  1. Sanctuary runes are a bit unique since they give you barrier, which in turn gives you alacrity. You can have permanent alacrity in combat that way. Give the Koda dungeon a try. I was convinced I wouldn't be able to get the runes either, but I found a group on lfg, and there were two other people in it trying to farm the runes for their mechanists. I believe doing a full clear (3 paths) two days is enough to get the runes even if you have no prior currency. You can also wait for Super Adventure Box coming in a couple weeks, since to can get the Tyrian voucher to exchange for dungeon currency. Now if you need a replacement, I would probably go with Runes of the traveler. You don't need the movement speed, but everything else is great for the build, and you can cap the duration of bleeding and burning.
  2. My point is that its hardly exclusive to engi. A lot of classes can have 25 might by themselves. If anything, engi needs to use flamethrower, other classes don't need to limit themselves.
  3. Renegade can have perma 25 might without any boon duration. Hizen soloed the dragonstorm meta on a condi renegade. Yes, that was with pre-nerf Tormenting runes, but renegade still has tons of healing.
  4. You are comparing the elite spec's entire sale point to a single necro summon. Take multiple minions and the death magic traitline, then you can see how minionmancer works. You also have scourge that can give barrier to its minions. Also the point is not whether the pet itself can kill something, but whether it can handle the aggro so you can kill it together, so your "test" is kind of irrelevant to begin with.
  5. All legendaries had timegates like these. Mystic coins, charged quartz crystals, the ascended mats (elonian leather, bolts of damask, etc). And that's just the weapons, legendary armour is a whole different beast.
  6. Minor nitpick. You indeed take 25% less damage when not unleashed, and normal damage when unleashed. So comparatively, you are taking 33.3% more damage when unleashed.
  7. I haven't read every page yet, but I want to address OP's points. Pets have always done that. Minionmancer necro for comparison. Why is having another good support a bad thing? If anything, the fact that druid and FB have been so dominant in the meta is what's bad for the health of the game. Also, mechanist doesn't do something scrapper didn't already do. It swaps superspeed for more barrier and quickness for alacrity. It's a dps build, not an alacrity build, so I don't see what's the issue here. It's one of the highest, but not the highest. It also uses 3 kits to achieve that, so I don't think you can complain about low skill floor in this case. [XVII] Dhuum Challenge | ONLY Auto Attacks and Dodge - YouTube
  8. Now that most, if not all skills, are capped at 5 targets, it'd be helpful to know. Like, in a strike mission, when you use an AoE heal, do members of your subgroup always take up one of the 5 spots even if they are full health, or will the heal skill try to heal some members of the other subgroup?
  9. Only shoulders/gloves/helms could realisitically get that change, and I really hope that's something they'd implement, at least for pieces that are not part of full armour set, but it's probably too much work to retroactively enable all those skins.
  10. Now I feel like an idiot and wish I had taken a screenshot. As soon as I changed maps it went back to normal. Note that I summoned and unsummoned the skiff multiple times, and it didn't make a difference, only map change did. Odd bug.
  11. Or am I imagining things? Skiffs had turquoise side panels on the sides, with wavey patterns, that you couldn't colour. Now they are all brown wood with no pattern.
  12. Icebrood saga added the beautiful shoulder cannon animation and model for the dwarf cannons (and layer charzookas), can we please have that for mortar kit? It's an elite skill, yet it has us whip out some ilvl 20 default rifle model. It's already in game, now I'm hardly an expert, but it shouldn't be too much work to implement. All skills use the same animation, too.
  13. Speed of Synergy is aggravating too, especially with Medic Gyro when you have two different area rings. They should make Gyroscopic Acceleration increase the radius to 360, like it does with Gyros.
  14. Soul barbs is just 10%, staying in shroud is a bigger damage increase. In any case, you will drop out a couple seconds later anyway, once you run out of life force.
  15. If you want to spend as little as possible, you can get some bladed armour from VB (or open any leftover chests you have), which is fully stat-selectable. Alternatively, you can get exotic dire armour from tp for like 3-4g total and throw some trailblazer / viper / celestial trinkets. Celestial us nice in the sense that it does a bit of everything, and can be used in wvw if you are into that, but the power stats are not super useful for harbinger. Harb has good burst capabilities as condi already with shroud 2 and pistol 2, and better dps. If you are going celestial, its mostly for the heal power and concentration, though even that is not necessary solo, since you can get 25 might and perma quickness in shroud without any investment. Personally I was planning to go celestial, too, but I just made the viper+ritualist build that is used for the quickness support build, and just pick parasitic contagion when I need sustain (the scepter trait is not that good when you camp shroud all the time).
  16. It's 3s every 3s without any boon duration.
  17. Follow-up, strawberry ghosts work and are dirt cheap.
  18. You use the research salvage kit to salvage any craftable item. It doesn't have have to be something you crafted yourself, just an item that has a corresponding recipe. You can buy stuff on tp, too. Personally, I had a bunch of christmas and halloween food lying around, and I salvaged those.
  19. The rune skill is a a rain of mortal shells, not an engi bomb.
  20. It doesn't end, it transfers from the pet to the ranger. The narration makes it very clear too ("the power of nature flows back and forth between the untamed and their animal companion"). So it's a buff you can swap between yourself and your pet. Now whether it's a hot potato you need to often juggle between the two of you, or strictly a choice of who can get the most benefit out of it remains to be seen.
  21. It seems that it will be a quickness sharing spec. On one hand, quickness and barrier would make it a very good support for raids and fractals, on the other hand, I hope there's something more interesting there, instead of shuffling the same 2-3 support related boons/buffs around.
  22. But that's literally all mirage and alacrigade do, play dps and generate boons at the same time. Mirage doesn't even have to do anything different to a dps build, and alacrigade has to press one whole new button. Only healer builds really don't do dps rotations.
  23. Since when was the Tyrian hero a paragon/monk?
  24. Aren't all boon supports dps builds that splash boons on the side?
