Please fix the pegasus, he looks sad.

This is the kind of mount skin I've wanted for a while. But there's just something off about the whole thing... Can't win'em all. -
Illuminated Boreal Weapons: WTH FOR REAL?!?!
Memoranda.9386 replied to Milea.6043's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Everyone I knew made fun of me for keeping them. Glad to know my gambit paid off, but definitely feel bad for those that already salvaged the weapons. -
Can confirm that -mapLoadinfo also corrected the long load times for me. Most maps were loading above 25 seconds, perhaps more. Now around 10 or less, depending. 13 seconds in the middle of the festival.

Same issue currently. Got a new PC set up, and when patching after first install the installer hangs up at 35%, well past "playable", but the client will crash if you attempt to launch the game. Done all the troubleshooting as recommended. Probably just going to move the game file from my old PC to the new one at this point. The launcher is definitely having some issues.

https://immortius.net.au/wardrobe-unlock-analyser/ is nicer for that but simply clearing off all the cheap stuff can get very expensive. For example on my other account if I want the GWU to give unlocks that are worth at least 10g it will cost 1722g using buy orders to clear off all the cheaper stuff. Definitely. Not saying that it's easy or cheap, and it's up to each to decide what "value" they want to place on the Unlock. I don't really care too much, so they typically get used right as I get them. The only real chore I did was buying all non-exclusive dyes. That was done more out of QOL for myself than thinking about the unlocks, though.

I believe you can link an API key to GW2Efficiency to see a list of cheap/easy unlockables to get to get the maximum value out of Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlocks. I've gotten some awesome stuff (outfits, gliders, expensive dyes, etc) and also gotten, like, Bronze Spears. Hahah. Pays to do a bit of prep work.

Salvaging unid'ed Greens and ectos
Memoranda.9386 replied to Firebeard.1746's topic in Players Helping Players
I'm assuming you don't identify the gear before salvaging? If that is the case, then the gear is treated as strictly "green" or "yellow", thus at no point do you "roll" for a higher tier. Green -> no EctoYellow -> no dark matter. You have to identify the gear beforehand if you want the chance at better mats. -
How do you all feel about Strike Missions?
Memoranda.9386 replied to Knighthonor.4061's topic in Instanced Group Content
Let's use the word "curious" or "different" instead. Not interesting in the more, uh, traditional sense, I guess? Yeah it's a "joke" because it wasn't meant to be hard, which is the point I was illustrating. It's more akin to open world PvE, but you can hate on it all you want; this was clearly noted as being the first, and therefore easiest, Strike, and everyone seemed to be expecting, once more, things that were not even hinted at. My understanding is that this Strike was meant to get players accustomed to the feel, and many players will likely struggle with even this "easy" for experienced players' content. Since you and I Raid or T4 Frac/CM, this wasn't aimed at us. But it serves literally no purpose if people can ignore every mechanic at all on the first encounter. This won't help nobody. Seriously, there are open world bosses that are more dangerous and in the game for years. Even the first dungeons like AC and TA are much more of a stepping stones to at least fractals than this weak noodle.Even at World Bosses I see players downed all the time because they don't react to AoE, don't understand the tells or similar, or are don't know how about positioning. The big AoEs in this Strike won't down you outright, but if you stand still, you will die. Most World Bosses let you spam auto 1 and AFK. Obviously, there are exceptions. But once again, this was designed primarily as a way to get players accustomed to the "feel" of a Strike and how it works. -

I'm certainly interested in them. This one seemed easier than T4 Fractals/CMs, which I believe was the point. We 4-manned it as a PUG and nearly cleared the times achievement. The mechanics were interesting, but nothing more challenging than T4 Fractals. I think for the first one, the difficulty is in a good spot, and if the mechanics of each fight scale up slowly, it will be good for the overall player-base, and hopefully raise the bottom, common PvE-exclusive player DPS. -
Bound By Blood has the best story line.

I was just thinking where she got all the loot to make the illusions drop... This makes much more sense. Kas > PC -
ANet is in a tough spot, because players always complain about maps being "dead" a few weeks after release, and setting up the meta reward structure this way does help prolong the "life" of the map. It's just a tool they're using. If rewards/meta were too easy, there would be a hundred threads of how pointless it all is.

Slightly OT, but shouldn't they be then telling you to go to bed? Hahah. Unless you live further west than the ... West coast, anyways.

Gem prices are at an all time high.
Memoranda.9386 replied to EremiteAngel.9765's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
even without the sale the gemprice is stupid high, which is made worse by the fact a lot of materials are worth nothing compared to the old days. Immediately before the Anniversary Sale, Gem conversion was the lowest I'd seen it in over a year, at about 120g for 400gems. -

Players complain when features are kept for a big release, such as a LW episode. Players complain when features are deployed upon completion, because it should be kept until a LW episode to make it seem "meatier". Some of these players are in both camps. You can't have it both ways. -

You got to play the expansion since you bought it up to now when they couldn't. This kind of promotion is nothing new. The expansions have gone on sale numerous times. Should those that bought them when they came out at full price feel entitled to receive compensation? @Ayrilana.1396 said: You got to play the expansion since you bought it up to now when they couldn't. This kind of promotion is nothing new. The expansions have gone on sale numerous times. Should those that bought them when they came out at full price feel entitled to receive compensation? On sale is one thing .. free is another. Lets keep it real here. It is being kept real. What about the Halo franchise? Each game cost $60+ new. After several years, you can buy the complete set for $60. Or the trilogy for $20 in the Platinum collections or whatever it was. Should I get all my money back, or make people pay full, brand new retail for a 4+ year old set of games? Your expectations are way off base. Player retention is much, much more important in an MMO than simple box sales, and this is a fantastic way to lure in new players with a deluge of content, and keep them engaged. Everyone can't cry about how the game is dying, then turn around and slap ANet for trying to bring in new players, and keep those players. -

My fractal group had a tough time with it today for some reason. Right after the change, we breezed through it with no problem. I'm sure it doesn't help that no one seems to have a build set up for underwater combat; I had triple the DPS of the second highest person. Not necessarily bad changes, but the final boss is fairly punishing now, especially with the phase Condi Spam. Group couldn't cleanse fast enough.

I remember a time not so long ago when it seems the community was decrying the lack of any events to do between updates of the Living World. Oh how times have changed.
