Ideas for the new especs based on icons showed

That's really farfetched in my opinion.

The pauldrons on this icon are round, while the leviathan eye is dominated by very sharp and spiked shapes.

It is walking on sharp claws, meanwhile this icon shows fists and muscled arms.

If the icon would show blades on the arms or anything, I could agree that this might be the case. But the way it is designed here, no. I can't see bare fists representing a condition golem. If there would be the slightest detail that it is a golem with something equipped which makes it deal conditions, like flames, blades to make enemies bleed, just the tiniest detail.... But there is nothing.

This is a melee power bruiser for me. I would bet money on that. We will have to wait and see, tho.

um just saw this in the prime gaming page

That looks like an engineer, definitely the belt toolkit is there. And guess what is using as left arm, it looks suspiciously as the icon 8.

Some engie spec based in jade magic arms with axes?

This has been around since the livestream happened.

I am not convinced that this is supposed to showcase our elite spec. First of all, I doubt that Anet would teaser it like that. Second, this character, while being most likely the "agender engineer" voiced by Ry Chase, is not the representing character for engineer elite specs, since we are always represented by a Charr.

It has a jade prosthesis, but just a single one, not 2. I am not convinced that this means anything besides Anet wanting to push for representation by giving us a major character with an obvious disability (which is definitely a good thing in my book!).

what about Anet gives a better representation making the new class to show this kind of disability. It would be even better than just having one main character representing.

It can still use the minions AI to replace the arms like the engineer is the core  for the morphin robot soit uses the constructs to morph into diferent machines during combat.

How would that elite spec showcase this disability? Do you believe the elite spec will be about us cutting off our limbs to replace them with jade tech prostheses?

I kinda doubt this. If anything, I could imagine that engineers use some kind of exo skeleton. A shell they can wear like armor which aids them in combat. Still hope this is not the case, because as stated, the icon clearly reads melee bruiser.

Also.... is it just me or do these "batteries" we see on Jade Tech constructs look like they are holding a liquid?

Seems unlikely unless PCs are going to be cutting off their arms only to magically grow them back later.

What could happen is that similar technology could be used to make what would essentially be power armour - but I don't think one character with a prosthetic is anything near a slam dunk in that respect. It could just be... one character who has a prosthetic, that is still inferior to a regular arm in most respects while still being a lot better than no arm at all. After all, we've had Taimi as essentially an engineer who relies on a golem suit most of the time since before Heart of Thorns, and she hasn't presaged a golemancer elite specialisation.

Kodama is right in that a power melee spec isn't what engineer needs right now. Now, the cynic in me says that this doesn't mean that ArenaNet won't do it anyway, but we'll see when the reveal comes.

Holy crap guys I just had an epiphany.

The second silhouette look like medium armor while the third looks like heavy armor. Since the third silhouette is obviously dual wielding sword it has the be the third icon. Virtuoso was first and was dagger themed and is so obviously the first icon.

The second silhouette is the second icon!

I think we are wrong that the second silhouette is the necro... its the ranger with a darker than normal color. Bear in mind that spellbreaker is a lighter shade of yellow than normal for warrior, and that berserker was a more orange/red shade. The only reason we got thrown off is because they are both shades of green.

So the icons are in order: light, medium, heavy, light, medium, heavy, light, medium, heavy. It would make no sense for them to reveal 2 light armors and a heavy armor or 1 light and 2 medium armors, but one of each tier. There is going to be one of each tier per beta.

1: mesmer, MH dagger

2: ranger, MH pistol/(OH pistol?)

3: guardian, OH sword

4: elementalist: short/longbow, obvious due to icon, but not sure which

5: thief: unknown weapon, could be hammer, GS, or even OH sword still.

6: revenant: unknown weapon though could also be GS.

7: necro: bullet still, but it looks more like a rifle round than a pistol round so I bet its rifle.

8: engineer: unknown weapon (sorry Kodama but this all makes so much more sense now)

9: warrior: potion bottle could be a thrown elixir theme as means of support, my bet is pistol/pistol rather than staff. More of a warrior/engineer crossover where spellbreaker was warrior/mesmer crossover.

So Ranger is no longer represented by a Sylvari but an Asura this time?

Why not. The third silhouette looks like a Sylvari male rather than human male in the saturated images that people are posting, particularly the reddish face. Mesmer was typically a Norn female, but the Virtuosos art looks distinctly human based on clothing and lack of tattoos.

Yeah, out of context without a human nearby a Norn will look like a human, but they don't wear as much clothing as in the Virtuoso artwork.

Does it have to make sense? HoT professions didn't have a specific order to them either, they revealed mesmer, guardian and necro in that order before they stopped doing trailers for each spec entirely.

Putting a necro-like green shade on ranger and give it a e-spec that doesn't seem to fit ranger at all doesn't make much sense either, and that's more important than what order they do the betas in.

I would've never guessed that someone will start to doubt that the second one is necromancer...

Necro is always shown as Asura and is the only Asura in the entire group.

Nothing in that art looked connected to a ranger theme either, but all the green smoke surrounding the spec definitely screamed necromancer as well.

Chances that this is a ranger are basically 0.

Icons and reveals on former websites of expansions also never had an order, they were random back then as well. We have no reason to believe that the icons are in a light-medium-heavy order on repeat this time.

IF the second image shows medium armor and the third shows heavy armor, then the most I could imagine is that Anet is allowing us in the future to use skins of all armor tiers. This is fashion wars and many people would like to use skins of other armor classes.

But the second teaser is bound to be necromancer.

1.Mesmer-virtuoso

2.Ranger- It just looks like a ranger symbol, idk. My only issue is that it looks like an arrow head and rangers already have all the bows. It also looks kinda like a weird helmet

3.Guardian-With that new picture showing the dual swords wearing heavy armor, I believe this one is guard instead of thief.

4.Ele-I mean it's gotta be ele I think, It's a giant flame. My hope was for dual pistols, but longbow seems more likely. Hard to say though but I'm hoping for some good ranged firepower.

5.Thief- I think either GS or Of sword that'll deal with some shadow magic type stuff. The ominous face seems to fit the thief theme most.

6.Revenant- It already has the base icon in it. My guess is dual daggers or scepter/focus. Hoping for a rit spec with more magic elements.

7.Warrior- It's a cut and dry symbol of a bullet shooting. I think thats gotta be a pistol spec for warrior. Otherwise its a rifle spec for ranger.

8.Engineer- Looks like a Golemancer type symbol.

9.Necro-idk why people are saying the bullet. The style of the bullet lacks any magical flair and we clearly see elixers on the necro's belt from the image. It's definitely not engineer. It's a plague doctor.

1. Dagger mez we know allready

2. Shield ranger that has a pet masking ability to take on ability of the pet though mask.

3. Off hand sword gurd that has 3 statence over its core effects. Attk def and balance.

4. Torch main hand or off (i am hoping off) ele. A field combo base class that get added effects from both fields and combos. OR a non atument class where you only have 1/4 of your skills that simply get added effects bast off of your current atument.

5. GS thf slow all in one hit with the ability to go some what def though parryes to open targets up.

6. Dagger rev gw1 class everyone seems to think is coming i know nothing about it.

7. Gun necro life foces base ammo.

8. Dagger main or off hand eng. An exco sute eng.

9. Not sure what wepon but a war that has jade robot arms with kits.

How are you seeing jade robot arms in icon 9?

And from your description... so you basically think both these specs have the same theme with exo suits? That's weird as hell.

I just thought of something. What if that 2nd icon is actually some kind of fan blade on a staff. Something like this https://imgur.com/t7KCHGK.  If that's the case, then what if that 2nd icon isn't for the ranger at all?

Something like hylek spear? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/6/6b/Yellow_Hylek_Heavy_Armor.jpg

Or maybe just an arrowhead.

Jade tech icon. The eng builds its exo suit that enchaining there ability but still keep the same shape. The war gets added arms to be there own use chasing there shape to 2+ arms (4 seems to be a good stander).

I've the same opinion on the order.

I would go the light medium heavy route so:
1 - Virtuoso
2 - Ranger, Beastmaster with shield
3 - Guardian, offhand sw
4 - Ele, rifle would be cool.
5 - Thief, greatsword, chain attacks
6 - Rev, daggers, Togo legend (aggro everything on map and proceed to die).
7 - Necro
8 - Engi, golemancer, maces
9 - War, doesn't quite fit but w/e.

This is actually the hardest to figure out. It looks like the face of an animal or a creature and judging by exclusion assigning the other symbols to their most likely expected profession I ended up with Ranger. It looks like many people agree with Ranger, because we are speculating we can't take anything for granted yet.

Unless Anet is gonna be a bunch of giant poopoos and give us a rifle or pistol (dread) and thus the bullet icon, I don't see any other icon that makes much sense for ranger. It's an animal face.

I think we can only draw a conclusion as soon as the Ranger's Elite spec would be revealed

You can't draw a conclusion about any of this until its confirmed, that's a given.. But it makes the most sense. Animal features are exclusive to ranger icons, while the others don't really fit or at the very least make more sense for other specs.

Arenanet could replace regular pets with demonic pets and give Ranger the menacing mask.

"Breaking the rules" in this case would mean that Rangers part ways with their naturalistic theme for that specialization.

Or Rangers could get access to dual maces and become Juggernauts, along with getting that muscle arm icon.

Obviously, Ranger getting an offhand sword would also make them eligible for the crossed sword icon.

Aside from the obvious Virtuoso symbol, they could get any of them with enough imagination put into the specialization.
