  1. Living world is the in-between story/maps/patches of major releases (base game, expansions) They offer unique gameplay and experiences so I'd say they're worth checking out. Especially the third and fourth seasons.
  2. 95% of the time there's stuff in my mat storage that will earn me extra gold. Especially the trophy section, which I often ignore.
  3. Guardian is good in literally anything. Just need the right builds and equipment sets.
  4. Sad to hear that nothing of value bas dropped for you (except this ofc). Big grats to the drop. Recently I was surprised when doing a bounty, a BL Chest Key dropped from it. Woah, I did not see that coming.
  5. I would like a map similar to FFXIV's Eureka or Bozjan Southern Front where there is a micro-progression system. You start at the bottom and work your way up with multiple parties over the course of many days. Unlike Eureka, I would enjoy if the activities weren't fetch questy, though. I'd imagine metas becoming unlocked the higher level you go would be exciting. The rewards could offer completely new items, skins, tonics...mount skins? Another difference between FFXIV and GW2 is the platforming, gliding, etc. There is so much potential in such a concept IMO. Mounts could also be disabled at the start, and slowly unlock the further you go. The mastery skills are irrelevant in such a map, instead the map offers its own "mini mastery tree".
  6. Trade contracts + karma = House of Daoud Cloth Crates which sell for 17 silver each. 630 karma and 50 contracts.
  7. I suggested the name "Legendary Legendary" in map chat once. It would be funny to see the doppelganger in Elon Riverlands show "Legendary Legendary Legendary". It's now taken by somebody :(
  8. Me and my bad wifi adapter... often times I will mount up, but the camera doesn't move. In fact my mount doesn't even load thanks to my bad internet and bad laptop specs. This causes my character to actually be under the map when the camera snaps back to place, lol. It seems to happen often in Auric Basin at the steps where you break the vine doors down for the meta. Yes, they are accidentally shot under the ground, and I can explore it and stuff.
  9. Mobs in Fractals will drop less trash and more sweet loots.
  10. Yeah the elite for Ventari used to have no cooldown lols. You could spam it non stop.
  11. Condi is good for raids and open world, but only 50% alacrity uptime. Shortbow great for tagging mobs. Power "alacrigade" is more expensive but worth it. It's useful in more raid scenarios than condi ren and all Fractals. It scales better for early open world exploration with structure enemies that are immune to conditions.
  12. Actually there were two preview/Beta weekends for PoF, one for PvE and one with Elite-Specs for PvP It wasn't an open beta though, it was only available to people who had pre-purchased the expansion. The HoT one, if I remember correctly, was also open to people who owned the base game but hadn't yet bought HoT.Pretty sure this isn't true. I remember purchasing PoF a day after it released (my cousin gave me money then I owed her after) even though I tested out Mirage in sPvP extensively.
  13. It's rare finding someone who genuinely plays PvP to lose and learn more. I can't imagine how much acceptance to losing one must have.
  14. I hateeeeee unranked. It's so bad. Reason: almost nobody knows what they're doing Reason: 1/5 games you have the one team member who is toxic for some reason. Go be toxic in ranked please. Reason: matchmaking is wildly unbalanced. You might be in a team full of noobs against a team of 5-man premades getting ready for the monthly AT or regular AT. Reason: you're testing your build that you worked on for 6 hours. You worked on it outside the game on gw2builds. All that work led to failure as the build dies too easily and doesn't deal enough damage. The build lacks role identity. Reason: lack of rewards. No pip advancement.
  15. For fun and rares. There's a lot of downtime so it's perfect to stop-and-go. I also do "off timer" world bosses for the Treasure Hunter achievement items, like exotic Sam, Pendant of Arah, others.
  16. Ranked is a joke. It isn't dead though. There are still people playing PVP. I play it mainly for skins but it has its moments. It can get really repetitive though. WvW is just something I cannot get into.
  17. I did some testing and I found Corruption-Invocation-Renegade to be the best specs for condi DPS. That is, Corruption top-bottom-top, Invocation middle-bottom-middle or middle-middle-middle if your team has enough Might generation, and Renegade middle-middle-middle (DPS variant) or middle-middle-bottom (Alacrity variant). I also prefer to take the Alacrity GM trait so that you help your team out more. On a stationary golem, with 25 vuln stacks, full might, perma quickness/alacrity and buffs with Tuning Icicle and Koi Cake, I was able to do >30k DPS with the DPS trait, and ~28k DPS with the Alacrity GM trait. In more realistic scenarios that is down a bit, and in Fractals maybe even lower with immune phases. That being said Renegade comes with Razorclaw's Rage and Alacrity which helps offset some of the DPS lost. Note that I don't have stat infusions and am missing 4 pieces of ascended Viper's equipment. My rotation is also fairly unoptimized but workable, and I did not use many of the profession-specific enhancements.
  18. An achievement that can't be completed in one sitting. Shocker.
  19. Join a RIBA group in the LFG under Central Tyria--Squad, camps are held up there and you can just afk. I would a legendary has like a 20% chance of spawning during the total meta run.
  20. I know Ember Bay tried doing this, but the volcano area ended up becoming a central part of the map. I would love an oceanic area purely consisting of shallow islands, maybe a larger island that will play a part in the story but not nearly as big as the volcano. Southsun Cove tried but the islands are still too high, the zone is fairly small, and the main island takes up a huge chunk of the map. I also am not super fond of the pink-coral aesthetic of the map. I'm talking like 40 tropical islands or so. Some tiny, some decently-sized. These islands have foes, a few of them might have verticality, plenty of NPCs, some renown hearts, plenty of events. It would be my dream map!
  21. Season 2 offers a bunch of Core Tyria mastery points that help manage Fractals and Legendary Crafting, as well as other benefits. I actually played Season 2 after playing through Heart of Thorns. I preferred it that way--it was cool to see what and how everything led up to the events of Heart of Thorns. Season 3 is great for ascended trinkets and back pieces. Lots of new maps too, two of which are my favorite. Though, it also has some maps I really don't like. Season 4 grants two cool and unique mounts, plus new maps. I actually quit before episode 6 for unrelated reasons, so I didn't get to try the Skyscale or new map. So they all have their own things attached to them. I'd say season 2 is the least impactful in terms of gameplay, while the others come packed with large maps and the like.
  22. Yeah before I played Weaver in PvE and omg..... I died SO much. 11k hp min max, even then I felt like i didn't do a lot of dps. Melee range, locked animations, complex rotations, it feels yucky.
