EoD expansion - buy or not to buy
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to Baldovin.1392's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
I certainly wasnt "arguing" with anyone. I simply stated my approach to purchasing new games. -

EoD expansion - buy or not to buy
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to Baldovin.1392's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
Never preorder. Wait a week for reviews and launch woes. Then decide. There are more games than can ever be played so theres no rush on any one. Ive found as ive gotten older fomo just isnt a thing anymore. It will still be there. And if it isnt well you must not have missed much. -
End of Dragons Elite Specialization Updates

There are only so many ways to reimagine a class designed from go to be supremely flexible. Thats why the especs are mechanical alterations more than anything. -
End of Dragons Elite Specialization Updates

Im honestly shocked at the work youve put in. Even if some tinkering still needs to be done im now confident youll have it squared by release. Thank you, and good job. Now let me go find my hat... -
New Weapons Shouldn't be Designed as Part of The Mechanic
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to Downstate.4697's topic in Professions
Total teardown and redesigns are simply not going to happen at this point. Anet is already way behind. Remember release has already been delayed and its obvious how unfinished the game is. We still have not seen seige turtles even. Theyll make some small changes but what weve seen is what were getting. -
not sure about the new mechanic. once upon a time rift had a cleric class called defiler. it had tethered mitigation bubbles that were unique to it. the class became required for all hard content and was just all around a pain. wasnt too long before the class was redesigned entirely. now, gw1 monk had some similar abilities that were balanced out by gimping mana regen and limiting the use of other abilities. maybe this will leech from initiative?

Turn Guild Wars 1 into a Smartphone Game
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to GuriGashi.5617's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Immortal went badly because people were expecting D4. GGG games turned around and did the same thing but had the good sense to announce PoE2 first. -
EoD - A good time for earth fields?

Rangers have muddy terrain. Add bleed and maybe blind or something. -
Chillout with the loot please.
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to Southerncarl.2740's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Sounds like a game with a poorly managed economy made worse by a botting problem. Sure you wont share? I think the problem is that most drops are near worthless and that there is far too much "stuff". A common issue in f2p games. Wonder why... -

Does magic find/luck still have no effect on drops from bags? -
No more chore-I mean "hearts" please!
fenriswolfman.5486 replied to Devildoc.6721's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Youre in the wrong genre if you dont like "chores". Mmo or otherwise. And if there were no icons on the map or bars to fill but activities and npcs present, I would still do them. Because its an rpg and not a sandbox. -

I like them better for telling a story and helping to flesh out the world. Especially combined with the event system. Traditional quests are very point A-B-C. Most hearts have you doing multiple things simultaneously as part of story for that area. I feel this is much more organic than being spoon fed small bits at a time, and far more immersive.- 141 replies
