Gliders, mounts, expansions, wardrobe can stay. But a game play with old skills and guild leveling could be back. BLTC could work as it works now. Fractals could still be there. Old maps could be there. The 9.28.2012 ver. of a game could have all tings that latest has.

So it's not really a reset then.

So not a reset of the game except for 2 things, skills and guild leveling.

Why not say that in the first place?

While a full reset might be possible, if someone actually bothered to save the game's code from launch, I partial reset (just of those things that the OP doesn't like) would be impossible. It would require re-writing nearly all the code, since things like the wardrobe are intertwined with everything, since the item database has been updated several times, etc.

If any studio went through that much effort, they might as well put their energies into a new game.

Yes they could do that before.

Well, what would be faster? Put back things that are missing, or making expansions and modifications fit the original?

How would we know which would be faster. The point I was making that a post saying “reset the game to 2012” is waaaaay to general and doesn’t explain what you want changed. There’s a lot of differences between 2012 and 2018 and skills/guilds are a very minor part. If you had said in your first post “Reset skills and guild leveling to 2012” it would mean you wouldn’t have gotten a bunch of responses about wardrobes, expansions, mounts, and whatever else is different from 2012. You would have gotten a discussion right away about those 2 things.
