Mirage should be able to dodge while downed

witcher.3197witcher.3197 Member ✭✭✭✭

Dodging stomps is the kind of skillful gameplay we need to see in our guild wars, and being unable to dodge while downed is not just unfun but also goes against mirage class fantasy, please fix :)

Comments

  • sounds like a great idea XD

  • Agreed, also it's not like dodging stomps is without precedent.

while we are at it, can we add the "auto-cast"-feature to our dodge keybind as well?

Mirage should just be true to it's name and not actually exist.

We can only hope it was just a Illusion all along...

What I don’t get is why clones and phantoms cant replicate themselves indefinitely gaining an increase in dps with each replicate. Oh well prob happen this patch

  • I am mirage too, and i think we should have access to all our regular skills when we are downed in pvp.

Due to the lack of dmg, we have taken a look at clones and Phantasms, and how Dodge functions.

Mesmers and mesmers elites now Dodge while activating any skill. And successfully landing a skill ( includes Condi ticks) causes the Mesmer/mirage/Chrono to dodge on top of the enemy regardless of range, and summoniong 50 illuisons and 50 Phantasms. Who all dodge and explode the target.

Clones and Phantasms summoned do not disappear, nor take dmg and now free roam after summoned

Additionally, Mirages are unaffected by any ability, global, or internal cooldowns.

  • I think, the discussion Mirage should be able to dodge while downed should be renamed to... All enemy(on second thought... the word "enemy" is optional) players should get downed when mirage dodges

you realize if a mirage dodges while he's cced that you're the one WINNING from the whole ordeal? because he can't use his stamina to attack you afterwards

he literally uses his resource which feeds his illusions with infinite horizon which is where the damage comes from (if you play IH, if you play ineptitude its from the shatters which are melee which are telegraphed and which have long cooldowns)
if he dodges while he's cced you're reducing his offensive potential right afterwards

this whole "QQ MIRAGE CAN DODGE QQ" is so overblown and stupid and one-sided and ill-informed

__ that's literally the concept of the class __

other classes can dodge while cced too, it's called break stuns
mirage has no stability to compensate for the ability to dodge so it'll get cced more often than other classes for that exact reason. half of the meta classes atm are running with long durations stability which makes them facetank CC instead without paying for it with say a resource like stamina

    No?
Player just used CC that goes on cd. Dodge regens at 10 secs, less when you have vigor. CD on many CC skills is 2x or more compared to dodge.
How is that an even comparison? Not like mirage can only do damage with ambush...

players use CC and then someone uses stability and nothing happens with that CC. What's your point?

Engi has like 10 sec stability every 30 sec with invul, a frontal invul(block) and 100% vigor uptime and it only uses its stamina to dodge and it has protection as well
mirage has no stability, no protection, it needs its stamina to do damage cause its auto attacks dont do the same dmg so you need mirage ambush to do damage which costs stamina

it's so easy to only look at 1 side of the coin and not both sides. Yeah sure mirage can dodge while cced and thats its strength that makes up for 10 weaknesses you don't mention

procing stability when im cc'ed does nothing aslong as its not a stunbreak. a player of your format should know that much. proccing stability that also is a stunbreak doesnt let me evade aka go invurln for the duration of my next casts either. and than we need to talk about the timframe mirage has access to stability and the cooldown other classes have to those stability proccing stunbreaks.

mirage has all the mentioned boons ez if it decides to trait for it btw

it is very hard to look at the other side of the coin if the bodyfat that mirage and mesmer covers is as groundbreaking as it is atm.

  • Mesmer should have a passive where every 60 seconds if they suffer lethal damage their health resets to full. I think it would fit thematically because the enemy would think they have you caught, but really the low health was just a mirage. The fact that they don't have anything like this makes me worried about the direction this game is going in.

If a player uses CC when an enemy player has stability, that's a misplay on part of the first player. He got punished for wasting CC. That's my point.
You should evade the CC before it hits, not after.

Mirage does have access to stability and protection. All in the Chaos line.
Let's also not overlook how mirages get access to mirage cloak from False Oasis shard and illusionary ambush.

Mirage has plenty of strengths. Dodging after stunned shouldn't be one of them.
Every other class has clear strengths and weaknesses. You seem to want to keep this mechanic that only benefits mirage to cover a weakness.
