...So I lost all my astrals from the last 4 days...

  I did the "dailies" of the days 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 and found weird that the currency wasn't stacking. A few minutes ago accidentally click a chest icon and noticed that the reward became unlocked.

  So essentially I lost every progress made in the past five days, without even knowning it.

  Thanks Anet for explaining this in nowhere, I'm sure will please both veterans and newcomers.

   Keep your programmers busy in the gem store instead of fixing bugs or releasing new "features" as this vault crap; at least in the gem store they can't hurt us.

Arena Net should make use of area below compass where you can see Wizard's Vault (WV) tasks and each tasks progression to remind player that they have a WV chest that can be claimed in WV. That is to direct player to WV shop attention that they can now use AA to buy things.

In my opinion it wouldn't be too bad to also have list like for Achievement Points in Hero Panel where you can see what you can unlock as you progress in UI for WV. That way player will have the opportunity buy items before they get to Legacy archive or what ever that will be called where you have to pay more Astral Acclaim to buy that same item.

Most player of GW2 like to be able to plan their goals and feel that they get rewarded as they get there and not feel stressed out in a system where one have no control for what each item will cost or what will happen if one need to take a break from playing for some time.

There seem also that when some WV task are bugged that you now will loose out from gaining AA and final chest reward. Last night trying to do Escort 10 Dolly Weekly didn't give any progression and the daily for Defending didn't register when I defended a camp and resurrected Supervisor, had countdown to Repel enemies and still no progress for that daily with only 30 min left before reset. This is a frustrating system with Wizrd's Vault (especially when it buggs out), where I could just do some fast Gather in Tyria (or in my Home Instance to complete three tasks for Daily) or pick any other WvW task to get the final third task to finish for that day.

   I guess "Obscure" fits everything related with the expansion. In the previous system everything you earned was either instantly added to your purse or remained tinkiling in the left corned until you claimed it. In the new Anet doesn't even care if players claims rewards or not. Just imagine checking your bank account discovering that last month you didn't receive your salary and once asked the accountant of your company just answered "lol you didn't claim your wage!"

That's interesting, because I tested that during todays reset (after reading someone mentioning it in another thread) and it appears that only login 5aa rewards don't get auto-claimed on the next day. When I did a daily (10aa) and didn't claim it yesterday, the next day -which is today- it was automatically added to the currency wallet. 99% sure about it unless it was some freak accident (doubt) since I wrote down the values.

Im confused if i dont notice to click on the astral reward box it will disappear, and i wont get the AA? I wish Anet had the system to mail you things that you miss looting like other games do. Sometimes in a big event you are rushing through or your bags are full, other games allow you to get the stuff you missed in the mail

Clearly not, they need a big flashing sign like the you have a mastery ready too train pop up it seems.

I actually miss that mastery notification all the time fwiw. Harder to miss the acclaim notification imo, but yeah, tough break for op. Ultimately it's just a little acclaim, not a huge loss. Probably lost more rewards by coming to the forums instead of grinding out gold in game ; p The reason it doesn't autoclaim is that there's a cap, don't want to lose rewards that spill over that cap . . .

  No, I though that it was a signal of task done, so once I filled the bar of each one, I just leave it.  In WvW and PvP reward tracks you don't need to click on any menu to claim anything, and the things you have to claim manually appear in little tinkling chest in the left corner, and you need to click once, then accept, then the content goes to your inventory (if you have space) and then you have open new chest, etc.

  The new system is 100% different in the way in which you interact with it. It also have time caps beyond you can't claim the rewards, whereas in the old, if you don't claim loot, gathereing materials or rewards chest (for example if you don't have free slots enough) it stops stacking the chain of clamable rewards.

   I don't known why you are surprised:: the Wizzard Vault has the visual design of the loot boxes for a phone game, but with 0 animations or sounds. I though that I was just seing a list of the task I did and the AA currency would be added to my purse and then I would have to spent it before the end of the season. The system is also different from the Black Lion Market, which sends the purchases to your main and when you check it you see the stuff and a button to claim or refuse. This Wizaard Vault has no "claim" buttons nor animations of any kind. How would I to figure that after doing the task I'm not getting the rewards due something as dumb as not clicking in a static screen with no animations and no intications of "hey, you have to click here if you want your AA".

Similar exclamation mark is visible in tp whenever you have items or gold there and in that case you have to take it out manually. Also, as already said, when I tested it during last reset, the daily 10aa was auto-claimed when I logged in the next day. 5aa for login was not. Didn't test the "main" [4/4 complete] chest at the top because I don't feel like putting 30aa on the line here, even though I could easly live without it 😄

Well you kinda said it in the P you dident see your AA go up that would have been a big indication for me to go into the menu and click around.

   They released an expansion being extremely vague about some of the changes they will introduce in the game, as the dailies, the runes or relics. Then when arrived the tooltips are lacking or even wrong, there's bugs due lack of testing and the new reward system lacks clarity. Remembers me the xp achivement system to ease the leveling for new players they introduced before the Steam release that no one uses because instead of a single list in order with all the things that boost your progress the achievements are fractioned in a convoluted swarm of non related things, so people get lost just in the menus...

There is an obvious difference between several shiny, wiggling chests in the corner of your screen (where EVERYTHING has gone for YEARS), and a single tiny icon in the place that usually tells you about gem shop deals. That alone is irrefutable, but somehow people refute it anyway. Good for you if you caught on to where to click, but everyone's intuition is different. Rewards always appear in that corner, so these new rewards should go there, too.

A player completes the cheevo, the chest icon appears, and they right-click it to get the rewards immediately. Nice and simple, no opening a menu and clicking into the right tab.

There literally is an exclamation mark on the Vault's icon when a daily/weekly/special has been completed. And it doesn't go away until you claim the reward.

I thought that was a counter, to let you know how many you have done.

 

I am in the same basket as the OP. It took me 4 days to find out you need to click on the chest to get the reward. I thought the system was bugged. I ended up asking in Lion's Arch if anyone else had encountered this 'bug.' Someone kindly explained what I needed to do. Others were just plain rude and unhelpful (like in this thread), but it was in Lion's Arch so that was not unexpected

The reward system has changed. The new one is not initially intuitive. It is different to other rewards in the game. Rewards in the game DO NOT have consistency now.

Also from a point above, not everyone plays or has played a phone game, so if the system is mimicking that one, then it is not going to be obvious to all.

It is easy to make fun of people, but I would remind you both that there is settings in Option to turn of (hide) different part of UI and when that section for UI where you see Gem Store/Trade post have a red dot or there is new message waiting is also possible to hide.

So maybe think a bit about that not everybody like to have part of screen full with red dots waiting for a reaction from player.

We also have chat where there is system messages and inventory messages (can be filtered to on or off) which would be better to have as something does already exist and we have broadcast messages (large text in centre of screen) for messages that player should see independent of status in chat filter or other settings.

So you overlooked something, made a mistake. Now you know better and it won't affect you anymore going forward.

There are visual tells. Yes, they're not exactly the same as previously - but it's also a new system. Blaming this on the devs idk .. why not just admit you made a mistake and move on? This happens maybe once to a player and then they realize it (hopefully), the new system will likely stay around for a long time. In the future people will think it silly that one wouldn't notice the alert on the vault and think it obvious to click to receive the rewards. This is a very temporary issue (if its even an issue at all) that will go away on its own.

Cool. Purtting aside why would you permanently (instead of, for example, just in combat) hide these icons... how do those players know about the objectives in the first place? That's right, they need to open a window. How do they know they finished the objectives? Well... probably they either put those objectives as "observed", at which point it will show "100%" (where completed achievements don't normally linger in "observed" area), pretty sure in some different color, oor they'll open the window with objectives to make sure they're done, where the bar is green and chest/s glow (I think?).

Luckily, the screen is basically never "full of red dots".

Or use "observed" feature which also is there for a reason. (and again, pretty sure unclaimed 10aa dailies are auto-claimed on the next day's login)

I don't want to get into an argument here with you, but it is devs responsibility to also design user content where they take into account that not everything will so self evident as they might think that have designed this type of content, you (devs) have to guide and sometimes explain with text or symbols what is expected of user to do.

If you @Chyro.1462 have been playing this game since before HoT came out, then you might know a lot of what is expected to work by it self like getting autoloot from WB or Chest that are waiting in a corner for loot (containers), where not the way this game where designed from start.

It was added later to make things more convenient for player and to avoid that player needed to spend more time on clearing out their Inventory, then actually playing/participating in events. (When Inventory get full even today you will have a big pop up blocking view on screen, until you get rid of items so that they can get into your Inventory. This doesn't happen as often as it happened during that time.)

This wasn't popular activity among most players at that time. Salvaging meant clicking on each item, no mass salvage at that time and we had no unID items like we have today which also save space until you ID them.

In most part have used Story content to instruct and teach  player what is expected and how to do things, but as for Wizard's Vault they managed to just forget to explain how it is meant to work.

An official tutorial of some kind would be nice, even if it was just a sticky in the SoTo section of the forum.  I suppose there are youtube guides by now.  Reasons like this are why I Ignore actually playing a new expansion right away.  I let everyone else fumble around and I learn from their complaints.
