  1. or maybe you should just bring a group build for group content. I realize it doesnt carry nearly the same value in empty rhetoric... but it works I promise.
  2. This is decent open world build (minus the choice of the earth Grandmaster and heal but that's a personal preference) This is also an objectively poor build for group play. It is neither solid DPS (as witnessed by your numbers under completely optimal conditions), nor is it truly effective support (as witnessed by your rune/sigil choices). So.... Weak DPS and Weak support, highlighted only by the fact you can flip between both, but at all times operating as half whatever role expected of you. Your build would have counted for top DPS back before we had a tool to actually measure Damage numbers and had no real data? Grats. Do you need "Top DPS" for dungeons? Of course not. Do you need Arc for Dungeons? Or course not. Do you need Arc to see exactly how much you are contributing and how much you are doing in relation to other players? Yes Considering your gear and build it is entirely possible that those people you are proud of "picking up" are likely outdamaging you (possibly by a factor of several times)... despite going down. Without Arc, you just don't know and are likely living in a bubble that is reinforced by confirmation bias. The reality is you showed up on a build that under completely optimal circumstances has a theoretical limit that is less than half that of a proper damage setup... and your support potential is even worse. Your boon duration is crap and your healing output is held back by the gear and trait choices. You brought a knife to a gunfight. Compounded by the facts that you: -had never done the content (as evidenced by your lack of the title) -did not ask for any directions ("No party chat was ever given beyond the meta event.") -Were acting as if it were "your party" long after the kick (as evidenced by your posts) despite offering zero guidance/mentorship -Believe that a 2012 build and gear setup is relevant today and I can certainly see a combination of reasons that would absolutely lead to a kick. Because from a casual observer's viewpoint showing up for group content in a bad gear and build setup, for content you have never done without speaking up about being new smacks of demanding a carry. Are you 100% sure you weren't?
  3. "People like you".... Please.... go on.... Let's see what you think you know.
  4. This forum is replete with posts like yours that blame an unfriendly community for poor experiences in group content. The vast majority of these posts are chock full of clues as to why the problem actually occurred rather than a whitewashed narrative. While I am not saying this is the case with your post, a few things do stand out to me like the above quote. Are you running Arc? Were you looking at your DPS in relation to the others on the team? Did you have your boon table up to measure uptime on the boons you were/are providing? Celestial Tempest is an objectively poor build to play for group content. It is an open World/Solo build. It does not provide competitive damage in a group setting, and it's boon output is substandard for a 5 man team where something like Harriers is a much stronger choice. AP and Mastery have zero to do with your build's performance in group settings. I know plenty of people who have max masteries and can't dodge. I know people who grind every festival for their AP and half of their totals are just from dailies. The fact you flexed them is very telling. Maybe I am wrong, maybe you are some kind of prodigy who plays the living hell out of Cele Tempest and has found ways to make it relevant in group play. If you are actually interested in examining your performance, rather than (as is the case in so many posts like these) looking for confirmation from people who don't know: Post a video of yourself in group play with Arc running and the boon table active. Post your actual build and gear rather than your AP and Mastery Level.
  5. Christmas itself is a "perversion" by your own definition Originally the celebration was a pagan sun worshipping ritual that the Roman Emperor Constantine co-opted. Most biblical historians agree that the Birthday in question was actually in March, but that Constantine changed the date after his conversion to Christianity in order to sell the celebration better to the Roman people and changed the meaning of the festival to better align with the new religion.. I guess it's important to pick and chose what we get miffed by when we are virtue signalling. But it's ok, most "American kids" think Constantine was an Alan Moore invention anyways.
  6. These attempts at semantics do not change reality. ....but if you keep editing your post, I am certain that eventually you will manage a factually correct sentence on the topic. Keep trying, I believe in you.
  7. This is an Urban Legend. Santa Claus was not invented by the Coca Cola company. L. Frank Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, a children's book, was published in 1902. It predates the Coca Cola company's marketing use of the character by almost 30 years. Coca Cola wasn't even the first soft drink company to use the character in advertising. White Rock Beverages predated Coca-Cola's usage of Santa (in red and white) in advertisements for soft drinks. In 1923, the company used Santa to advertise its ginger ale after first using him to sell mineral water in 1915. The Coca Cola company's first add using the character does not appear until the 1930s.
  8. If you are looking for immersion, you are playing the wrong MMO
  9. sees an irresponsible post based on drama mongering and dissat over not getting good enough RNG loot adds to it in order to keep it going multiple times Never Change GW2 Forums, never change.
  10. Current Assigned Team: Who cares?... you certainly don't Original Home: JQ: Today you look a long time customer, and passionate fan of this game and seperated him from his friends and left him unable to play the game mode with them on a friday night. Words cannot express how upset I am right now. You have really hurt my interest in the game.
  11. Do you honestly feel that "good vibes" are most important than an honest appraisal of the state of the game?
  12. Posts like this are a great way to farm hearts and cups. But really.... The last map added to this game was.... North Drizzlewood? July 28th 2020. Since then we got the very poorly received Champions content....and then? "Return to" achievements? This is literally old content. And we're looking still at no content until next February. This is a VERY significant content drought. Easily the worst since I personally started playing the game a little over 5 years ago. Let's contrast this with the launch of Path of Fire, which followed Season 3.6 on time, then immediately went into season 4. All of this was some of the best received content Anet has ever delivered and was done without missing a beat. That was the game "in a good place". Realistically? 10 month content drought A batch of elite specs who's reception can best be described as "lukewarm". A playerbase that collectively babyraged over the story execution of the last playable new content we received Yet another bunch of lip service over WvW only to have the beta of a years long awaited feature to be called off over bugs mere hours after being switched on. Multiple assurances of increased balance for competitive modes that quite simple have not happened. An sPvP scene that was absolutely ruined by negelct and a small number of players violating ToS. This game is objectively speaking, in the worst place I have seen it. I love this game. It's easily my favorite MMO ever. Every day I work on creating content for it and evangelizing it to people on youtube. But it's in a really bad place and trying to spin it otherwise doesn't do anyone any service, least of all the developers you are trying to impress with your post.
  13. The fact multipage discussions spawn over something as simple and ubiquitous as an emoji system should prove as sufficient evidence that this forum is not being run well. Years of kowtowing to the extreme self martyring of a vocal minority in this community getting dramatically upset about something as simple thumbs downs or confused emojis has created this issue. It's enabled a culture where a small number of vocal participants feel it is more effective to "run to mom and dad" looking for system changes rather than accept that their posts, opinions or fluff are not as popular as they think they are.
  14. 1, Just yesterday you said /wiki should be outlawed. 2. /wiki has nothing to do with discord 3. You are attempting to throw shade on someone who doesn't raid as being a seller. Tell us again... how much value do your posts have?
  15. I have a hard time taking someone who says use of /wiki should be outlawed seriously. Your opinion has zero value.
  16. There's an ingame command that links to an external website. Should we outlaw use of /wiki?
  17. Often when this issue comes up I ask the following question and always the armchair designers and forum business analysts ignore it... but lets take a shot. GW2 efficiency shows that the majority of the active playtime across all accounts takes place on human characters. The remaining 4 races account for less than half the playtime total in the game. No alternative race accounts for more than 16% of active playtime. A Guild Wars 2 developer is on record saying he was in fact a little disappointed at the uptake of the players on the alternative races. Given these facts, why does it make financial sense for Arenanet to invest the resources needed to overcome the non-trivial amount of issues that block the addition of a new race in Guild Wars 2? Do you have any data to back up your revenue model of 800 Gems for a Race Transfer and the profit it would generate? Have you crunched the actual numbers to see if a feature that appeals to 16% of the active Playerbase's ongoing development costs including new cosmetics, voice acting and QA will be offset? "Hype" is not quantifiable. You have zero projections about how much revenue your ideas would .make. You are willfully ignoring facts and data. You don't have the data to tell if your plan would make money. Know who has that kind of data? Arenanet...And despite the community ask they are not doing it. Doesn't that tell you something?
  18. While I am in full support of DPS meters and would absolutely prefer an ingame solution as well, your hyperbolic claims do nothing to strengthen the argument and actually detract from it. This idea that it crashes the game constantly and causes you to lose pvp matches are the kind of false rhetoric that are counterproductive to having an actual conversation on the matter. Proper numbers, outbound healing, reliable boon uptime measurements are relevant reasons to request an ingame solution. Not trusting a third party developer, or pointing to the fact that stats are available after every pvp match are also relevant reasons. Pointing to the inconsistency of Condition Damage calculations that often plague Arc updates is a relevant reason. You don't need to use false rhetoric and baseless hyperbole to advocate for this. There are plenty of excellent real reasons to do so,
  19. If the Devs have already green-lit this activity, what is the point of this thread other than some kind of ridiculous nerd virtue signalling?
  20. TLDR:Nerf what I don't like, Buff what I do like, everything else can stay the same.
