  1. So we need to nerf thief and holo first, as they can burst for much more damage even from stealth.
  2. People aren't able to track two different things and dodge them, hell most players cant track 1 thing and dodge what they need to. So pets are nuking people who aren't adapting. The pets are super exploitable and people can't learn to play. Unfortunately, in this thread, these are warriors who really have little chance vs core ranger unless they go condi - which hasnt been viable in ages it seems. With recent damage nerfs, pets are back to where they used to be, able to be useful and people hate it. Core ranger still has pet swap. Hardly makes your case for having AI do on par damage with the Ranger, over short bursts. Esp since pets get lost in the clusterkitten of shiny rings and effects. So rangers are not allowed a working class mechanic? Also pets die really fast in that 'clusterkitten of shiny rings and effects' and are less of a problem there than in a 1vs1. Rangers are good duelists and get worse the more players are there. Shave the buff stacking if you want to nerf pets and leave the core stats alone...
  3. They have a vendor value. Just sell them to a vendor of your choice.
  4. There is no random CC. The pets use it as the first or second attack after switching and on cooldown afterwards. Most of them have also an obvious animation that is easy to dodge. And pets miss around 80% of their attacks anyway if you keep moving...If you get constantly CCed by passive pet skills it's a player problem, not the game.
  5. A single pet easily outclasses 5 turrets though.And Minions are essentially a pile of useless meat which serves only to hinder and cripple. Yeah they are a class mechanic...Do you want only 1 skill in Death Shroud? Or only switch one skill with an ele attunement at the time?
  6. Turrets are utility skills. Pets are a class kit, like Reaper Shroud or Photon Forge or Firebrand Tomes. I was wondering if maybe the pets were intended to be effective? And you can only have one of them active at the same time not five like turrets or minions.
  7. So, again, we're back to the problem being caused by the game design, not by players. This has nothing to do with game design. This happens in every area in life when you gain experience and knowledge. At a certain point you want to spend time with other people with a simliar experience, either to discuss things or learn more or do a task more efficient. You surround yourself with people that have simliar interests and knowledge you have. You don't want to explain most things everytime you play a boardgame or want to have a discussion. It is completely player made as there is a certain demographic that just don't want to improve or learn. And they were trained in the early days that they don't need it. The early game design amplified the problems we have now. But they aren't caused by game design. People will always find ways to only play with the people they want to. And if you change it to public match making only those people will just stop playing.

  9. Precursors drop from everything that can award exotics, yes also raids. Why should they change it in those specific instances?
  10. I actually switched from collecting materials for the trinkets to runes and sigils. That has a lot more use for me when they also get accountbound, especially for WvW.
  11. Yeah and that was one of the biggest controversies during the early days. That you can clear any content with any build. That 'Build Wars' is completely forgotten.And now that you need it, it's the worst thing ever because you can't expect 'casuals' to play the game as it was intended. With swapping skills on the fly.It killed WoW raid variabilty. No more multi tank encounters or other classes than the dedicated ones with tank tree. Steamlining raids for lazy people who don't care about utility and composition kills a lot of creativity for raids. It is not healthy for group content in the long run and should never be used.
  12. I can't help but notice that composition included two healers, two support and six damage dealers with condition damage, that's the meta build composition for Raids. I also notice that their composition does have access to boon strip. In a sense it's a very good composition, where for one reason or another they used terrible stats and miss-matched weapons on, but the composition itself is meta as it covers all you'll need in a Raid fight. The "bad design" comment I made is about bosses in Raid wings requiring specific things, that others in the same wing do not. For an easy example, Vale Guardian requires boon strip, don't tell me you can kill Vale Guardian without a source of boon strip. However, Sabetha does not. If you build a composition specifically for Sabetha you don't need boon strip, but it's essential for Vale Guardian. For another easy example, Matthias requires projectile reflection, please don't tell me how doable the fight is without it. Slothasor and Trio do not require projectile reflection (projectile destruction is good though) Arenanet designs specifically for compositions, and the composition requirements change between bosses of the same wing. That's bad design and an actual problem. showing a composition that can cover EVERYTHING but with non-meta (or terrible) build/gear choices) isn't gonna change that. Reflection is a bad example. There are 3 classes that can't reflect at all or have too high cooldowns. That is Thief, Revenant and Necromancer. Unless you run a raid with only those 3 classes you have the ability to adapt your build for Matthias. Yes not all of those are optimal but they work. Boon remove is an even worse example as you can slot in 2-3 Sigils of Nullification and you are good to go. Deimos would have been a better example as beginner need a different gear setup to do the hand kiting.
  13. Boonshare is fine. The problem is "Sic 'Em" and the meme builds that come with it. People will always complain about it. Just rework it, remove the damage buff and balance the damage in PvE and PvP accordingly afterwards.
  14. That's definitely a possibility. There's also been talk about elementalist runes. The biggest thing is giving up that double proc of being able to get 2 different on-swap sigils due to weapon + legend swap. They're the entire reason we don't run malice already. Definitely excited to see where it all ends up. On the elementalist thing I was watching Teapot today and in going over the upcoming changes he seemed to think that it's possible that because of the wording of the new "Yearning Empowerment: This trait has been reworked. It now increases the duration of all damaging conditions by 10%." it might mean that it increases the base duration of conditions rather than increasing the duration on the character panel. If that's true then yeah elementalist runes would probably be ideal.All base condition increases right now are skill specific, like scepter conditions for necro and pistols for ingis. The chance that the revenant trait will increase the base duration instead of the condition duration stat is pretty close to zero.

  16. Whisper Boxing? I think that achievement is part of the story version and not the strike. The strike achievements all award small mastery chests.

It gives you those orbs like aurora. If you got both, the effect improves. The legendary ring on top, and the effect changes again. But definitely downright horrible looking there. I think he knows that. He meant "wow 1.2k gold is a lot for a trinket, its almost the price of crafting an off hand legendary weapon".No it isn't. Unlike a weapon, the legendary trinket can be used in all build.
  18. So you already have 2000 of them? Why not just make Ascended crafting materials and sell those? If i remember correctly the globs can only be used to craft accountbound items. There is nothing to sell with them.
  19. Well, because most of open world and such, you simply don't have to learn to do it or just rely on someone else to do it. You simply don't get penalized for not knowing it, so nobody learns. Or in most cases, use a healer to bypass the mechanics. If they had content that instantly killed you if you couldn't break the bar, then people would learn it pretty fast. There are some story bosses that punish you when you don't break them. And some mobs that go almost invulnerable without breaking their bar.But most of the time nothing meaningful happens. The average difficulty of t4 fractals is now much higher than it was before the release of Chaos. It's just not everyone had noticed, because it is now common to run them in "proper" group compositions, which of course affect the perceived difficulty. The only fractal that really got harder with the rework is swamp. The rest is easier or longer after the rework but not harder.Deepstone was considered easy because it was not average at the time of release. It is significantly easier than something in the middle like Vulcanic or Thaumanova. Instabilities were advertised as something that changes how the fractals play. Very few actually accomplish that goal...
  20. For me, such a midtier content were dungeons and fractals. Before Anet abandoned the former and messed with the latter.And your "easy content" that is above "1 1 1" is the midtier content i am speaking about. Anything you need to spend time to prepare and/or learn before you can be succesful is hardcore tier. That hardcore tier that exists in GW2 may not be hard for you, but it's still hardcore tier when seen as a part of a wider picture. Fractals were harder before the rework with HoT except 99cm and 100cm. Dungeons are actually easy content. T3-4 is midtier.Everything you have to prepare for is hardcore? So dungeons and fractals are also hardcore because you need to form a group for that and thus prepare for it? There is no autojoin outside of strikes. So everything outside of strikes and solo content is hardcore content. I don't need to explain the fault in your definition to you, do I? The problem is that we still don't have proper tutorials for basic mechanics like break bars. 4 years since HoT release and the majority still doesn't know what to do with that suspicious blue bar beneath the health bar.

  23. Yes - they took the evade out of the end of the GS autoattack chain, which messed up a lot of folks who came to depend on it as part of a good melee rotation. Instead of giving an evade frame, the final attack in the chain gives back some endurance. It still takes forever and a day to channel the whole final attack. WAIT WHAT!! Who in the hell in the balancing team thought it was a good idea to remove the evade frame???Devs do me a favor and play ur kitten game, you dont play it therefore you dont understand it. Thats why you dont know how to balance it.The evade frame on 3rd auto skill has been in game SINCE LAUNCH. So you just now remembered to remove it? Did MANY ppl complain about it? I guarantee it may have been 1% who did, others didnt even care about it. Rip our matchup with condi mes now, Ranger basically may not be able to get head to head in 1v1s at a high skill match with most of melee classes, nor it can in team fights. The 3rd auto evade was so unique for ranger it gave us room to get toe to toe with mesmers, weavers, staff thiefs, wars, power fbs, timing enemy burst skills with it. Its why i loved the weapon. Nerfed sicem and lb it was fair, nerfing soulbeasts dmg its still fair, nerfed boonbeast fair aswell, nerfed druid... idk why but ok... not many play it anyways because of you. And now you nerf/remove this? Whats next? Rip Didn't they give us a full block on GS4 to better deal with melee classes? Arheundel, you can say whatever you want, but all changes were a nerf for GS. Yes the block now it is a proper block, better than before, but we lost an evade and 1 damage skill , a range skill.The kick after a successful block is also an evade, people tend to forget about it... We lost an evade on one attack and gained one on another.

And that's not because druid is good, but because core ranger got spirits and spotter, druid only adds some heals and might to it (which other classes can do). If you're gonna talk about how good druid is for raiding, you should know why that is - but you clearly don't. If warrior ever got a heal spec, it would take the druid's role in a second. It's only missing the heals, and a soulbeast or any other ranger spec can grab the missing frost spirit. not really .... frac meta too and pretty good in roaming and warrior got healing now, but its a bad choice to make the bannerslave a healer since it deals tons of damage to the buffs it givesDid you play any fractal in the last half year? Druid is out of the meta. Firebrigade replaced druid/chrono. Soulbeast takes frost spirit.No druid is not pretty good in roaming. The only thing it can actually do is annoy people and bore them to death. It is miles behind core ranger and soulbeast. The only reason druids still exists in raids is because the group damage is really low. Increase it and druid dies. The healing is awful. The spec is just a might and spirit bot right now. They should ditch the current grand masters and add a customisation like the dodge traits for daredevil. Offensive support, defensive support, some kind of damage thingy for solo play.
