I think MoP should get reworked into a boon removal. Like, 5s mantra CD, 15s ammo-reload CD, remove 2 boons (prioritizes cheap boons like aegis, regeneration, swiftness first) or something.
Guardian is fine on its own, but it has no roles in conquest right now (renegade > symbolbrand, holosmith > DH). Your best bet is still symbolbrand, burn guardian, bunker DH (that exists, yes) or power DH.
Replace holosmith with mirage and scrapper with chronomancer, exact same situation.Engineer and Mesmer is same in a way that core always gets the short end of the stick.
Well this is even more true for thief players, most of them play what Sindrener plays. (There is only a few mesmer streamer btw, and nobody plays Vallun's mesmer build)

Nobody expected condi thief so nobody specced into cleansing.I'm sad I can't play because of ping issues because the mesmer build I use would be very strong vs "condi thief-renegade meta" up to P2 I think. Tested prepatch: they got nerfed, I didn't.
GW2 PvP is full of invisible synergies and hard-to-guess mechanics (such as "about face -> leap backwards -> about face", no port spots and animation cancelling). You know, Age of Empires 2 is also full of invisible stuff (it says pikes do more damage to cavalry but it doesn't say how much extra damage it does so you can't know unless you try).
Comparing all 3 high level meta roamers, it seems like herald specs the most non-damage traitlines while mirage and daredevil specs mostly damage. We both know who is the best roamer (cough herald cough). But it isn't thief who specs the most damaging traitlines, it's equal with mirage:
