We haven't had a significant balance patch Since Feb 2020

The game made is stale, broken and in dire need of corrective course. It's been two years since we had a real balance patch. Not sure what happened. Take a look at yourself:

 

More changes in that patch than all the subsequent patches combined.

And now they're breaking their own rules from their own mAnIfEsTo from 2020 that cc skills do not do damage. Harbinger got a skill that is a mobility, cc, high damage, inflicts heavy amounts of torment, and evades with potential for double damage. Im sorry, what? Yet Guardian hammer 4, banish, the hardest cc to hit in the game in pvp almost with a long windup and small hitbox, cant do damage? On top of being almost useless to the hammer skills anyways since it knocks them out of range of any follow up.

Yeah I noticed that, my guess is they intentionally made it that way so the spec seems super strong to encourage people to play it, they'll probably nerf it later, summer patch maybe.

My guess is that they will give us new runes and sigils when the strike CMs drop, then wait a few months and then do a big balance patch in the summer when they rework banners and sprites.

Why the hell don't they just balance as they go, like other mmos?

The development process for GW2 has to be the most inefficient and wasteful of any game i've ever enountered.

Dazes have always dealt damage and been the exception

The skill does need a damage reduction, but it's disingenuous to conflate it with the .01 power mods that CC skills get.

i mean, the thing is u can use the shroud leap EITHER as dmg or as cc ... and its your only safe way out of bad situations. the shroud 3 slide is far less reliable and gets messed up by terrain at times.

 

and don't you mention feb20 thanks @jul.7602 this very patch there destroyed so much quality in this game. i dont care at all if a#enet ever does any balance patch again, they totally messed up far more with their "balance" than they could ever fix again with their babychanges

 

class balance overall is horrible.

They don't even comment commits to their repo and/or document changes.

Dazes are allowed to do damage in competitive with a few exceptions.

It broke every aspect of roaming,blobbing. Nowadays because of that patch,the game mode is how it is. A clownfiesta.

It's always funny looking back as people tried to defend the announced changes.

Not to toot my own horn, but per the usual, I was correct in the assessment how the style of play would evolve.

Ya its a real shame its been so long with the wvw meta so stagnet. What realty the problem is the lack of going after and "fixing" the update anet has done. Anet has yet to go back to fix 300 sec cd passive skills no rework for long cd hard cc that where balanced was with dmg in mind before the update, cd on self stab being 1 min with out any real work up of duration and effects.

Hey I got question for you.

ANet wants everything to have tradeoffs. What tradeoff does Untamed have?

Meanwhile, Harbinger loses a Shroud to protect health and also has stacking reduced max health. It seems weird to fixate on Harbinger doing a lot of damage knowing what it loses to gain that, and what it risks to use it.

ANet breaks a lot of rules. 

Doom was changed because it's an instant ranged CC. 
What is this then? Mantra of Distraction.

Fear is much stronger then daze lol want to trade? We have lost too many things as it is and yet people are still pulling stuff from mesmers lol.
