Hard disagree here.1.Variety is not a bad thing.Having 5 game modes that all play the same is much worse. 2.While your point about build match ups is true to a certain extent its definitely not the only thing that determines matches.Adaptation and team gaming is strong. 3.Build variety does not suffer when you take into context that many builds that don't work in conquest work in 2v2s and vice versa. 4.This is a side thing. The main attraction as far as PvP goes is still conquest.A bad gamemode we can play for a month is good for variety.
  2. Works really well with grenades motor. The skill has huge potential as a playmaker in 2v2s so I think it's still worth if even if you aren't running grenades.
  3. Been playing magnet grenade zerker. Been working surprisingly well with certain partners in 2v2s but its weaknesses are showing through.Works amazingly in 5v5s as long as your team doesnt get run over. With stability being at an absolute premium it's been making my CC chains better instead of worse ironically.
  4. I would second this only with the stipulation that Anet makes some better ui for getting dou's. This is how it was in WoW and it was better for it. Forcing people to get out of their comfort zone is the only way to make alot of people understand how to do something.
  5. While it's a really cool idea that will add replayability. Alot of the core game would need to be adjusted up to make it an actual challenge.Which means is not a 0 investment addition. That being said core game could 100% use a tune up so maybe it's not so bad.

It's kind of funny.We gamer regularly lament about how big companies only seem to be worries about their short term earnings, even if has a negative effect on a game.We always talk about how these short term focused decisions end up killing games rather then improving them. If GW2 wants to improve financially it needs to improve the new player experience which is currently garbage.Then they need to figure out how to keep people playing the game.
  7. The previous story is LW season 4, so they focused on connecting it to that. Sadely the devs dont put in many references to the core story which is sad.
  8. The war economy son. You have to remember that in effect, the iron legion is an entire state focused 100% on technological advancements. Now in our own history times of war seem to be the greatest motivators for technological advances.(e.g. walkie talkies and the internet) Now consider the iron legion has been doing this none stop since at least the end of the charr civil war. 1 + 1 = 2
  9. The open world is waaaaay too easy.And that's without mentioning that it hasent kept up with power creep. But this is more so due to how little consequence death Caries now.
  10. Joko and kraklkatoric were the best 2 villains GW2 has had.As well as having the best maps IMO, season 4 is also the only story arc that has a satisfying end since core. Even if there were still alot of flaws I think it easily takes the cake.
  11. No.This update is supposed to be a jumping off point for the devs. It's not supposed to be balanced, that comes later. Put it on the watch list for later.
  12. New patch is out. Normally this is when I'd be the most excited and joyous about the game but this one really didn't do it for me.Maybe I was too distracted by how much fun the new strike mission is. After having a day or so to ruminate on the new story patch I've come to these conclusions: Map is very pretty, devs killed It here as usual.I'm liking the new crew we have, Rytlock having someone else to talk to besides Canach is really nice, even if I dont totally agree with where his character is going.No taimi also helps the stakes and the raw-ness of the story alot I feel, even if I love her.3.If you're going to make a meta world boss so long please make it a challange. This next point is the crux of why I thought this story step was kinda lame. Jormag is an awful villain so far. This whole whispers thing is a cool idea but every thing it says makes it look weaker and less like I want to join it.What its trying to temp us with is pathetic.It has nothing to offer the commander and it has nothing to offer the rest of tyria.Yes. I want to help you and aurean create a peaceful age of tyria.Let me just send in my death cult to kill all your friends first, that should let you know I really want to help you.The fact that Rytlock and Crecia fall to this just makes it insulting.Jormag isnt threatening like kralkatoric was and it's not playing its cards right to be make us not want to fight it like joko did. (Briefly) Jormag still holds one card In this, "the threats to come" thing so still salvageable but right now Jormag is a complete joke. Please keep aurene as this perfect character. That was great.
  13. They are good as rewards for now.A single amour piece isnt good enough for me if it's not a chest piece so it balances it out. That being said if they pull this for more then 1 season I don't know how motivated I'll be to get the 11th new emote.

  15. Personally I would love to see a GW3I feel like there's a huge problem with scarring away new players.The quality of the core game is so far below the quality of everything season 3 onward. New players are still forced to go through core however, and have to endure the lack luster core game then take a massive story leap to either season 2 or HoT.
  16. If there is anything about gw2 I have a fundamental problem with its evade spam. This season I played flamethrower engi and someone shouldn't be able to evade through that auto attack for 10 seconds strait. I dont think its particularly overpowered atm, but I do think theres something fundamentally wrong with that.
  17. While I hard disagree with your solutions,I think theres alot of truth in what you say. This game is designed in a very self destructive way, so much content consumed so fast with not alot to do after.

Because this is simply how you write long running narratives.If every loose end was tied up at the end of an expansion then there would be nothing to speculate about in between story updates.If every loose end was tied up with a season there would be cohesion and the plot wouldn't feel like it was moving anywhere.(See: the last episode of season 3 was largely discounted from the narrative so it could tie up a loose end.) Imagine If all the questions we had were answered, then the next story thread could feel like it came out of left field or was unrelated. This way the community has things to speculate on during down time, and the narrative team has(more-or-less) backup stories to splash in if they feel like they need to fill in a space. It is kinda sad we have to wait to hear all the answers but I guess that's just how it is.

Imo you hit alot of stuff that doesnt really matter.The problem isn't that holoforge is really good.The problem is that the mechanic to counterbalance how good holosmith is doesn't work as a counter balance. Increase heat generation and nerf ways to deal with heat and that will hit the the actual problem.

  21. This is just silly.You want to take away the only thing keeping their in the meta without offering anything back. If you want people to agree with you then you need to make them excited not angry.
  22. There has been a steady increase of them ever since season 2. but I'm fairly certain that's because this chapter is about the charr and the charr tend to curse more then any other race, even in vanilla.
