Given that GW2 partially already is a sci-fi game (with all the Asuran technology since launch and the Jade scrap from EoD), GW3 could go with the trope of advanced civilization got annihilated and the survivors returned to monke/middle ages.

In this day and age small group fights in an AAA mmorpg does not really cut it, and for GW in particular WVW is a major feature that makes it stand out from the crowd and part of its USP.   See New World or ESO for what happens when the engine/net code cant cope, so its an important factor and has to be technically and financially viable.

  • Stricter enforcement of forum rules with a focus on coaching the forums gate keepers to change their behavior.
  • Remove any and all political social commentary since it is all from the far side of one side of the political spectrum.

    Focus on telling a compelling and enjoyable story with out the above. It's a game not a biting social commentary.

    Make all content solo able /group able and bring the game back to the original definition of MMO. (Massive in reference to the size of the game. Multiplayer in reference to the fact that you will see folks from all around the world and can work with them or not. Both should be viable and get the same rewards for time and effort. Your preferred way should not be forced on everyone. Online in reference to the fact you had to have internet to play the game.)

  • All rewards available in all content, play as you choose. Want to be a Sociopathy (your character is killing other peoples characters so it fits)  and PvP, go for it. Want to group up with fellow Sociopaths and WvW go for it. Want to do your own thing with out having to deal with Sociopaths, Elitists, and Gatekeepers, go for it.

  • Make the mechanics of the game more intuitive and less need of wiki search, or out of game research for what to do.

  • Get rid of BIS mechanics and best build mechanics.

  • Better costumes with out all the graphic issues. They should look good on all the races not just a few.

  • If folks want to be Furies, let them. If folks want to dress like a tramp, let them. If folks want to dress conservatively, let them.

  • More interactions with the Dev Team in game. Events, hide and seek ect.

WvW doesn't have to have quite as many large blobs, on huge open maps. It could be large arenas, Battlefield size maps, where there's room to take various objectives but you still have teams of perhaps 20. I happened to be talking about pve, but your point about code that can't cope isn't germane to my point. You have to have good code for the purpose to which you're creating it.

WvW might make it stand out now, but DAOC was doing it way earlier. I don't see WvW as perfect merely due to its map scale.

lol you forgot the never ending "balance" patches in your options! you know, why make new things or patch old content when you can just tweak a few dpsers/healers/booners gameplay by simply rolling out another "balance" patch ... followed by another one, and another? Oh yeah dont forget to make Ele really great then burn it to the ground.

 


PS can we give ele's the ability to wave banners around like warriors?

I would fix the bugs in the meta events, and make them much shorter. For example, for the Aetherblade event in Seitung, it would be protect one section from being looted and only have one cannon to destroy. But the rest of that event would remain mostly the same - except maybe make the shredders hit harder.

For Aspenwood, I would fix the meta so it didn't stall. If that was a problem even months later, I would get the POI inside removed, along with the two lamps and the tapestry.

Serpent's Ire - make the vets show up on the map without anyone needing to find them first.

Marionette - make this downscale so that 15 people can do it.

CM Strikes with RNG mechanics (if same attacks (90% damage reduction) can stack back to back it will be the best)

A.K.A Soo won pre nerfed .

For some reason the OW will have a carthatic-enjoyable effect (differently from Teapot that they  "felt his pain" in the Temple strungle") 😛

Lets do that after each new Strikes have been released and the world-first race have ended . Edit: Lets say that theres a bug in internal vs real servers and the RNG + new achivements where not implanted , forcing people to worst1st for the RNG follow-up week 😛
