  1. I like chuka better, but I tend to run dreamer in pvp/wvw because I imagine its way more annoying for opponents.
  2. Back on the topic of vindicator, its pretty bad now the gs5 nerf was extremely overdone and which sucks as it kind of is the one skill on the weapon that isn't super generic. One more thing I kind of hate about current vindicator is that the strongest variant runs jalis + shiro while alliance, despite being way more fun imo, is just lagging behind overall even with the really powerful tree song skill, the rest of the kit just doesn't keep up. The current state is what happens when you give an espec a crippling tradeoff (1 dodge that costs twice as much as normal) and then completely neuter the strong points which acted as compensation.

Yes and no, core is better for the 1v1 as jalis has superior sustained healing + damage plus retri has better traits than herald so it will just out muscle a meta herald in a head to head matchup. But herald is better against focus fire with infuse light and a reliable stunbreak on glint which jalis really lacks even if it has good stability access. Herald also brings a bit more mobility for sticking to targets in +1's with rising momentum and has some boon share for allies via glint facets. Ultimately herald is the meta for too tier play while core is not and there is a reason for it.
  4. Life steal is simply different from normal power damage in that it scales more like healing skills having a base value and a scaling contribution. Normal power damage only has a power coefficient and a weapon strength with no base values.
  5. By 6k he meant the sum of healing + barrier. I would have assumed that was obvious.
  6. Now we are going to see if I'm correct or not because both skills got absolutely gutted. I don't see vindicator being competitive anymore, but I might be wrong.
  7. If its going to be pve espec that's pretty bas as it stands its an easy top 5 worst pve especs across all classes/exansions.

My perspective has generally been that gs5 and saint shield were inevitably going to be gutted because they are very strong at which point you are stuck with gs just being a slow heavily telegraphed weapon with minimal utility and average damage, a single dodge that costs twice as much as a normal dodge (remember how much mirage was crippled by having 1 dodge? And theirs still only costs 50 endurance while having more other ways to avoid damage like distortion, stealth, etc.), a very underwhelming trait line, and a legend which while fun and not bad is quite clunky and is generally outclassed by core legends. Its give and take on the strengths and weaknesses and vindicator definitely has some big weaknesses and will struggle immensely without some big strengths.
  9. The one animation that really needs to change is gs 2 because it uses the exact same animation as the first hit of the auto attack chain just slightly slower. Using animations for multiple skills across different classes is disappointing but acceptable but using the same animation for two skills on the same weapon set is really obvious and ruins counterplay in competitive modes.
  10. There's a lot to be said about vindicator but complaining that eternity's requiem is better than meteor show is dumb, meteor shower is not a strong skill in pvp and never has been. Staff ele has litterally never been top tier viable aside from a few stints as a low damage heal and aoe cc build. Its just like all the calls to give infuse light a cast time and "bring it inline" with defiant stance when defiant stance has always been trash despite having significant advantages over infuse light. Eternity's requiem will inevitably get toned down but it should still hit extremely hard, the telegraph is massive and can't be hidden by stealth or instant ports and rev doesn't have great cc options to set it up other than jalis taunt. Vindi gs has relatively little utility for a two hander weapon so high damage is justified especially how slow and telegraphed it is.
  11. Power herald didn't actually lose benchmark dps since swift termination always did more dps than dance of death in optimal scenarios. DoD was just close enough and offered a ton of self sustain that it would generally end up higher due to better scholar uptime and being able to play more aggressively. Sadly the numbers have always been really low and now it is really running out of redeeming qualities. Also p herald bench is around 31k with selfish dps traits so decent amount better than 27k but still bad.
  12. I figured that was what you meant, and it literally doesn't work go test it. Even with rev still being able to proc swap sigils with legend swap in spvp (this will be fixed soon, anet is very swift at fixing bugs that benefit revenant not ones that hinder it) it doesn't work because two swap sigils of the same kind share the same cooldown.
  13. Classic nerfing around a problem to make it go away rather than fixing the actual problem. Taunt is a buggy mess with regards to how stunbreaks tend to not work immediately on it so instead of fixing taunt nerf the main source of taunt into oblivion instead. Lazy and incompetent decision.

  15. The contrary, gs has more single target and cleave damage than sw/sw despite swords supposedly being the single target damage weapons. They are at least close enough that the optimal rotations so far utilize both sets, but it kind of leaves non vindicator power rev builds screwed.
  16. They don't, however most thief initiative skills are either nearly instant cast and just don't get interrupted or are mobility like heart seeker or channeled like unload which give immediate effect and thus cost full initiative when interrupted.
  17. Alliance stance heal skills are in a unique place with extremely small heals on extremely low cooldowns but also with fairly beefy cast times. If you spam alliance skills off cooldown its litterally 30% of your time would be spent casting heal skills which is frankly obnoxious and has very obvious drawbacks spending that much time casting channeled heal skills. If you don't spend tons of time casting the heal skills the hp/s from them is quite weak.

  19. The pvp tab is only for amulet runes and sigils, weapons follow the pve slots for the template.

  21. Im hoping that this will give anet a reason to bring p herald dps more inline with the rest of the classes but I feel like it's just going to be dumpstered without compensation as anet has a very long history of not caring about herald.

This right here is the single biggest issue with regards to leaderboard integrity its both completely broken and extremely easy to abuse for ridiculous win rates as long as you are a decent plat tier player. There are other ways to game the system but they are either less effective or require more than 2 people working together. The simple and obvious fix is for both players in a duo to be counted as having the same rating as whichever player has the higher rating.
  23. One personal preference I have would for all skills in the game be balanced around a cooldown of 60 seconds maximum. On the micro scale, longer cds tend to just make fight results more based on what cooldowns are available at the start of the engagement. For example a reaper with lich on cd is an easy target but they are a major threat with lich available, mechanical skill doesn't matter much in this situation. There is an argument for having big cd's that can swing games in seconds adding hype and testing how the enemy team manages to play around the infrequently available win button but I'm not a fan.
  24. I like spirit watch and it makes me kinda of sad how so much of the community resents it and basically any map that plays significantly differently from pre existing maps. Then they have the audacity to ask for new maps and we get bland maps like djin's dominion with essentially the same secondary objective as the reworked skyhammer and capricorn just with a different reward which in that case is so diluted in power for fear of people whining about it being op that no one even goes for it.
