Events within Events...sigh

So, I have two instances in which this happened to me. The first was in the Crystal Oasis. A random player and I were going after a Djinn that spawns just North of Amnoon. So we are doing well, got the Djinn below half health or so and all of a sudden, a roaming Fire Hydra starts digging into us. Being that this Fire Hydra was a mini event and only vet (maybe higher) status did not mean a thing to us. My friend and I wiped. Between the Hydra and the Djinn it was nasty. Eventually we got both of them when one or two others showed up. The second instance took place in the Iron Front (Marches?). Where I had to escort a Sentinel and four Devourers to his base from the Devourer training camp. About 3/4 of the way there I am fighting Flame Legion soldiers and another event pops off. Say hello to Grazelow (Gravelow?). A nasty veggie beastie that you have to kill his tendrils before you can even hit him. I don't know how but I hope this stops. Challenging...yes. But irritating as well.

I actually enjoy this interaction, it’s even better when the mobs hate each other too. Recently I was doing a bounty for Stone Hoof over on the hippie Charr island (name escapes me) and then during the bounty a beetle invasion began as well as an elemental invasion thing. So it was a 4 way war between us, Stone Hoof, the elementals, and the beetles, it was absolute chaos and amazing 10/10 would recommend.

Eh ... this is a frequent occurrence in the lab. You are happily fighting a giant candy corn then a jerk with a chainsaw comes along ...

One time I had the djinn, the hydra and a patrol forged all at once. I let thrm fight it out and picked off the leftovers lol

You forgot the sand lions and if you are really (un)lucky then someone also triggers a bounty nearby.

The veggie beast immune to damage until you destroy all the tendrils, might be the one that spawns if someone is doing LW2. So maybe some players was doing that part of the story and the Husk spawned. It might be very challenging/impossible if it spawns together with the vine-something champion nearby, indeed. But I also like these unexpected fights, when you have to change your strategy (and with change I mean flee as fast as you can).

The husk spawns even if there isn't anyone doing LS2. As does the other champ but they are separated by a decent distance and I am not sure if you can even pull them together if you tried. However there is an escort mission that paths through the husk. You can get the ley line anomaly on top of the other champ though ....

I had triggered the event in Vollym's Battle Pit to fight 8 waves of creatures. A couple of people joined in the fray. In the middle of a wave the message about a Bloodstone Crazed creature appearing showed up. And there it was, spawned smack in the middle of the battle pit. That was a bit of fun. :)

The challenge of the HP you were doing is specifically that it occurs where there's lots of adds. The adds are the challenge. It's intentional.

Like many others, I also enjoy when this kind of thing happens unintentionally. The game is only really fun when it's challenging. I don't want to play only when winning is easy.

You can also clear out most of the stuff around first.

It reminds of those events just north-east of Amnoon (south-west of the D'jinn bottle hero challenge) where you're tasked with protecting a caravan from a Forged Attack. Whilst doing so a Forged Patrol often comes by. Of course a social Hydra comes along and just wants to play (eat) with everyone. Add a sand lion or two with their blinds, some of those eels with their knockdowns, and a sand-shark bursting out of the sands... It's chaos for a few moments, but it's very enjoyable.

It is very ... GW1

IMO, this is a great thing ... that element of random is what makes it fresh. Otherwise, it's just a scripted mob you know how to beat every time, no surprise, no thinking even. I wish MORE of these kinds of things happened in MMO's. The genre flounders; someone needs to take a chance into exploring this 'random' level of content to see if it engages the market.

But they do. In the central example here (the Djinn HP in Crystal Oasis), the Forged fight pretty much everything else.

I have seen two groups meet up and go after each other and totally ignore me. But in the case I presented the Hydra took up with the Djinn I was facing off against. Did it again today playing on a different toon.
