A great hero and friend, who has been with us since Ghost of Ascalon, has died recently. There is a sword left behind as a small memorial, but I would request that they put something at Vigil keep in memory of her. Please arena net, give her a proper burial with those she’s fought along side and protected all these years.. Let it known all the good she’s done for the people of Tyria over the years as well.

She’s founded the vigil out of a need for revenge, but has helped Tyrians all over, regardless of enemy. She and the Vigil have made sure the peace talks were even a possibility, with aid from malice and her granddaughter Ember Doomforge. She even had to have her cub killed to help pave the way for peace. Her organization has actively went out of the way to save and protect civilians. She was part of Slaying the three dragons. I don't believe I have listed all she's done, but hopefully enough to show the impact she's had on the world,

At the end, even as there was not much hope. She tried to save a friend and fellow member of the vigil, Jhavi Jorasdottir, by trying to put up a resistance to give her a chance to run. I am honored to have had her along with us over the 7 years of guild wars 2, and the books, And I am sad that she will no longer be along with us for the fight in the future, or even see the fruit of all her labor. May Almorra Soulkeeper rest easy in the mist, knowing she even helped save them too.

Signed,Blaze Direfang(may edit as a friend reads over it. Tabs broke it, fixed i think)

That upset me more than I expected. She's never been more than a minor character from our perspective, but the prologue and the song about her got me thinking that actually she's done more than anyone else in Tyria to fight the dragons. The Commander gets called out as an integral part in each of their deaths, but we were pretty much just reacting to events as they happened, Almorra made them happen. Founding the Vigil who are the face of the fight against the dragons all over the world, pushing for Tyrians to fight the dragons, supporting the founding of the Pact, leading campaigns against the dragons and their minions...

She's always been there and I just kind of assumed she always would be there, until it was finished. I had my suspicions about that message at the start, but I kept thinking the svanir took her communicatior - one of them could be using it. The entire time we were searching I just assumed we'd find her alive and well. so when we did find her it was a real surprise for me.

I hope she does get some sort of tribute. The Black Citadel has a whole gallery of statues to charr heroes, I hope Almorra will be included. Or something at Vigil Keep maybe.

part of why i made this post, I'm honestly sad that she's gone. Anet doesn't really show how much she's actually done... and she's done a lot for tyria... there isn't much she wasn't involved in... but the commander kept being praised for it. Which, is because the story is focused on our actions, but still, means some world saving hero's besides us might not get enough time on screen. I was highly relieved that she didn't become a corrupted enemy of ours...

I agree she needs something bigger but if you want it put in Gendarren where players who haven't seen the story yet would see it, you probably need to wait who knows how long before the spoiler period has reasonably expired, if it ever does given the inflow of new players who like to work through the story in sequence. While they're certainly vulnerable to spoilers, those aren't usually put in low level areas.

Hmm, one possible solution -- is the Trahearne statue even visible to someone that's not completed HoT? That sort of phasing might work.

It's not. If I remember correctly it's not even visible to other characters on your account who haven't completed HoT. I assume if they did add a statue of Almorra somewhere outside of the new map they'd do the same thing. (Which I'd prefer to putting it in a new map where, from an in-universe perspective, it would be more out of the way and forgettable.)

I'm all for this. Almorra was one of the most important persons in the whole dragon fighting business, maybe even the very most important one. As for a good place for a memorial - I vote for the Vigil Keep, seems most logical to me.

And as a side note - I wonder if/how the consequences of her death will be dealt with. After all, she was pretty much a "world leader" having such a powerful organization under her command. (And poor Laranthir is now probably even more of a lost case in his love seeking...)

Not only was she instrumental in the figures against the dragons with the organization she created, and other threats around Tyria that the Vigil are seen fighting against yup protect people, but the Vigil is also known for doing charity work to help those in need, and was one of the major helpers of refugees in many situations. She didn't just seek revenge and victory, but she steered her order to go beyond battle and work to help people in need. She's been instrumental in the defeat of three elder dragons and the fight against others, as well as in the aid of people in need. Obviously we don't expect they're to be an immediate big memorial at the keep, etc, these things take time. But this certainly should serve as a reminder that such a memorial is highly deserved and should appear at some time in the future. And perhaps a statue at the citadel with the heroes there too.

May the Vigil keep up the work she started with them in protecting Tyria from dangers and taking care of those in need.

Signed,Carylma Smashblade, Vigil

And signed many other residents of Tyria who have had the honor to fight alongside her order, and who have been aided by them.

@Ashantara.8731 said:There will be more revealed about Almorra's death later on, so patience. Changing old areas accordingly would conflict with previous story content and confuse new players (as it would be a huge spoiler).

As others have mentioned Traehearnes monument works in a way that unless youve finished that story you cant see it.

To the OPS post. I agree but instead put up a statue inside of the Vigils HQ. Perhaps a smaller one in the BC too.

A smaller one in BC would be cool! Also, vigil keep is vigil HQ over in gendarren... unless you mean in the instance? I was thinking the unfinished parts of vigil keep could be a good spot for a memorial type spot the more i thought about it, just have it appear there depending on if you did story.
