2 or 3 years ago they added conc and Expertise to cele. Instead of lowering the other values to keep to totalnumber of stats where it was, they just added conc and Expertise ontop for free, which lead to the most statbloated statallocation ever. And this is also the problem if you ask me. 

but we all need to sit down and realize... that wvw isnt balanced for smallscale. 

Personally i have made my inner piece with thinking that cele is a tool that anet gave to roamers to hold its ground in outnumbered situations... for example when you are 4 guys all running cele and there is a 10 man puggroup coming to take your tower....  there is a possible chance that the 4 celeguys will win this.

The same thing would be impossible with marauder, because numbers just matter so much nowadays...  BUT CELE CAN BRIDGE THIS GAP.

if you get into that mentality and finally start joining the other noobs that run cele... the grass is alot greener.

tldr: if you dont rune cele in 2023... are you even roaming?

I roam in full zerk with eagle runes on my war.

Sure, remove it:

- after every profession has equalised base stats for a start or a small variance for thematic purposes but base stat total = the same for everyone

- boons and conditions have been balanced across the board (both efficacy and availability, alacrity and quickness removed)

- every weapon has clearly been categorised as either Support, Power or Condi.

 

Level the playing field, let us choose what to specialise in. Let rock be rock, scissor be scissor and paper be paper. Let the games begin.

But, but, guild wars 2 has no mmo trinity, she is so unique, different from the other gurls 🤣

I know right? At least from their original design manifesto. Up until early in release where they started nerfing things because roles were clearly forming and looking at very clear roles present today.

They also lost track of their original justifications for the differences in base stats. Using core Ele as an example because it's what I know best: healing skills nerfed because healer role started, low vitality and toughness because of range and access to boons, yet most especs released are melee and now other classes have just as much access to even more boons practically permanently. A very small example and others can be found in all classes.

Point being the original parameters that the game was balanced around have been thrown out the window, so to me at least the underlying foundation that was built upon those parameters no longer apply and should be reworked. It would also simplify the current balance teams job because there are fewer variables to deal with and more focus can be placed on traits, class mechanics and weapon skills.

Anyway, just sharing my perspective.

My suggestion

Concentration:

Lower from 1% boon duration per 15 -> 25 concentration in WvW

Also rebalances Minstrel

 

Expertise:

Lower from 1% condi duration per 15 -> 21 expertise in WvW

 

Expected drop in boon duration: 17%, about 11% of total with runes

Expected drop in condi duration: 12%, about 8% of total.

Other games limit the number of healers. Wvw doesn't. So it's clear to see why 3 to 5 decent Cele players with or without healers that just mindlessly spam aoes while feeling seemingly unkillable could be frustrating

 

 

If you mean 1v1, then some Cele user hits maybe two or three skills and immobs you for what, 10 seconds, which is a long enough time for them to get you to like, half hp... And then they have to do it again to kill you.

 

Imo all Cele does is force condi clears and cleansing sigils etc. on every build... so in a game about builds and alternative playstyles, Cele just restricts everyone else's options which is bad game design. In what game is the jack of all trades style of play also the most oppressive? Basically none imo. 

 

I don't see why they don't experiment with shaving 2-5% off Cele stats here and there, like they do with necro axe. Maybe the precious skill clicking pve playerbase would complain they lost 2% of their dps? Idk

(WvW) Ele being oppressed by every other class and then immediately blamed for everything under the sun after reluctant buffs for the last 3 years is a separate issue. Cele being this powerful is bad for us all and just gives those who blame ele for their incompetence even more fuel for their fire, because for once their complaint is valid: cele IS disgusting in it's current form lol

Certain people will complain and keep complaining so long as they aren’t having fun. Unfortunately for the rest of us, some subset of these people have very specific requirements about how long a fight should last and who should win (spoiler alert: it’s not you). Anything that doesn’t fall in line with these expectations is problematic and should be removed.

Noodles for all! lol, you would think by now people would stop and ask, how did we get the Feb Nerf bat to everyone? Because paper called out rock and scissors agreed. If you find outlying skills, bring them up in the class forums. If you really think the armor sets makes all unkillable monsters of destruction, play it, show it off and try it on all elites and classes. But if you really think one build armor stat rules roaming, havoc and zerg. Please share it. Not seeing it myself so maybe I am missing out.

I'm not even bothered by trailblazers. IMO its a fine option for a condi build. It gives the amount of bunkering needed to apply condis that will maybe stick... without making the build immortal like cele.

But yeah the logic "but if you remove cele what else will you remove" is mental. This is a thread about cele.

Why not everyone in WvW be locked into Celestial Gear.

- No Condi vs Power discussions because everyone will be building hybrid damage builds.

- People will run a Condi pressure weapon swap and a Power pressure weapon swap.

- Everyone is tankier by default so no more q.q about being bursted.

- Everyone has decently good sustain.

- Everyone will be able to play WvW without needing to build specific Exotic/Ascended set for it.
