Without a dedicated WvW guild carrying you it's almost impossible to get a warclaw nowadays. You are slow, flimsy (no 2nd healthbar), and easily picked off. Without a warclaw you are a LIABILITY to your team.

If people already have a warclaw, I dunno give them a skin or something so they won't whine about how they had to do it the hard way... ...when it wasn't so hard. (in the same was people complain about forgiving tuition.)

Hell put it in the the gem store for all I care, you like money right? Take my money.

Umm I got my warclaw through solo roaming long before I joined a wvw guild😅

So I don't know what you are talking about...

Exactly, everyone in WvW knows that your team Ranger goes "PEW! PEW!" while you go "OW! OW!" 😁

True. Kinda.

A good ranger can actually be very useful. Even in zerg fights.

But good freaking luck finding a skilled ranger.

NA Tarnished Coast

Mate you come across as a person who camps EBG and expects those keeps to flip.

There are many Hills, Bays, Fire and Air Keeps that flip every so often.

There are many ppl and commanders that will help you if you ask.

This thread is pointless.

It's not impossible to get, and it wasn't hard to get. I got in on my 2nd account just a few months ago.
The best way to do it is to find a commander and follow him/her.

If your primary problem is dying often, tank up.  Go trailblazer.  Be the meme.  Get hits and tags in.  You’ll stay alive longer.

but, I figure you’ve ranted and now you’ve moved on because you got it and realized it really wasn’t as hard as you made it out to be.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I'm a returning player (came back to 8 birthday gifts) and have just earned my warclaw having been playing again for 1-2 weeks. I'd been doing a very small amount of WvW per day for maybe a week and only gotten halfway through the track, but then today took it more seriously, played for 3 hours and finished it. Just keep participation high, take a booster if ou have one, and roll with whatever is out there. If you have a tag up then follow it, if not then roam a bit, kill a guard at every keep you pass, take camps here and there, fight players where you see them.

It did start out seeming quite hard, but having actually knuckled down today, I'm almost halfway through another track. If, as above, it's the keep that's an issue, then I guess maybe I just got lucky? I have no guild, just hung around doing stuff on the map until I sa a keep being attacked and went for it. Obviously your experience could be different, but surely they change hands sometimes right?

Someone whining about Warclaw again...  just buff urself for speed find a tag and follow.  At least there is Warclaws Blessing now... not like the olden days.

Warclaw track is nothing compared to this:

From Wiki:

At least one character will need to have completed Episode 6 War Eternal chapter 5: Descent to be able to start this collection.

Access to the zones Domain of Istan, Sandswept Isles, Domain of Kourna, Jahai Bluffs, Thunderhead Peaks and Dragonfall are required.

You will need each of the following for the second to last step of the collection. It is recommended to start gathering these early or while the effect Waiting for Gorrik is ticking down. See below for tips and methods.

12   Piece of Skyscale Food (1 Charged Quartz Crystal per piece) — may be crafted in the Mystic Forge (see here for crafting cost) or purchased from the trading post for 3  60  52  per piece

Find a tag, follow it on a mildy runny (DH, Willbender, Ranger, Ele, etc) that can make up for WC leaps, and you'll get the speedboost from running near a warclaw. Fight and Ktrain with that group and you're set. Join the group's comms if you're left a little behind, tell them you're working on warclaw, most people will even wait for you or come back for you if you're in trouble, especially if you're an asset to the team or their comms (good scout, good stripper, good CC's, etc.). Use boosters intelligently to make reward tracks go faster.

Several people have come into our comms and done this and they get their Warclaw within a week. Some even have a good time and join the guild.

If your problem getting the Warclaw is that you hate WvW and you're just getting it to get it... I can only recommend you don't put yourself through it. You don't need it, there's better PVE mounts in every sense of the word. If you want to get it to play WvW then find a group you enjoy or at least tolerate and get playing. You'll have it before you know it and you might even make some friends.

Just the other day a guy was asking in Map Chat if he could get some help on his. He needed a keep. We were tagging down but our com decided to help this person out. Ask and ye might receive. Just try to figure out what time you have a commander on the map and run with them. I came to WvW for Gift Of battle and Warclaw. And have stayed ever since.

This. There are people who are willing to help. One of the open tags I've been running with a lot during the current server link up frequently checks on their zerg's tail and if there are people who  have trouble keeping up, the tag will dismount and run on foot. Another open tag will stop to let the tail catch up, if they see people stretching way behind. Not everyone is like that of course but there are commanders out there who are willing to help people. Sadly, the particular tags I'm referring to are not on Tarnished Coast or Northern Shiverpeaks, so I can't point you toward these specific two.

I was with Al that day.  We had a great time with it and cheered him on when he got the last keep.  Was quite fun actually.

Of course, if you listen to most PvE players who like to besmirch the mode, we would have dragged him into the lords room, gotten the lord to 10% them let him die to it and left without capping.

There is no time limit. The skyscale will stay in the area on the map around the words "Old Command Post". It will make a sound periodically to help you locate it. On harder difficulties it can hide on upper ledges, which may occasionally require jumping, gliding or the springer to reach. Calling target on the skyscale or turning on the "Show all NPC names" option makes this trivial.

After completing this collection you will gain  Waiting for Gorrik which will count down until Gorrik sends you the next mail.

Wonder how many people that complain about obtaining warclaw and gift of battle bother taking time to learn a little bit about wvw to get them easier, cause I bet they do for the skyscale.

The only hard part about warclaw achievements is capture a keep and that's not particularly hard if you bothered to watch the map. Borderland keeps flip often enough, especially desert ones, your home map with enemy keeps is sure to flip at some point, watch where your zerg is, or kill a guard and park yourself on the map until your side comes back to cap it.

But no, lets just outright it sell straight from a vendor because can't be bothered to actually play the game for it.

Take my money.

its not about "a guild" - u just need a group that takes fights. u need kills going, yeah okay.

on my NA alt it took barely 3 days for the warkitty

just equip there movement skills to keep up with any bigger group u can find, make your build tanky and tag things 😛  should really work on most servers, but requires a certain insight truly about "how to largescale 101"

the 2nd healtbar of it is barely worth, u usually dont wanna risk the kittystun after forceful dismount...

its only useful for staying on walls safely and sniff-detector really. the speed itself is more a general problem and should have never been brought into Wvw but ye

if the server populations wouldn't be highly scuffed it would be really easy for everyone to get a warclaw

but alone the QOL updates that the Wvw system would direly need, seem to be slacking - like: #1 place starts matchup with RBL as it is worst one for the host, #3 (so tier-riser) gets an alpine bc far easier to hold due to its better design

and the linking and  numbers, lets not even start on that.

I hear your complaint but it sounds like you're either on a dead server or you play only during off-hours. My experience is not going to be everyone's, but fyi I just made an EU alt account roughly 2 weeks ago and it took me about a week of casual zerging for like an hour a day to get my warclaw. It was not even mildly difficult to obtain.

I used the full cele set of gear given to me upon buying hot+pof bundle with a staff core ele. Barely even had to try.

Maybe I'm just ig'nant but it seems like people create their own problems >__>

Edit because I finished reading OP's post and now I'm even more irritated by it - dude of course you'll be a liability if you play a slow Necro or something of that sort. Make an educated decision to play something that will assist you in your goal of getting a warclaw... In my case I chose a staff core ele with plenty of mobility and even the option of super speed, all the while giving small heals and decent damage to the squads I was around --- using the default gear and no elite specs. Come on man. This is a personal problem. It's a casual game but it's not going to hold your hand.

What is hard about getting a Warclaw? I recently returned from the game and played WvW most of the time, Its my second day playing WvW and I almost get it, probably tomorrow I'll be riding it.

Also remember I said I recently returned? Yeah, no guild to help me haha my old guild is empty, I've been doing solo roaming with a Vanilla build, Its crazy how much stronger the specializations are, I really dont stand a chance haha but I am getting there.

Keep it up and you will get your Warclaw, At least you have practice on the game, I have to learn everything from the begining haha

No. There's a like a few encyclopedias worth of QQ on that lol with 0 intention of learning anything. Just take a peek in general discussion or that link above in that very thread. (Don't). I've even seen complaints about those birthday gifts we actually get for free.

I'm always in favor of making things less tedious, but the problem is that they will never be happy, even if it took 3 minutes of effort.

I don't care about player skill very much, as long as they're willing to try. But it's the worst kind of attitude-- "if I can't do something, everyone that can must have gamed the system or gotten carried, because it's never my fault".  Yea, I'm 100% in favor of gatekeeping that crap out of here.

On Wednesday I started running a new toon in WvW on my alt account. That account was starting from Level 1 in WvW. In the early evening I ran for two hours with an open tag zerg. By the end of that time I had everything I needed for my warclaw except the body armor which needs 50 skirmish tickets and the helmet, which requires finishing the warclaw reward track. On Thursday morning, after another two hour run following the same kind of group, I had more than the necessary skirmish tickets to get the body armor. After another two hour run on Thursday evening, I had 90% of the required reward track done. Friday morning, tomorrow, I expect to finish that reward track fairly quickly during my next two hour run. The total time, starting from scratch, will be somewhere between 6-8 hours.

And I don't think I was a slow, flimsy liability to anyone. The alt I created to do this on was a deadeye with marauder gear. That enabled me to keep up with the zerg moderately well and to help out in capping towers, keeps and such, as well as contributing ranged dps and stealth in fights.

For me, there were two keys things in all of this. First, find a build that could move reasonably fast without a warclaw, one that can also be useful in a zerg. Second, finding a zerg to follow. That second point is not all that hard to do. If you don't see an open tag zerg on a given map, ask in team chat if there are any running on other maps. If there aren't any at that time, ask if anyone knows if/when one runs on a regular basis. If your server is so dead that you can't find such zergs, it may be time to think about changing servers. Getting the warclaw does take some effort but for me, it was not "almost impossible". It just took a little bit of time and not all that much time either.

EDIT: About 50 minutes into this morning's run I finished the required reward track and was able to get my warclaw. So that was 6 hours and 50 minutes of running with an open tag zerg to get the mount.

Kill a guard at every structure.  As long as you stay on the map, you get credit.

I am NA, but not TC.

TC of old would have assisted you.

TC of new will help you too. Just helped 2 people over the last couple days get theirs finished.  Mention that you don't have a mount in squad and many commanders will put a mark on you so people can escort with their warclaws for movement speed.

Taking keeps in Tier 1 can be the hardest part especially on EBG .
