  1. I'd rather Dhuumfire worked a bit like Guardians Virtue of Justice passive, applying the burn every few attacks while in Shroud. I'm inclined towards the every 3rd attack variation.Effects: For Scourge Dhuumfire would now apply during Desert Shroud, not on Shade summon/pulse. Which would just work better in every way IMO. Would also mean that when you are in Desert Shroud, your weapon/utility skills can now trigger DhuumfireReduces its effectiveness when vs multiple opponents because the burn only goes to 1 opponent every applicationFrees you from spamming the auto and you get to actually use your skills while still gaining a good benefit from it
  2. These 2 aren't mutually exclusive options. I think it's unlikely that any more classes will gain Barrier or Alacrity on their current skills. I think it's more about giving them some more leeway when it comes to future skills. I can't believe there are people that use Relentless Pursuit. I thought that trait was completely dead weight.
  3. Hammer 3 has always stood out like a sore thumb as the only 1200 range skill on a melee weapon kit...We're all kinda used to it at this point but fact is it's never been a well designed skill for this weapon.IMO it needs to be made into a mid-range cone-shaped attack.
  4. Oh please do reconsider these, Condi Mirage is really not that bad currently. Any threads/comments about that you may have seen are by perpetual mesmer-haters that won't be satisfied until the entire class is deleted. If you aren't touching Infinite Horizon yet, you really shouldn't do anything at all. We can wait. For the record, I've never enjoyed playing Mirage or playing against Mirage but I think they've been hammered with enough nerfs for now.
  5. The PvP sigil selection is currently very lackluster. Without SoA there's just a selection of more or less useless sigils. While I think removing SoA is the right call, I would like to see the selection widened into some direction.
  6. ANet can always contact the proper authorities if they deem it prudent in the situation.OP is not responsible for the need to provide "real evidence", that's what authorities like the police are for. @Synn.8617 If you think there's a chance that you are correct, send a ticket and your screenshots to ANet. You may be right but be very clear that what you're reporting is a suspicion and nothing more. They can investigate, and make the decision about further action. It's not our job as citizens to make the decision about something like this.
  7. Dagger/Pistol and Sword/Dagger are the standard weapon combo sets for a reason. It's because they have synergy with each other combined with forward mobility/engage potential that doesn't rely on Steal. The 2-handed weapons are similar in terms of level of performance. Don't blow your Steal only for mobility. It is a your most valuable tool, and can give you a leg up on many situations. Meta means the most generally useful build for the largest variety of situations while operating in its intended role under the current ruling circumstances. It's also what your team will assume you are running. Deviating from your intended role in the team can result in unintended miscommunication and false assumptions. This in turn increases likelyhood of losing. Although if you perform well in your new role, you can turn the disadvantage into an advantage. Deadeyes shouldn't be an issue for you. If you get in their face, they are basically screwed. Deadeye only has distance and stealth as defenses, eliminating 1 of those will usually make them retreat. You can try out Pistol/Pistol if you want to but you'll quickly realize that the weapon set is doomed to fail and turn against you vs anything with decent reflect access. Like Firebrand, Elementalist, Defense Warriors or Mesmers in general.
  8. At one point, I was brainstorming exactly that just for funsies but I just lost interest in the project. Not that it was bad, I just get way too caught up in details and it becomes a slog. I work out things in my head first before writing them down, so while I had ideas for traits and utilities too, I never finished those. Here's a copy of my draft, the name was more of a working title: SUMMARYRunewardens empower their Virtues at the cost of only being able to use one of them at a time. These empowered Virtues are called Stances. In combat they fight with the Halberd, and cast Glyphs to support themselves. BACKGROUND CLASS MECHANICVirtues become Stances that can only be used one at a time. You default to the F1 stance, and traited on activation effects trigger from entering the respective stance. After entering a stance, all of the stances go into a 10 second global cooldown, locking you into that stance until coming off cooldown. On activation and Passive effect are triggered simultaneously so that the passive benefits are applied to the active. F1, Strength of Justice Passive: Every 5th attack inflicts Burning on foes (4 seconds) and grants you Might (1 stack) for 8 seconds. You gain 150 Power and Condition Damage while in this Stance. On activation: Trigger a fiery blast at your location, doing damage, and Burn(1 stack for 4 seconds) foes around you. This is considered a Blast Combo Finisher, and also removes a boon from effected foes. Radius 240.F2, Renewed Resolve Passive: Regenerate 165 health per second with a scaling of 0,06 from Healing Power. You gain 150 Healing Power and +10% Incoming Healing in this Stance. On activation: Heal allies(5 targets) around you for 1050 with a scaling of 1,00 from Healing Power. You gain +15% more health for each ally healed. F3, Shielding Courage Passive: Gain 700 barrier every 3 seconds with a scaling of 0,12 from Healing Power. You take -20% less Condition Damage while in this Stance. On activation: Grants Aegis for 10 seconds to you and allies around you.WEAPON SKILLSThe main advantage of the Halberd, and Polearms in general, is that they grant you a range advantage over other melee weapons. This range advantage allows the Runewarden to cast his Glyphs at a safer distance and help his allies without fear of instant retaliation, while still being in the thick of it. 3-part Auto-attack chain. Range 180, 3 targets. Damage should be considered slightly less(-5%ish) than a comparable Greatsword attack.Cleaving Strike: Strike your foes, leaving them Vulnerable(1 stack for 6 seconds). 0,5 second animation.Wide Swipe: Swipe horizontally in front of you, inflicting more Vulnerability(1 stack for 6 seconds). 0,5 second animation.Spiritual Thrust: Prepare a powerful thrust, summoning 2 Spirit Halberds to strike with you. Each successful hit inflicts Vulnerability(1 stack for 6 seconds per attack). 0,75 second animation.Conviction: Charge at your foe, dealing damage and removing a boon if you hit. If a boon was removed, inflict Weakness for 3 seconds. Range 600. Cooldown is 8 seconds. 0,5 casting/activation time. Counts as a Leap Combo Finisher.Sundering Arc: Slam your Halberd point first into the ground and release a wave of protective magic that grants Protection to you and your allies for 5 seconds. Foes struck by the wave take damage and are inflicted with Vulnerability(5 stacks for 8 seconds), and Burning(1 stack for 4 seconds). 12 second cooldown. Range 450. 110 degree cone width. 0,25 second activation time. Thunderous Light: Throw your Halberd to target location, knocking down foes and teleporting to where it lands. Knockdown duration is 2 seconds. 180 radius. Range 900. Cooldown 25 seconds. Think Infiltrator's Arrow when you think about the teleport but think True Shot regarding how it would look like.Symbol of Honor: Plant a mystic symbol on your feet that grants Aegis(for 1 second) and Endurance(10) to allies standing in it. Duration is 4 seconds and pulses 5 times. Radius 180. Cooldown 40 seconds. Damage to foes is comparable to Symbol of Swiftness.UTILITY SKILLSA Runewarden uses Glyphs. Why? I don't know. It makes sense to me. Heal: Glyph of Recovery: Regenerate health over time. Lasts for 8 seconds, gain 962 health per pulse, and 0,15 per 1 point of Healing Power. Gain an additional benefit based on which Stance you activate this skill in. F1: Gain Might (1 stack for 8 seconds) each second. F2: Gain Endurance(10) each second. F3: Gain 255 Barrier every second. Barrier gained is increased by 0,25 per point in Healing Power. Cooldown 30 seconds. Utility: TRAITS
  9. Have faith in Larian(the studio that made D:OS2), they are massive fans of BG games as well. If you watch interviews of the CEO, Sven, he even cracks a few jokes only a true BG and D&D fan knows. I expect them to do massively better job than Beamdog did with Siege of Dragonspear.
  10. I think the difference between "lesser" and "higher" dragons is sentience? The others you mention are indeed more akin to beasts and animals but Saltspray Dragons are both intelligent and sentient. Atleast Kuunavang is/was.Personally I don't believe we're ever going back to Cantha but I don't think this is the reason not to.
  11. I can stand behind performance improvements, I just find them unlikely.Would be awesome if the devs suddenly made the game support running on multiple cores. Then you have these modern masterpieces like Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt or Divinity: Original Sin 2 that deliver you the whole package of a great game with breathtaking graphics as well. With Larian in the helm of making Baldur's Gate 3, my hopes are high for that title as well.
  12. Good way to instantly recognize which is being used is seeing whether you are taking damage from the hits or after the hits. If you take notable damage after getting hit directly, you're likely dealing with a condi class. You really also need class knowledge for recognition, knowledge of which way what specialization leans, what their weapons are good at and what the current meta is. Most likely damage types per class: Warrior - Almost always Power, the condi berserker variant is kind of rare nowadays.Guardian - Core builds have a 50/50 chance of being either. Dragonhunter is power. Firebrand is most likely condi if it does any damage to you at all.Revenant - Most likely power. Some Renegades may be condi.Ranger - Power mostly. Some core rangers maybe running the condi Trapper variant but it's not very common.Thief - A real mixed bag currently. Their primary condi application method doesn't rely on weapons. Traditional builds are power and considered more skillful but the condi variants are real strong atm.Engineer - Core doesn't have reliable power burst damage(no, grenade barrage is not good) so more inclined to be condi. Holosmith and Scrapper are both most exclusively power specializations.Elementalist - The other mixed bag. Weaver is played with 3 builds currently. The most common is the Fire Weaver which is a sword duelist build, and hits with high burns(condi). Then there's its water variant which hits with wet noodles but can be unkillable 20 seconds straight. Then there's the ranged FA Weaver which uses scepter hitting with high power damage. Core Elementalist and Tempest are mostly power.Necromancer - Scourge and Core are mostly condi. Reaper is power. All variants eat your boons.Mesmer - If it shoots repeated laser beams or throws a sword at you, it's power. Otherwise it's condi.
  13. Will the Aegis stay after getting hit by the lance?Seems kinda silly that this would give an unfair advantage vs. Guardians if it breaks the Aegis.
  14. I would expect most of your issues to be addressed by being patient.First step is getting a blanket solution/framework that covers most cases which you then expand upon to cover edge cases. This is a big feature, and they're probably not going to get it just right on the first day.Remember how we used to be limited to 4 Shared Inventory slots? Now we're entering the high 20's, or something.
  15. This doesn't happen below platinum if you play an established build that's not necessarily meta. Like Core Guardian, for example.People below plat levels are just not competent enough, don't have good internet, or suffer from terrible FPS/ping.Just don't play a complete potato of a build.
  16. Good luck in your efforts at making GW3!
  17. Core Guardian is on a level where all specs and classes should be. If you stripped away all the expansion powercreep, Core Guardian would be very viable. Core Power Shatter Mesmer is actually IMO superior to Power Mirage(and Chrono obviously) as a +1 spec.It certainly has more burst damage and can realistically build for more stealth access. The GS Ambush on Mirage has its own gameplay niche but it doesn't help you burst down a single target, and Mirage itself doesn't give any damage modifiers. @Trevor Boyer.6524Good list. Pretty accurate for the current levels of powercreep.
  18. lol op complains about 50% damage bonus in tactics vs barrieryou say thissomeone is wrong methinks What he means is that core builds that use Tactics are 100% using the sustain traits and ignoring the damage ones. He's referring to meta though, which is incorrect, seeing as core warrior isn't meta.
  19. If you want to get into PvP, it's absolutely fine to start now.All of us older players make it seem like it's bad and toxic but most of those issues are caused by said experience.Your new player experience will probably be vastly different to what we face every day. The things old players are sick and tired of will probably feel fresh and exciting to you. You'll get to feel the full potential of the game's combat system, which is the best in the market. You honestly just don't get to feel that potential in other game modes, other than maybe WvW and even there it's covered by layers of other things like siege, mount tactics, NPC's, etc.
  20. I don't think it's lack of talent exactly, rather lack of creativity. Arken's an excellent player and Firebrand but he refuses to play meta builds even when he probably should. Naru plays in the undisputedly best team in GW2 but he's not the best Firebrand.Point is that while EU has great Firebrand players(Cookie, Aeon, Blackjack), none of them stream regularly or try to actively innovate new builds. I guess Europe is instinctively more respectful of traditions..
  21. I would drop that Zeal if I was you. Zeal is mostly about Symbols doing more damage but good luck trying to get any opponent to stay in them.Trying to build for 100% Retaliation, or even high uptime, isn't really worth the effort of speccing for Boon Duration. I would just spec into Virtues to gain the extra stunbreak and Stability, and the Retaliation on F1-F3. +20% damage with Aegis on for your burst windows is good too. You won't have sustained high damage as a Guardian vs players, you should basically be hanging back Scepter autoing until you can jump on someone (who's vulnerable) with your GS burst. F1+GS2+JI. I'm no expert when it comes to WvW as I mostly sPvP but here's what I would run:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWwAEt3lFwAZeMM2IW+PqrcA-zVRYBRNIG+zoPpQEqALOL6/aB-w Small scale WvW more or less works like sPvP in terms of how you teamfight. More interesting Rune choices in WvW though.InsaneQR's advice is solid. The rune I have in the editor is something I'd personally be interested in trying. Defender could work out really well for a Guardian with their high amount of single blocks. Can't say it's tried and tested though, maybe Rune of the Defender doesn't even work with Aegis.
  22. I discounted Elite Spec weapons that don't have a trait. They're not strictly needed as Elite specs can be designed in a way a trait is not necessary.Holo doesn't have a sword trait, Scrapper has no hammer trait(anymore) and Chrono doesn't have a shield trait either.
  23. Wrathful Spirit is doing nothing for you in this build. Retaliation is kinda useless in PvE without Radiance. I'd suggest Zealous Scepter instead. You call it DPS but it's probably one of the tankiest builds I've ever seen. One of these excludes the other. Everything you put into defense is away from offense. My suggestion with minimal changes:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWABk6x3lFw8YYMQGJOuPupXA-zRRYiRP+MCenRgSh0VBWcA-eI went with Marauder for the jewelry+weapons but you could do Zealot or Diviner if you want to focus on healing or boons.2600 Armor(item defense+Toughness) is considered the optimal value as Toughness starts losing its scaling after that point. Meaning that points put into Toughness beyond this point reduce the damage less in relation to the points under 2650 or so.
  24. I made a list the other day. Elementalist: Done.Engineer: Entirely missing a trait for Rifle.Guardian: Focus Mastery, Stalwart Defender, Unrelenting Criticism.Mesmer: Imagined Burden, Duelist's Discipline, Fencer's Finesse, Warden's Feedback, The Pledge, Mirrored Axes.Necromancer: Soul Marks, Banshee's Wail.Ranger: Primal Echoes.Revenant: Is missing traits for Staff, Mace, Axe and Hammer.Thief: No Shortbow trait.Warrior: Sundering Mace, Crack Shot, Sun and Moon Style. Notice how they've barely touched Mesmer yet. Guess they thought they would get flak for "buffing" Mesmer given the currently prevalent resentment in the community towards the class.
  25. I originally started out playing different professions for PvE and PvP. Guardian for PvE and Necromancer for PvP. When you already play 2 classes, adding more to that isn't a big leap. Although learning how to play the Thief mobility wasn't an easy job after playing the 2 slowest classes in the game.Nowadays I play all classes to some degree but I do ranked maybe on 3 or 4 of them which change occasionally. I tend to learn builds instead of classes. My past builds include HoT period bunker/resbot Scrapper, Support Tempest, Bunker Druid, Reaper at almost all builds you can think of, Radiant GS Core Guard, Power Shiro Herald and D/P Daredevil. Spellbreaker and Support Firebrand are basically the only PoF builds I've played to any major degree.
