  1. Their stealth is annoying but DE hunting is one of my favorite activities in a match. Any opportunity to play cat and mouse is fun for me.
  2. Have you seen ESO or FFXIV? If you think GW2 is a visual clusterduck, you'd have a heart attack trying to play either of those games. At OP. 1. and 2. are probably still an ongoing progress. The last patch lacked an example of both but the previous one diversified ele attunement traits which are basically the weapon traits for ele and added tradeoffs to Chrono, for example. As for point 3, I don't think they were ever doing that. The intention was never to completely remove them. Nobody really cares about the 4th point, wasted resources IMO.The 5th point shouldn't really be a "project". It should be an ongoing company policy and should be enforced heavily.
  3. Not having proper class lore and identity is my biggest issue with the game. I hate that the classes feel so disconnected from the world they're in. Sometimes feels like my Commander is 1 of only a handful of Guardians in the WORLD. How did my PC learn these skills? Who taught him? Is there a Guardian order of some kind that's just invisible in game? PoF atleast did something but it's still nowhere near good enough. It comes down mostly to 2 design decisions they made in development. Not having mobs with player skills and not having questing. I'd imagine that if there were quests in the game, the order halls like the Vigil Keep, would be huge quest hubs and we would have a lot more lore to talk about. Questing would give a reason to have some kind of class guild hall, a place to learn your class and about your class. But no, the devs discarded all that juicy immersion in the name of convenience and metagaming. Not having mobs with player skills is another point that gives this feeling. Even the humanoid opponents have 1 or 2 skills at most that resemble player class skills. Unlike GW1 where almost every mob had/has them.
  4. And the moment a sylvari he considered a possible recruit refused, he ordered them dead. :P Yes. he had a code, but it was incredibly twisted and his violence/darkness was just as strong as all other nightmare courtiers. Just as Paladins in other settings can turn into Blackguards. Doesn't make them any less a Paladin. Just of the dark variety.
  5. That doesn't really work. Zealous Blade would compete with Retribution, reducing your DPS in PvE(you run both traitlines for any competitive DPS build). If you want more damage in the PvP game modes, I would just put it into GS directly. It's not a great utility weapon so cooldowns are less meaningful. 150 is quite a lot for an Adept trait but I do agree this tier needs a condi trait. Maybe +100?Should also keep the Fury. It is 1 of only 5 skills/traits on Guardian that give access to Fury. Losing even 1 would be a pretty major nerf, especially since its the most significant one. I like Blindness as an idea for this trait. Focusing on utility seems fitting as there's already power and condition options in this trait tier. Makes no practical difference for PvE. You only run EA on a condi build, for power builds SA is better.Zeal is objectively the worst traitline to run in PvP. I don't really have an opinion on this. I think it's fine. The old trait was worth 300 Precision when wielding a 1-hand weapon. That's too much even if it's not exactly OP. You'd have to redesign shouts and their trait together and figure out what you want them to do. Just copy-pasting the Medi trait feels lazy, even if you put a small spin into it. I kinda like this.Although I've been kinda hoping they would swap the Protection from Focus Mastery and Fury from Monk's Focus head to head now that Focus is kind of a DPS weapon rather than defensive.I would settle for either one though. I think Sanctuary would need to lose its Ward before they could drop its cooldown that low. Which I'd be fine with personally.Purging Flames should pulse Burning and cleanses within its radius, not when crossing the threshold.Hallowed Ground should pulse a bit of damage in addition. Provides a lot of Retaliation even now, it's just not great as a DPS increase other than that. Wall of Reflection is probably the most conditionally/situationally useful skill on the class. In ideal circumstances this skill can do better damage than you can just by itself.Just drop this when an Awakened Archer or an Itzel Shadowleaper starts their Rapid Fire attack, and watch how they kill themselves. :lol:I associate magic mirrors with mesmers more than guardians. I would do more. Just compare this to the Axe symbol and you see how vanilla this thing actually is. Almost all the other symbols have some additional value.Lower the base damage by about 20%. Reduce casting time to 1 second. Increase Symbol radius to 240.Knockdown targets in the radius for 1 second.
  6. IME Revenant is the most painful of these to level up. No reliable Swiftness generation, no built-in 25% speed boost, the only ranged option is slow and clunky. However, I haven't leveled up a character after PoF came out so I really don't have an idea how it feels like to level up having mount access. Probably a major difference, I just can't tell you how.
  7. As some kind of weekend event/mini-season it would be pretty cool.Downstate brings a tactical aspect to the game that I enjoy. Rotting/other playmaking revolving around downstate injects decisions into a game that would otherwise be just a circlequest.Removing it completely would decrease the number of braincells required to play. So that's a nope from me.
  8. This is how all similar traits and interactions(food buffs, etc.) work. Only static values that don't change in combat are calculated into percentage based stat-boosts.
  9. I misunderstood the word "singularity". I always thought that referred to the Overload itself, not the period you need to wait before being able to use it. It's a weird word to use for an absence of a mechanic.
  10. That's the Attunement cooldown, not Overload cooldown. Overload cooldown is 20 seconds.
  11. Put a Firebrand, a Scourge, a Mirage and a Holosmith into a teamfight. You never saw a bigger clusterduck.
  12. Most of this is a recent development. Firebrand was great at PvP and WvW on day 1 but it took a lot longer for Fractal- and Raid-groups to start leaning towards Firebrand for support. This should tell you that it's not Firebrand that's overperforming, it's just every other spec either getting butchered or just not measuring up in the first place. Druid and Chrono were hammered down repeatedly, and frankly that treatment was undeserved. While Firebrand has gotten a few minor nerfs lately, it's nothing compared to the hammering druid has been receiving patch after patch.
  13. Yeah, this is a false premise. You can't judge 1 weapon skill without judging the entire weapon as a set.The biggest weakness of Deflecting Shot is the weapon it's attached to.DH Longbow has a slow Autoattack, the 2 skill is on the high end of mediocre damage at best while also rooting you, skill 4 can only realistically be used to give yourself Vigor as it's useless as an offensive skill, and the skill 5 is probably the most telegraphed skill in the game which is easy to dodge if you're capable of counting to three. The skill 3 is indeed the only redeeming quality of the weapon even if you waste a trait to make it great. Though what do I know, I last played a Meditrapper DH in Season 2 when traps still had Daze in them. I never did like that build even though Guardian has always been my most played class.
  14. Yeah, warriors running Tactics won't be the new meta. Dropping either Discipline or Strength or Spb is a no-go. You just give up way too much consistent damage even if you picked up that +50% vs barrier trait. It's too situational even if really good against 1 or 2 classes. Honestly the only thing I can imagine a Warrior dropping is Strength in the Core build, and even so it's unlikely to pick up Warrior's Cunning as picking Tactics would shift the focus of the build away from sidenoding and more into a teamfight DPS/offensive support in which Empower Allies is more valuable. Dunno if this would even work, haven't tested it.
  15. Precast Eruption on your feet - swap to Air - cast Static Field on your feet - cast Windborne Speed - Aftershock.Voila, that's 50 seconds of Swiftness for you with 0 in boon duration. Windborne Speed is enough in when engaged.
  16. I'm not disliking the changes but I wish they had moved the Swiftness into Hardy Conduit instead of Harmonious Conduit.Harmonious Conduit could gain an extra stack of Stability, and it would be a situational choice vs Invigorating Torrents and Tempestuous Aria.
  17. Longbow is fine for OW. I use it occasionally because I like the playstyle too.For Fractals it's a big thick nope though unless you like getting flak from pugs. Scepter/Sword/Focus and GS is the way to go.Don't lock yourself into a specific set of weapons even if you don't like the other options. You will like getting called names even less.
  18. Mostly a question of whether it refreshes its duration upon application if this is good or not. Most unique effects do.
  19. Are you looking at the PvE duration?https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Portal_EntreClearly says 30 seconds.
  20. That would be 30 seconds. Which is why Portal isn't run in PvP. You can't do anything worthy of sacrificing that utility slot in 30 seconds.
  21. You didn't mention this would drain energy until now...So would it drain energy every time you reduce an allies damage? With a base energy drain of -4?
  22. Poison will never make sense on Guardian. No matter what else we see from Guardian in the future, Poison will never be added to the class. Poison = dishonorable, which goes against the core ideas and virtues of Guardian. ANet is big on lore and flavor reasons. Even Torment or Confusion are more likely. Cripple on F3 chap 1 would be nice though, would add a different kind of defense into the tome. Look, I don't want to go into a massively detailed discussion about this but the things you mention there are just numbers issues which are easily fixed. F1 doesn't do enough damage with 5 pages? Add a 6th pulse to chap 4, reduce casting time, weakness uptime and cooldown time on chap 2, make chap 1 pulse twice before going on a short cooldown. It's not like you can't drop the tome any you time you want either. This way ANet doesn't have to balance the tomes around 5 and 8 pages, just 5.Archivist of Whispers could also be a trait that reduced tome cooldowns based on your remaining pages. Let's say you would get a 10% cooldown refund for each unused page. One major issue is that you really can't nerf the healing coefficients much on Firebrand skills anymore without making it borderline useless. Either you go after core guardian healing or reduce the number of individual skills available. Maybe even go after a few traits, like Writ of Persistence or Pure of Heart. I'm not exactly sure which runes Firebrands use in WvW but going after Monk runes is another option atleast for PvP. They've been way too dominant anyway since the rune overhaul. I tried to tackle multiple angles here, let me know if I'm being incoherent.
  23. u know damage reductions wouldnt really stack that well, ye?and tbh, it would be still too less for that energy-cost. but maybe people would think of actually using a shield. The most people use shiro before dwarf anyway It would still be a 87% damage reduction if calculated multiplicatively. Add Scrapper runes and Frost Aura, and you get even lower.
  24. Minions = sacks of animated flesh. Gross and disrespectful but not evil.Spirits = souls of dead people. Definitely evil. How would you RP as a goody-two-shoes necromancer if you were using the spirit of your dead sister as a minion to do your bidding?
  25. A Diviner Herald stacking Protection beforehand, then using Rite of the Great Dwarf and then channeling this could make his entire party 100% damage resistant for its duration. Sounds a bit overpowered. Cool idea but needs some work.
