Sooooo If I use Bulwark Gyro on my friends, and don't hit myself. Will I one shot myself without getting the barrier from the gyro?

 

Maybe this should be changed to just pulse barrier to allies in an AoE instead. 

 

Also I fully expect Soulbeast to hit 40k+ benchmark in PvE after these changes.

Anet keeps changing things nobody asked for and ignoring things people talking about for years.
Who asked for scrapper changes? Nobody. People asked about Turrets reworks. People asked about most of Gadgets being useless. People asked about Pistols changes. People asked about Pistol #1 being broken for years. People asked for Core condi- build changes.
And yet they decided to destroy Scrapper for no reason.

The scrapper gyros could get number nerfs. If healing squads in wvw or giving mass stealth is too much, limit stealth duration. Limit target caps. Lower heal numbers, cleanse less condis. There's ways to nerf things without changing what makes them unique.

Literally just increase the pulse interval for wells so I'm not cleansing as often per use, or getting what? 15-20 seconds of stealth off 1 sneak gyro. I never wanted gyros to be considered well in the first place, and now they're going to be clunky and annoying as hell to use.

The fact of the matter is that wvw support scrapper has been overloaded with utility which no other options are ever gonna be able to compete unless they made drastic changes.

Now it has wells that behave like actual wells. Fair enough. Shame they let the interaction run for as long as it did, people are used to be being carried by scrappers.

Too bad tempest is likely just gonna replace it if people can stomach the superspeed/stealth trade-off, so not a huge shift as it was already a decent alternative. But at least it doesn't have the same utility output. Makes it easier to balance the support situation further.

Anet should have the statistics, pretty sure no one in higher league uses Roiling Light, Flash Combo, Heel Crack or Heavens Palm at all unless they are trolling. Willbender doesn‘t even have a trait that interacts with physical skills

Gyroscopic Acceleration procs at the end of the Well cast so it is effectively a useless trait for the support gyros now. 

You still give superspeed and stealth, which is a tradeoff if you take tempest. I wouldn't just proclaim is bad.

Scrapper Support was my fav thing to WvW with. I don't like making gyros wells/ground target only that sorta defeats the point of the gyros. I did think scrappers needed a nerf tho; I was extremely bored with it; in that trying other supports just was like eh I'll just go back to scrapper. BUT - I'm not sure totally gutting it was necessary BUT - whatever - Druid looks interesting not sure it'll be up there in meta for WvW/PvP but curious to try it now lol. Overall maybe it's because it was done in live stream gave more insight to the devs thoughts on the changes and they were pretty honest - "yeah this prob will kill the meta but sorta the point" lack of their real words. But eh, overall there's enough good imo than bad I mean idk, depends on what you play tbh. There's some stuff leaving you wanting more tho like Vind, nice change with dodge BUT... eh, needs a lot more than just that. First step. Anyways SB expecting nerfs glad they didnt got pet swaps unexpected lol.

What's funny is they decided to make a class with one dodge after the mirage nerf, but fix it 6 months after, but the class they dumpstered it with first still has to wait 3 years before it gets it's own fix. But oh in the meantime take some more boon strip nerfs mesmers.

 

One dodge should have never been even an idea for balance mechanic, every class should have two dodges at minimum, you make players level and basically "train" them through the entire game to use two dodges as their main defense, and I'm sure they balance encounters with two dodges in mind, there is absolutely no reason to mess with that at all. FIX MIRAGE ANET.

Why wasn't this also applied to Alacrity on Tempest overloads?  Even before these changes the scrapper at least doesn't lose it if they have to dodge. More QoL for Elementalists please.

See, making the intervals longer woulda been nice. Less frequent pressure/anti-pressure from the scrapper, making them less overwhelming. Done. How easy was that?

I agree we've been overloaded with util for ages, but the only change I don't agree with is the wealls being placed thing. Who knows, this might not be the worst thing ever, it's not like wells are bad, but scrapper was really clunky back when gyros were stationary, and this feels like we're just gonna revert back to that headache.

Specter has less than 3,5% popularity in raids. Literally no sane reason to validate a nerf. Hell, Teapot even said Specter should be BUFFED.
