  1. CC skills should do normal damage, and the change to reduce their damage to 0 should be reverted in its entirety. That philosophy clearly ended up causing massive problems, such as making Revenge Counter useless (since its a tratit that buffs the damage of a skill that doesnt do damage), and Prime Light Beam becoming just infinitely worse than Supply Crate. Even with this minor buff, I do not see myself ever picking PLB over the much more powerful Supply Crate, even on Holosmith. PLB needs to do big damage to be able to compete with a lower cast time, much larger AoE stun that also has additional benefits past that. This patch also seems to be missing buffs to a lot of other non-300 second cd traits that were rendered completely unusable in the february 2020 megapatch, like Pulmonary Impact. Will we ever see buffs to those traits, or will they forever be left to rot? Finally, nerfing the Tactical Reload interaction with shouts is good, but now Bladesworn is back to its previous, underperforming state, in large part due to Gunsaber being a bad kit youre forced to use, to the point where Bladesworn players will spam 2 until its on cooldown then drop the kit asap. There should've been compensationary buffs to Gunsaber, which in the stream were mentioned, but seemingly were not included?
  2. Oh they have the time to fix big mistakes. Do they have the motivation to fix big mistakes? I doubt it.
  3. No, youre right, it is bad. Engineer as a whole is the worst class, and Mechanist is not even the best Engineer spec. Thats Holo, again.
  4. >Afraid to nerf thief >Thief is the class with the most nerfs in PvP out of all of them, often getting nerfed at random when they dont deserve it ???? Like had you said spectre you mightve had a point, spectre is broken and was oddly untouched, but thief has been nerfed more times than any other class.
  5. Im concerned. The February 2020 megapatch that CMC brought us was an unmitigated disaster, and the damage its done is felt to this day. Its nice that the 300 seconds traits will be reworked, but what about all the now useless skills as a result of CC skills not doing any damage?
  6. Daredevil. After it came out, there was only one brief moment where Core Thief was better, and the current spectre situation where daredevil wasnt the only thief you saw around. Holo after the megapatch (though theyre gone now) too.
  7. This is an interesting question. WvW less so, so I'll skip it and focus on PvP. Let's get the obvious out of the way, thief is broken in this hypothetical. Like really broken. Like possibly the most broken any build has ever been in PvP. You get your old mobility, actually really strong burst, and headshot is now a 2 second daze that is nearly instant and also does something like 4k-5k damage if it interrupts you, for 4 initiative. Also dagger auto does good DPS now (which it always should've tbh). Beyond that, condi builds are broken because now you wont have enough cleanse to ever survive, CC becomes insane so everyone has to run 2 or 3 stunbreaks, and classes that arent good at CC or condi that arent thief just fall off a cliff. And as a result, I can see a deathball meta forming, both to deal with thief trying to +1 people, but also to deal with how crazy condi becomes and how neccessary AoE cleanses become. So it gets very snowbally, and very macro-heavy. It almost sounds like a neat game, but it + random matchmaking + low playercount sounds like hell.
  8. "Overpowered"? Right now Engineer is arguably the worst class in PvP, and Mech is straight up irrelevant. You should be happy about facing 2 of them, youre gonna win.
  9. Make Tactical Reload and Lush Forest only work on Bladesworn abilities (no shouts), buff Gunsaber, and thats all you need to do.
  10. Its people thinking that Rifle was buffed to be super op when it turned out the damage is the same for PvP. But no, Mechanist sucks. Engineer as a whole sucks right now, its probably the second-worst class.
  11. Up to late 2019, yes. The 2020 megapatch then drastically lowered skill floor and skill caps, and since then its pretty much stayed that low since.
  12. I think its unaffected by quickness too. Seems like it just has a set, unchangeable animation.
  13. There is no way to burst anyone in under 2 seconds, 1v1, unless you have a ridiculous amounts of setup. Even DE struggles with that, especially without 7 malice already banked. The problem was that they tuned down the damage. Nothing else. Active defenses are good, they create a back and forth. If the only way to make the powerdip were in marginally less bad is to make active defenses go away and turn everything into basically a turn-based slap fight, then this system is dog.
  14. Whats with people loving this false equivalence? Its a game, not a bloody job. The point of a game is to have fun. If you make everyone equal regardless of difficulty, everyone has fun. If you make only hard builds matter, most people dont have fun.
  15. Same reason you play Oro over Cammy in SFV. Or Yasuo over Sylas. Or Zato-1 over Sol. Its called "fun".
  16. Sustain is fine. We do in fact just need more damage. We lack damage. There are a handful of skills that, with extreme drawbacks, can do 7k or a bit more damage. These skills are usually slow, telegraphed and heavily delayed, making them not even as good as hitting someone with a 4.5k burst followed by autos a lot of the time. 3-5k is pathetic damage. Thats the damage a basic skill should have, not your big burst. If your big burst barely puts a dent in their healthbar, something is wrong. Except we had all of that in core. It wasnt an issue. Because the damage was there. It created a nice back and forth between damage and mitigation and healing, and it lead to engaging gameplay. Now the damage is so low you can just bunker endlessly with barely any actual survivability. The good first step is to increase damage across the board by 15-20%. Undo the "CC skills do no damage" part of the february megapatch. Or hell, just revert it.
  17. Huh? Stealth is the most counterable "defensive" option. In fact, its so counterable, that its outright terrible as a defensive option, its use is almost exclusively offense and out of combat utility. A lot of classes have 100% agency, ironically thief is one of the ones who, unless theyre running a dodge-heavy build, dont.
  18. The problem wasnt that it lacked followup. The problem was that the very foundation it was supposed to be was rotten. It did not fix the game, it made it worse, and every followup change could only exarcerbate that.
  19. Their big patch they did last time all but doomed the gamemode. Id rather they revert it than take a second crack at a big patch tbqh.
  20. Huh. Apparently it was shadowbuffed, because it does do more damage than it used to. Still very little, and its still atrocious. Like to give you a perspective, a single pulmonary impact does roughly as much damage as half of dagger 1. Youre better off going havoc-specialist and just autoing lmao. Even with Draining Sigil it aint good. Unironically, to make it work, it should be doing damage in the ballpark of Shadowshot (since youre using initiative to do damage and stop an attack in both cases), so roughly 4-5 times as much as it does right now.
  21. It used to be better, actually moving through the enemy if you were close enough, and doing damage. For some reason they nerfed an already underperforming spec after the first beta, and made gunsaber worse.
  22. It was nerfed way too hard. Nowadays it does like 200 damage, on a glass build. Youre better off just using the low endurance damage buff, even if you only auto it will add more damage.
  23. Every class was stronger in core than it is now. Were in a major powerdip, and have been since the disastrous 2020 megapatch.
  24. More accurately, it used to work really well. Nowadays its worthless, basically completely unusable.
  25. Staying in stealth was always a trap. Youre just vulnerable if you stay in stealth in combat, and out of combat permastealth was degenerate anyway. This just synchronises what stealth is strong at with the traitline and ... honestly it probably made the traitline OP. Its crazy how good it is now.
