  1. "The only thing McDonald's is good at is serving fast food!"
  2. Sadly, short-term profit trumps long-term gains in the financial playbook.
  3. I WANT the Steam release to be a huge success for ANet, but let’s face it: game is ancient. They will have many new players, and I hope those players stay, because at its heart it is a lovingly made, good game. If they don’t stay, well… better to keep away from the masses.
  4. ANet probably didn’t anticipate the mega-hype regarding The 10th and, not having prepared anything special beforehand, will provide a lengthy blog/news post on the history of the game, how they never expected it to be so successful, and now here’s some rewards (which will be totally unspecial, because they didn’t anticipate The 10th’s hype, or because they’re always cheapo with rewards). What do you think we’ll get on The 10th?
  5. Rather have release on consoles than a new launcher.
  6. The best players are whales. This is true in every game. We are slowly getting exposed to p2w elements. Look how many people played Lost Ark.
  7. They’re hard on the eyes for people like me. It’s like blasting harsh vocals and expecting a pop princess to be able to tune it out.
  8. The main selling point of gw2 was that it’s sub-free. You think people are playing with good PCs?
  9. This would be a great overhaul of the base game in time for Steam release.
  10. No, the game was already easy. We went from one-shotting everything to one-shotting everything. Also, new bosses are damage sponges since IbS and ANet just made World Bosses get more HP as well.
  11. I've seen at least one poster repeatedly appeal to authority, claiming that ANet has access to data that we don't and therefore knows better than us how to improve the game's longevity. Firstly, does ANet really know what they're doing? Their newest skins are covered up, uncomfortable-looking outfits released during the middle of summer. The Festival of Four Winds should be a summer-themed festival (if it isn't already - haven't done it) and they should release the appropriate season's skins. By releasing seasonal skins, it ensures people will buy new skins to replace the previous season's. This will increase money for ANet, so why aren't they doing this basic of all tactics, seen even on the simplest of mobile games? Secondly, does ANet even have access to data we don't? We all want to support the game with our gem purchases, but how much does ANet's developers and designers gain from those profits? It's a symptom of capitalism for a company's profits to improve by 300%, only for 3% of it to go to most of its employees, who are none the wiser. What do you think?
  12. ANet used to give useful freebies. Now we have to grind for things that are “practically” free.
  13. What in the blue hell are watchknights? You want support? Show us what you're talking about.
  14. Obviously you get what you pay for so sacrifices have to be made to keep this game “free” for a majority of players. I’ve played the 2 juggernaut sub games and an optional-sub mmo. I’ve played GW2 since Beta. What I’ve learned is that sub affords true endgame raiding and dungeon content with hard trinity—the true AAA MMORPG experience. Less obvious advantages to the sub are free armor appearance changes and new races/mounts with each expansion. Just what are we gaining/losing to keep this game sub-free? Is it worth it?
  15. Everyone’s thinking of A Realm Reborn, but what about Phantasy Star 2: New Genesis? Maybe it will be a Guild Wars 2 “New Genesis” where your skins from GW2 transfer over?
  16. Lol DRMs are boring Reused Asset Wars, we get 1 new fractal a year, dungeons are discontinued, raids are discontinued, strikes last 5 min.
  17. Unless you’re a sucker fangirl who blindly does what whatever ANet tells you. For example, LS episodes last an hour each but can last much longer if you do the achieves. Problem is, achieves are unfun chores where effort put in is not worth the reward (achievement points). You could literally make your own list of to-dos on a notebook and get the same sense of satisfaction that you get from achieves. Yet people do the ANet ones because… they’re there, “it’s fun,” etc. Don’t be a sucker.
  18. Something new would be better than more rehashed events.
  19. Everything in the gem store post-PoF is overpriced.
  20. Probably psychological reasons that I'm not aware of.
