Everyone who has watched EU mAT probably noticed that mirage with portal is, unfortunately, still playable. We know of at least (and at most) one person who can play it in high level without getting stomped.

You can put it on a node and leave so you threaten decap, forcing one player to sit there for a long time.

Otherwise you can use the portal to quickly bomb someone with your team to gain huge advantage.

We saw similar tactics repeatedly used in mAT. It makes you and your team be on two nodes at the same time with no drawback. Literally the strongest utility skill in the game, and only one person needs to run it. This means it wastes only 1 utility slot for 15 slots for your team in total.

Why isnt that a valid tatic?Isnt possible to counter it as in since u know ur gona get ganked the other team should be aready waiting for that and go cap other points?

The fact u state that portal is "unfortunately is still playable" kinds shows bias that should be ignored. Why shouldn't portal be playable in a match, isnt that the point of having the skill? Why would u want a skill on any class to be unplayable? This is exactly why this new balance team needs to wake up and stop listening to the nerf this spam threads and put time into the game and classes and decide on their own or hire prefessional testers cuz their dooming this game by letting the community steer their balance decisions.

Actually it's because the balance team still isn't allowed to redesign skills. What remains to be seen is if they can influence the skills team and say "Mirage Cloak as a mechanic is too strong it needs a redesign" or "Tomes give too much with no down side, it needs to change" and the skills team actually makes changes so PvP and WvW can actually be fun again. Then adjust boss HP if PvE DPS drops.

Mesmer is also my main Profession. If deleting or nerfing Portal to give it more define new skills than fine. If not, leave it as it is. Portal is Mesmer signature and promotes fair competitive experience to the whole team. In other word; Mesmer is not a selfish Profession whereas Thief Profession is a selfish Profession. Here is a serious question to be asked, how does a non-selfish skill mechanic be given to a selfish skill mechanic Profession? Speaking of bias, that is complete bias against Mesmer define role.

Example; it is like forcing unicycle to behave like a bus to carry more passengers........it's ludicrous!!, Bad Design!!

Thief is a selfish Profession, a selfish roamer......forcing it to play a non-selfish role is wrong, Bad Design. Portal must be immediately removed from it and to be returned to its rightfully non-selfish Profession- Mesmer

• by the way, being a selfish Profession is not ludicrous or is a bad design and if its definite role is to be selfish than it skills and mechanics should also remain selfish as well.

I dunno I have a bit more faith in this balance team, I want to let them have a decent try and honestly the massive patch was very refreshing even if most of the builds I played got shafted.
