Changed over to windowed fullscreen once the game was running, so we'll see if it sticks... I don't know that it would help to make sure you have all updates installed but I always check for updates for windows and my antivirus stuff before I log into game and I can login to game fine tonight. Was online with a friend and all she got was the character screen music with the Windows wallpaper. I logged out for a few hours and now all I can get is the music and windows wallpaper.
