Things that should stay and things be removed from the Black Lion Chests period!

These things should be removed from the Black Lion Chests to stop the disappointing Black Lion Chests openings.

1. Utility Primer
2. Metabolic Primer
3. Season 1 Memory Box - Scarlet vs. Lion's Arch 
4. Season 1 Memory Box - Flame and Festivals.png Season 1 Memory Box - Flame and Festivals
5. Self-Style Hair Kit
6. Upgrade Extractor
7. Transmutation Charge  
8. Revive Orb
9. All Dye Kits
10. Toy Miniature Egg

Things that should stay and that players really appreciate. 

1. Tyrian Exchange Voucher
2. Guaranteed Weapon Unlock
3. Guaranteed Armor Unlock
4. Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock
5. Black Lion Miniature Claim Tickets
6. Black Lion Claim Ticket Scraps
7. Black Lion Statuettes

If they would do this change and make give us only these 7 drops as options for common drops, it will make players very happy every time they open a Black Lion Chest because they are always getting something useful.

The Season 1 Memory Boxes are fantastic and should always be available on the Gem Store to compensate for the fact Season 1 is not replayable like the subsequent seasons.

I don't really care about the mini claim tickets, and I'm pretty happy to get hair kits since I don't (yet) have a permanent one. I'm still missing a few of the exclusive dyes so a chance at filling out that collection is also nice.

Subjective value is subjective :D

Personally I like having these in there. (Granted I've gotten so many #5s, I don't need a perma contract.)

Do remember, players can farm for keys via questing, drops, and gold-gem conversion. If one could only spend $$$ to get keys, that would be one thing. But this isn't that, so expect padding. Such is the way of any for profit company, veritably.

Your words would come across as more honest if you say that these are changes you would appreciate, and not try to speak for players in general. It would also help if you back up your statements with reasons for why you like some items and not others, rather than leaving a list with no context.

Please, speak only for yourself. I, for once, would not open any more BLCs if they removed the majority of things you listed.

I tried this at a casino once; a simple suggestion to change their slot machines (with all those pesky 'sorry you lose' rolls :() so that I ALWAYS win, at least something, so that my quarters are always getting me something valuable everytime. To my dismay, gambling still remains a gamble at that place. :anguished:

So, since I have nothing from Season 1, and would, therefore, appreciate getting them from chests, your post is invalid. It has to be, you attempted to represent what would make me happy in your post, despite quite the opposite being the case, right?

I also like the season 1 boxes just for the chance of getting the weapon skins from them. Most of the rest of those boxes are fluff or skins I already have.

I also like having dye kits primers and upgrade extractors in there, tho the primer recipes from the garden plot limit my desire for those now.

Also, I’m not sure whether I’m supposed to feel surprised or grateful that someone else included me in their generalization of my preferences without asking me. I expect they’d say “players appreciate my speaking up for them and aren’t put out over the presumption at all.” Please let me know.

You forgot makeover kit

There are a couple of things on your list I don't personally need, but I see that other people do need this stuff. For example, I'll not likely run out of transmutation charges any time soon. But there's no doubt people out there who like and need transmutation charges. I love getting revive orbs from the chest though, and metabolic primers. So no, those shouldn't be removed just because one person doesn't want them there or even some people.

At the end of the day everyone has their preferences and the way you worded your post will not likely get any support because you seem to be trying to speak for everyone. People who play this game fall into different groups which have different needs. Unless you know how large your group is, you probably shouldn't be asking for universal change. It's not good for the game.

I'm sorry OP, but I think the Black Lion Chests are fine the way they are. We all like different things, and what might be disappointing to you, will make someone else happy. That's just the way it is.

The problem with the OPs post is that it doesnt clarify what happens to the odds of getting something that you want.If items are to be removed from the chest then they either have to be replaced with something else of little value or replaced with nothing, so now an option is when you open a chest is that you get nothing, otherwise all thats happening is that the chest simply now gives better stuff all the time.This would then require that either , BLC keys became much harder to find , or were much more expensive to buy in the Gem store otherwise it simply devalues the better items in the chest.

Only thing that should be changed in the Black Lion chests are the Dye kits. An I don't mean removed. Their loot pools need to be adjusted for the exclusive dye kits. Opened 8 of the primordous dye kits and only got 1 exclusive dye and to many commons which I already had. Maybe if they included just rares and the exclusives in the dye kits . It wouldn't feel like such a bad sting.

I happen to like the primers. It lets me use expensive food without having to wolf it down every 30 minutes.

They talked about removing boosts but the primers are boosts... is like those out, but even more so the upgrade extractors and toy mini eggs (minis are so common in those the things are useless). I’m very happy they took out the salvage kits. The hair styling is also annoyingly useless, ESPECIALLY with the total makeover also an item and that includes all the stuff in the hair kits.

I don't care about the mini claim tickets but I love the memory boxes.

I also like the primers for wvw ... some of that food is expensive.

My needs are different to yours so I totally disagree with the OP. I like how the OP ended the title of his post with "Period". As if his opinion is the only correct one. Try again.

1. Total Make-Over Kit
2. Self-Style Hair Kit
3. Any and All Dye Kits

You see... I do A LOT of WvW and after a full day's campaign of Murder :skull: and Pillaging :scream: the enemy, I can always use a kit or two to help spruce things up a bit after I wash off all the BLOOD.

What do you appreciate about the Tyrian exchange voucher though? I for example have an abundance of all currencies that are offered by it.On the other hand, those memory boxes and dye kits are fine imo. Cant please everyone...
