Cooldown on using a doorway portal.

The colored doorway portals that let you blip in and out of keeps/towers need a cooldown.  Having multiple people pop through the door stacked with every buff and barrier possible to try to nuke people and equipment then zip back in 5 seconds later is illogical.  

 

It needs at least a 20-30 second debuff.  

 

It's idiotic that a handful of practically immune people can run out a door for a few seconds at a time to destroy siege equipment without consequence then hop right back into a door.

This is the part of the game mode you deem "illogical"?

Defenders already have enough disadvantages. Getting hit with a debuff for coming out to fight would be ridiculous. If we were gonna fix that, we'd need to fix stuff like attackers pulling defenders off walls, LoS issues for defenders on walls, shield spam nullifying defender siege, etc.

Since people has a tendancy to do illogical sieges - such as using rams in a small group unable to defend themselves against a few bursters - an illogical defense is just common sense.

You might be built to square up, but they might be built to support their sides version of you. 

I feel like those doors ways are pretty often where a few people need a res fast but no one can get to them. I always feel bad about that but, you know. 

I think it's mostly fine right now but if Anet starts zeroing in on structure mechanics, I'd like the top of walls to be more legit as one of the first things to look at.

Except being able to hit and run is exactly why fortifications were invented?

This reminds me of the objection that people on top of walls shouldn't be safe from those below.

If you're standing under a fortress' walls, shouldn't you be uniquely vulnerable? Isn't that why there is long range siege? Isn't that why flame rams are cheap to build and do a lot of damage?

You only use rams if you have a distinct advantage in attacking. Otherwise use catapults. Enemy gates are not supposed to be safe. You can also use golems if you just want to damage the gate as much as possible.

Also what's a CC?  Yea I can see people being unkillable the first few rounds but if they're able to abuse it every 5 seconds (meaning they already used cooldowns), then I really recommend equipping some gear, check to see if it has stats, and make sure you're running a build that does something.

Furthermore, putting whatever wards and reflects and whatevers will prevent them from doing much anyways.

That is how everyone play WvW.  Even if you have a debuff on the gate portal, people will still mass - stealth, drop on you from above the wall to destroy you if you are not careful.

A few pointers.
How not to get kill near a gate portal. 
1) don't attack other people's objective.
2) don't place your siege near a gate portal. 
3) out sneaks your opponents, mount up to sniff  once in a while when you are trying to be sneaky. 
4) use long range siege, ie: a trebuchet. 
5) play attention, don't chit chat while you are trying to attack other's objective.
6) have a scout.
7) know your enemies, remember who and how they fight - not every squad will gate portal bomb you .

Simple answer is no. Walls already are death traps. You want to give attackers even more of an edge. -1. You want to draw out defenders, simply attack farther out to attract more open field fights. Then the field is more balanced.
