive and the heat mechanic doesn't work as a resource in my opinion it is self controlled cooldown and doesn't really have drawback to it, rev, thief, warrior, necromancer, druid have somewhat of a time limit on how they can keep up the fight. Look at warrior it is really good for 1v1 but is terrible at teamfight it can weave cds and bursts if it hits, the necromancer is on the other side it is better to have more bodies to hit to gain life force, rev and thief are on hit and run tactics and druid i don't know what purpose it has anymore, hope it becomes Teamfight healer or something.Holo is just safe all the time, since they never run out of options, there isn't really "my time is up" moment where you need help or you die .I know the design fits the RP for engi but it doesn't feel that great on the receiver getting stunlocked to death and not able to even make a dent on them since they are quite bursty and versatile for how good their defense is. It is just good at everything for pvp it can rotate fast , it can teamfight it can duel and it can +1, that is really cool but it sometimes ends up better at something than some classes designed for the job.
  9. Ask in here https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/categories/players-helping-players or in game in the LFG someone could take you to the end for free or for some gold.
  10. So from previous experience i can tell it will be on the scale of Istan or jahai bluffs, since it is the team that made them, the map could be larger since they said they will reduce the number of new maps so it will be more like dry top, silverwastes type that gradually opens up new areas, so if they half the maps to 3 so new map per 2 episodes ,the maps have constant population instead of having most of the people in the better 3 of the season or just the new one.The story will be mediocre, but bombastic so it grabs attention but not deep, it will introduce some new characters and flesh out some old ones that were left out. There would be some QOL changes i suspect the legendary runes, no new mount that would be for ep 3, there might be a new weapon set of skins (but it could be for ep2 ),no new armor skins we already got one the last ep so it is for the 2nd or the 3rd.I wonder if there would be pre event or the pre event was dragon bash , since the current events team is the festival team and that snowy area stuff feels like we are going after the sons of svanir. For the PAX event they will be talking how they will proceed further with the living world and maybe at the end they will drop a teaser for expansion, the last one is more of industry standard and NCSOFT took their publishing and marketing so expect something by the book, if they even announce anything that is. What i hope is that they will not waste cool encounters on one and done deal going forward and go into making the game fun and less about statistics, some boots on the ground will probably help, since most of the time it feels that they don't know what is making the game work for so many people and they just trow random ideas, which are great most of the time, but they don't work on them further. Statistics don't show if the thing the players do in game is fun for them, most of the time people funnel into activities that are most efficient for some end goal, the path of least resistance, but most of the time it is horribly boring activity as an example from the big daddy of MMOsWoW AP grind, Facebook game timer tables nobody likes them but they are efficient and everyone does them. It is nice having statistics but they are a tool not a guide and following only them ends up making everything repetitive and sucks the life and creativity of the whole thing and if you watch one of the dev streams for WoW it can be noticed that there is a lot of robotic statements.I'm focusing on WoW since Arenanet has been taking some ideas from there, but they should look at their mistakes also,( WoW started swiping ideas from GW2 and implementing them half baked, i fully expect they will copy the mount system in some way in the future).

  12. There were some leaked images for mobile game with Guild wars symbols, like the inquest logos on some barrels. So if there is a GW 3 it will be on mobile.
  13. Would be cool if there was a kick system, where one team votes someone off and the other team choses to let them and have them not lose points, while the one guy doesn't get the participation reward. I wonder how it can be abused thought.
  14. Will the cool story boss encounters get repeatable fractal/dungeon/raid mode?Previous bosses feel like they could have been great as a raid(Balthazar, both Kralkatorik fights , Mordremoth) or fractal( corrupted Aurene, Joko, Scruffy) but are left one and done .
  15. The whole point of this post is to make raids larger part of the game if large portion of the people play them gets to make more of them. As it is now the cost of development might not be worth the effort. Larger participation even in the lowest difficulty could be used infront NCSOFT as excuse for continued development.
  16. The problem with mirage is that they are always in control, and the only way to beat them is for them to fuck up and slap them randomly between defense abilities and dodges, conditions and ccs cover the small time they are vulnerable and when things get bad they blink away and reset. The only way i found to work to beat it is to flail around randomly and manage to cleanse enough confusion and torment so you can follow them since everything you do is working against you in some manner, make them waste their defense and then pop some large damage cd to blow em up, but it only works vs bandwagoners that just play it for how easy it is and have no idea how to play properly, good luck trying to beat experienced mesmer on that easy build. You can't really cc them for f sake. The mirage is the speck that simulates lag, the existence of the build is just to ruin your enjoyment of the game on every step, doesn't matter win or lose it just pushes your buttons till you lose your temper.I remember the one ventri build that was doing almost the same it was just knocking you back constantly and it came after the nerfs to pulsing stability.
  17. The problem with defense stats seems that they don't buff anything, almost no ability gets better with more toughness, vitality is kinda good on necro for the shroud, but having more damage stats boosts your weapon skills, defense just doesn't increase your blocks or dodges or defense utilities. There is an issue that even the damage stats have , they need the % traits and runes and sigils to be good, missing some +5 % drops the damage dealt a lot since it is multiplicative, they should get rid of these and just add damage stat and rebalance from there.
  18. For wvw and pvp it is locked onto the ground no fancy teleports, you walk , it can stack long distance travel on flat ground without obstacles which means you have to always take the long road .
  19. I've been trying this in pvp http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQNAseTnMdAVhgdeAmkCElilrADJAkASdK5gWXN4d0eabtA-jZhAQBA4JA0hTAgGOEAwY/hiWGAA it still needs something or just everything is way too spammy, but it beats up spellbreakers easy. I also tried something with tactics instead of defense with shouts but it also feels somewhat off.Too bad there is no wizard stat set in the game though.
  20. They should probably do this for all professions with similar skills that have this draw back and may be add it to skills that are kinda over the top.
  21. So as we know there is some drop in raid population and might be a good idea to have something to easy in people into raiding.Something along the lines of hope in get slapped with all the training golem buffs + some stat buffs ( when the build templates come out suggested builds feature) , and get reduced number of rewards for it compared to the real deal. The other option is to be 25 man with the same scaling of the bosses in the instance. Also this could work for first tier fractals. Also to point out having more casual people raiding , would mean more need for new raids, since it will be a more prominent feature for the game.
  22. That could potentially be good idea for easy mode raids but it would need something like a queue or hot join with wait list.
  23. 400 a second. A heal is usually 20-30s cd. 30 x 400 = 12,000 i think? So the possibility is ok, however 400 is a lot more than 10% per hit (or 5% i think the trait is) as normal hits average 2-3k i think. And take longer than 1 second to hit, if we take the 3k dmg, = 150 healing a second per foe. If this assuming you hit 2 foes per strike (approx 150-200 a second factoring in attack speed idk the exact maths by heart) is what anet believes it “too much survivability” I sadly think double that is to them also too much, HOWEVER if we factored in gravediggers 30k or so thats 1500 maybe which is nice but again 2 or so seconds, blah blah , overall nice “idea” however current is actually weaker on average so if you buff it (and by proxy make it healing power effected) that would make anet even more likely to say necros live too long. (You’d tjink on the Vitality 2x health bar caster they would WANT you to survive, since you do lower damage than other casters) Well the old gs trait was healing 200 per second and gave 2% LF in combat, the rework felt worse and the only reason it was better was the heal in shroud since the 5% heal from out healed for around 50 to 140 hp and the necromancer doesn't have really that great weapons to use with this trait. GS is too slow for the trait in pvp and the trait is somewhat useless in pve since the time it can be optimal, when the boss is under 50% hp and gravedigger is spammed with all the boons you are healed by the support.I checked other leach and options on necro and they are horrible, dagger leach is worthless 400 per hit, signet the same, passive the same, they are just dps increase. They don't want the leach to be good, the only option to keep your hp up is the shroud but it is on 10s cd, so it has to be supported but it can't be supported that well cause the shroud, too many draw backs for little pay off. I enjoy it, when once in a while stars align and you get to the the play where you kill the whole opposing team, but outside of that i feel like i'm handicapping myself.I know that people left and were laid off and starting idea was probably forgotten, but can they have idea what the main goal of the elite specialization, what makes it special, not the gimmicks and the flashy stuff but the practical effects, what is it good at and why would anyone take you in a fractal, raid or pvp over someone else. With optimal damage build even your normal AA hits should do more than 10k in PvE. You would have to run some low damage build to only heal 50-140 hp. It was stupidly strong in both organized and open world content. Are you really telling me you are only dealing 1k-2.8k dps out of shroud in raids for it to heal 50-140 hp? Have you ever seen a proper reaper rotation? Gravedigger is not spammed as all it does is replacing your autoattack. You still go through the rotation. I have a strong feeling a lot of people are just not understanding how strong it was due to the poor builds that are being played. Also old gs trait was 200 hp per second and 0.5% LF while you are wielding a GS. You never really camp GS in PvP and in PvE it means nothing. The 20% cd reduction was more the true factor and that only really matters in PvP.50 to 140 for pvp, who the hell cares how much you heal in PVE, no one can be bothered to heal your kitten popping in and out of shroud, get a berserker does the same and it is not being a princes about it. Old trait was better at that you had 2000 hp healed before entering shroud again and helped somewhat in kiting. Some people around here just want to argue for the sake of it and go for the tiniest of kitten. If you read up i care more about the pvp side of things in pve you can be healed way easier so having great self healing is not something that useful. Then you need to word it better, I was more referring to since it sounded like you had no idea what you were talking about in PvE. You were never instantly healed up by the support, it also encouraged the laziness play style of "who cares if I get hit, I am just going to shroud at 20% and heal it back up". It was such a crutch that playing it makes the class feel invincible in PvE which is not good. In PvP, you would have to kite with a gs for 10 seconds for this to heal 2000 hp, 2000 hp is not even enough to heal you from 1 hit. Even when you are kiting I would never run around with a GS, the most I would do is drop a nightfall and run away with warhorn due to swiftness and the axe 3 so I can counter pressure while running. You used it for the 20% cd reduction and that's it. In fact the common buld didn't use gs at all at the time, it was staff + axe/warhorn. Decimate Defense was better in most situations in PvP. It was just a mediocre trait at the very best and bad at the very. The new SE is in the same position, DD is just better. You want sustain? Do you know what you should suggest them buffing? Blighter's boon and death magic. Both are defense trait/line that has fallen out of place. There was some meme when 2 charge BIP was introduced so you can get 30LF with blighter's boon at the start so there's working room given more updates. Soul eater is one of those traits that offered both offense and defense which I think is bad overall for the game. You really don't want one trait to do it all for the most cases. When's the last time people run chilling victory in PvP? How about we try playing around with that instead of pooling everything into one place.Power on necro is all over the place, whole rework on death magic would be good, but i don't like the minions, for many people they are a crutch, for me they are liability. The damage modifiers make it barely just good enough for the drawbacks, passive defenses would not help much reaper in pvp. The traits in the same row are kinda bad for power reaper since it can't get much value out of them, everyone is prepared for mirage, and scourge and applying enough chill and vuln on everything that is supper charged is not easy and the task is not worth the effort, they have to be kept up and covered and that is just moving to hybrid or condition reaper. Your defense is the damage you pull to scare people off and you have make everything count and make it count now. If the game slows down and with little tweeks they will see play, but with everything that is now running around, it is kill or get killed and that little bit of hp that you got in shroud helped enough to not let you die from the random conditions flying around.
