Edit And here I thought I would be able to get branded skyscale, beetle or griffon. But no apparently they are not a pre eod mount skin. So no freebies as well! Nothing wrong with just claiming. Can't be used unless you purchase PoF. Players can just keep in bank for future use if they decide to upgrade later. There's no possible reason they would have for putting up a "deception" about a free item for less than an hour and then pulling it and backtracking. What we saw here was an absurd communication failure between the people who chose and set up the freebie and the marketing people who create the tweets. No ill intent, just a systems failure that will no doubt occupy ArenaNet members with debrief meetings for most of next week. Miscommunications happen. If the person who decided on the gift and the person in charge of social media communications are one and the same, then you can call it a lie. Even then, mistakes occur. How often have we posted something on this forum and then edited it because that wasn't exactly what we meant? If they had ignored the mistake, then perhaps you can accuse them of it. In this particular case I am inclined to believe that it was a communication or understanding failure between different departments or individuals in the company. I think I misunderstood your initial post. I thought you were saying that the players are able to gift the free licence to other player/account (but to do that, they needed an expansion).
