I have gotten to this point as well. Broken lockpicks, unidentified common gear, and the like -- boring, repetitive, and anything but rewarding.

Well if they used a currency we always had like karma old timers would buy up anything they wanted from day one on every release. That's not what I meant. I just think having a different currency for each LW map is too much.

I'm not quitting, but I'm taking a break. Part of it is because of summer and all the busy-ness that goes with it, but a large part of it is because the Skyscale acquisition made me angry and made me feel burned out (I do love the Skyscale but the map currencies part made me never want to see LW4 maps ever again). I'm also feeling that loot/rewards/stuff is not very rewarding; I truly think that if I see one more piece of crappy "unidentified gear" I'll scream.

One thing that I wish they'd work on re: Living World episodes, maps, etc. is the ridiculous number of different currencies. There are too many and they're too confusing. Let's see, I need a bunch of Volatile Magic... no, wait, I mean Unbound Magic.... wait, what's the difference?

Although I loathed the Skyscale acquisition process and it soured me on LW4 maps (I never want to see them again), the Skyscale is now my favorite mount. It's like the best of the Griffon and the Springer put together.

You and I might be secret twins (I'm an old lady too) -- Elementalist was my favorite in GW1 as well, so that was the first character I made in GW2. After playing it a while, though, I deleted it, and went to a Necro for my main with a Ranger as my second-most favorite character. Necro with minions is my favorite solo play style. I'd recommend reading up on crafting too, and see if it's something you like. I love it. Leveling up and crafting ascended gear takes time but it's one of my favorite in-game activities.

I don't think most people found it "hard." I certainly didn't. I found it a boring grind, especially the map currencies... to the point that I never want to visit the LW4 maps again. I do love having the Skyscale and was obviously willing (reluctantly) to work for it, but I did NOT enjoy the process.

At first I was disappointed in the Skyscale skin pack too, only wanted two of them. Then I went to Lion's Arch to hang out and see others' new looks. One person in particular -- big thank you shout-out to "Hairflip Ragequit" (also BEST name I've seen in ages!) -- politely modeled the new skins and various dyes for me, and sold me on the pack. Others were also showing wonderful dye combos. Honestly, ANet, you are not doing yourself any favors by showing the new skins in the dullest, ugliest dyes imaginable. I realize not everyone has tons of rare dyes, but you could make better default looks from just the starting dye pool. I really only like two of them (like in the Warclaw pack, which I didn't buy) so would like them available separately too. Sadly, that won't happen.

Just what the screen needs, more clutter. At some boss fights now, I can't even see what I'm fighting.

^^^ This. I get skins, outfits, and so on because I like looking at them on my characters. I don't care what others have and wear, nor does my enjoyment of the game wax and wane based on what others do with their characters.

So in all likelihood, check back in December, and in the meantime, save up 60 BL lion coins :) This is not what the OP is talking about, which is the new Dragon Fireworks Backpiece and Glider set, available from BLCs starting yesterday. The backpiece is IMO kinda ugly; it looks like a jointed dragon kite and the wings are indeed rather small.

I had a run of bad luck a few months ago, but today I had quite good luck. Three of ten chests gave me an uncommon or rare. It really is RNG.

I don't know, but I only had 250 taffy in the bank and 160-ish in my inventory. I'll never get Jorbreakers this way! lol

Can you only smash/open a certain number per day? I'm no longer getting any zhaitaffy from them. Thanks in advance.
