My guess is that there will be a whole mess of new skins in the coming months, especially at holiday events. Just sit back and wait. Eventually I bet there will be more choice and cheaper options.

If they come out with a Reindeer one for Christmas I would definitely contemplate buying it!!!

Of course the OP's comment is hyperbole. I seriously doubt she/he has issues. If you like the skin and don't mind paying $25 of real world money for it, go for it. I hope Wintersday will bring more-better-cheaper skins to the store.

Unless you absolutely love and adore it, I would wait. There’s bound to be more 2000 gems mount skins coming to the gemstore, which you might like better for that price.

Especially when you consider the work going into either:

Outfits require different modelling and rigging for each of the races AND sexes.

Mounts only require one base rig and model that scales differently depending on the rider's race.

Simply put: either they are really underselling Outfits, or seriously overpricing mount skins.

I think I'd fall for Springer skins. That dude is just cute.

Lets not forget, that's $25 for a single skin. Forget that, i'd rather spend that money on steam and get a full game. I'm fine with these games wanting to make a little money off of skins and the like, but they are just getting down right greedy.

I fully agree BTW. If they continue with this pricing scheme I know I'll never buy one.

I will never buy any mount skin at that price, 2k gems is way overpriced.Mountskin prices should be around the same as for gliders and outfits. I'd rather take the chance with a few mount skin adoptions. Even I don't get my favorites, I at least consider the price pr. skin reasonable.

And I do like the designs from some of these Mountfits, but 400 Gems is a reasonable price enough for some fashion item.Just because other MMOs are leeching on their players money, that doesn't mean GW2 should jump the bandwagon, too.

A thing done even by a million other ppl, doesn't make this a good thing per se. Look at IRL history and you instantly know about this!

i think it's nice but i'll only buy the raptor skin if they release tengu as a playable race

so i can have a bird riding on a bird. See if i can go all out with the whole bird theme.
